I can’t tell you how happy it makes me that 8 whack is finally good again. My first ever major modern tourney was an SCG IQ with 50 people. I won 1st place with r/g 8 whack. Took the same list to the Columbus invitational and made it all the way to the top table before punting off the last 2 rounds to miss day 2. Deck is amazing. Can’t get enough bushwhacker in my life haha. Great video. Great league. Congrats on the trophy!

Came here to tell you that I recently won my first ever MTG tournament at my LGS using this list. Thank you very much. Now that Fury ain't around this list slaps HARD
I played Kuldotha rebirth long time ago when it was released for the first time. Such a fun deck! My version was using goblin guide's (because it was the best at the time) and goblin chieftain
Love this deck! Recently upgraded to this version of whack after rocking the traditional 8-whack for years. Can you explain the Emrakul in the sideboard? Awesome job on the 5-0!
can the list even be tweaked more? epicure for signal pest, ragavan, bolts and an extra breach, channeler even maybe ? the idea of going wide and being able to burn to the face seems legit... please do more runs with this deck, to have some fury matchups ?
Do the fetches help thin out the deck? Does it help? I am playing this deck with 2 Ramunap Ruins 2 Castle Embereth, 2 Fiery Islet, 2 Dens, 1 Sokenzan, Crucible of Defiance, and 8 Mountains
The deck runs light on land and is an aggro deck. In this video, you saw him keep at least 2 one-land hands. You don't want to be colored screwed because of darksteel citadel and you don't want to give up tempo if your only land comes into play tapped.
@@Silverhawk100 Yeah i agree... saddly with the way Modern runs.. 1 delayed start from a tap land can basically mean game. Its just too fast a format to play those lands.
So i built the deck some weeks back and finally had time to hit the modern scene at my LGS last week. Deck seems to get game one often but gets blown out by fury and most decks have strong boards against it G2-3. What do you think about Ob. Charmaw in the sideboard? Me thinks maybe replace one Magus as a slightly taller threat that can also close out a game in the air when you'd otherwise be in helpless top-deck mode....
Update for anyone who may ever see this. Deck is very fun and gets wins, but struggling in a Rakdos scam meta (gets blown out by fury), you don't really wanna run R vortex or void mirror b/c those cards hurt you too (mirror can shut of your own game plan), have considered boarding my own furies to hedge-you'll prob never get to hard cast, but will always have pitch fodder. DRC also worth consideration in the main
Ngl in the process of making my version of budget 8 whack, inspired by this version and gleeful 8 whack. Just glad this deck type can be budget friendly
well, i didnt see the real FURY of modern ^^ but i guess every deck has 1 bad matchup, so still great performance! the deck feels like a wider zoo with artifact touch and blood moon. i like it!
I was helping my Dad build a pEDH deck last night and I saw surge for the first time and was like this ability is busted in the right deck maybe with burning tree emissary. Then you had the upload today.
I'm not a modern player so I have a few questions.... 1 - What is the purpose of the fetchlands in this deck? I'm guessing maybe for deck-thinning so you draw more nonland cards? 2- How well do you think the deck would function without fetchlands? I'm considering building this as my intro to modern, but not sure I'm ready to shell out $200-300 for the fetchlands 3- What is the point of Emrakul the Aeons Torn in the sideboard? How can you possibly cast it with this deck? Is there a good cheaper replacement for it?
1. To thin but also with mishra’s bauble being able to look at your top card and shuffle it away is somewhat relevant but not needed. 2. Not very important. The more important lands would be fiery islet, sun baked canyon, and other lands like that as cheap replacements. 3. Emrakul is for mill, the text of it shuffling your grave into your deck is the only relevant text. So it’s not needed at all if you don’t expect to see mill, and if you want to replace it just find another card that has that text like gaeas blessing, some other eldrazi’s, etc.
Why run fetch lands in a mono color deck? Does the deck benefit from having lands in the gy or reshuffling the deck? Seems like mire, foothills, and mesa don’t even need to be there, they can just be basic mountains instead. At least tarn makes sense since you run blue cards in the sideboard. I don’t get it.
@@morgoth2425 signal pest is tecnicaly a wacker and make you win on turn 3, also you can sac it cause is an artifact. Epicure is a useless 1/1 at the end, if you dont have any other target to sac between 4 memnite, 4 stars, 4 bauble and 4 synth i think are just unoucky.
Prob built the deck and found out jegantha fits as a companion. If you have room it might help to close a game as a beater if you ran outta gas. But that’s if you dont need the 15 side board card
Smash is fine. Both are primarily for chalice of the void(for which theyre both excellent) and all the artifact decks which theyre also excellent in. Needle is for yawgmoth and grinding station. Instead of Orvar fill up with smash to smithereeens. Theyre very well positioned right now.
