Just seeing this video one year later. Suffice it to say, better late than never. I'm a retired seventy-five (75) year old man that is made to be proud each and every day I see my younger Sisters & Brothers moving on up. My life and the lives of my generation and generations before me are of great value to the future only so long as you keep going. NEVER STOP. NEVER GIVE-UP.
Congratulations! Thank you so much for documenting your WP experience. There aren’t many videos out there done by African Americans. Our son is now a cow up there, and we missed so much because of COVID. Thanks to you, we get to experience some of the behind the scene’s action at WP. Congratulations to you and your sister, and thank you for your service. Even though we don’t know you, we’re extremely proud!!
Thank you for showing the behind-the-scenes on the women African-American West Point grad photo. That was very special. I am glad to see that I was not the only person to have a hectic time getting out of the barracks! I am sure your mother is proud of you!
Congratulations. Thank you for sharing. You and sister are beautiful . Thank you for your family service. You , your sister and mother make me proud to be a female. Love from your sister in Texas. God Bless you and your family.
I remember when Grad week when I checked for my Mil Art Final grade, I carried the same emotion. I'm super proud of you and your sister for growing the Long Gray Line as you have with poise and class. Grip Hands... A-1 c/o '03 Remember we do more together.
Nice video of an incredible journey, the one shared by all the daughters and sons of West Point. Lead well and faithfully, with service before self, honoring your oath, the reputation of this Long Gray Line extending back to 1802 and the Corps of yesterday, today, and forever into the future. ~ DFR78
Although my dad did not attend West Point, he would have been proud of these young people of color who made it through. He was a veteran of WWII. And I feel that in some way. He helped to open some doors for them.
In the middle of all the BS we currently have to deal with as Americans, especially with people who want to install an autocracy in this country and give power to one self-absorbed incompetent, this is so reassuring and just plain GREAT!
Congratulations on graduating from one of the best schools in the nation. West Point is a great school that many of our strongest leaders have graduated from 🙏 start double tapping Russian orcs. Pop pop. Such an inspirational photo.
Congrats, congrats......Thank God I'm almost retiring. Never regret and will never do it again. I'm almost there. 18 years, 2 Masters, oldest in AF Academy and a MSG is enough for me, Did my time.
Okay so I want to join the army but I had a couple of questions. 1. Is basic training hard? 2. If you have a bachelors degree already, would it make more sense to become an officer? 3. As a graduate, do you think going into the military is a good route to gain experience? 4. How do you balance your life while in( like friends, family, having fun ) or is that pretty much non existent?
I know our paths are different but just thought I’d ask to get some clarity! I’m going to talk to a recruiter tomorrow but I’d like to hear from a female
@@jasmynmonique So can you share why she was held back? I'm just curious if she was that good of a cadet, why would she be held back? That doesn't make any sense. It could be a good idea for a video...
Doesn't seem plausible that you don't know what the "issue" is regarding not graduating on time. Do we have a conduct issue here? Time to get your shit together and start leading before you run into the "E-4 Mafia". Congratulations and good luck.
Women of color can accomplish many things. Also, Black Indigenous Women can also accomplish this as well. And as a part of both the Cherokee and Senegalese African communities by way of my parents, I salute you for your success and efforts.
As a retired army veteran i disagree with the whole hair thing and this black thing. In the army we are all different colors. And the segregation of this black thing white thing and acting like this crap matters is pure bs. But that's ok maam my fellow soldiers will snap you up.
I agree. You are a soldier, nothing less, nothing more, but when they do this stuff to separate themselves or differentiate themselves it really has more of a negative connotation on the entirety of the purpose of the military. It's sad really.

Congratulations! What are those yellow stripes on the upper arms? Some have a few and others have many.
they are what rank you are. Every senior has at least 3, and if you’re higher in rank you have more and more!

unfortunately its a part of the job :( but I learned how to deal with people like this at school so I’ll be okay!🩷 @mzmel1
