WOW! This video was fascinating! The cake turned out gorgeous - I appreciate that you include the fails in your tutorials.
Wow it’s beautiful as it is Mary. Lot of work. This is one cake I have no interest in trying. I’ll let the experts do all the trying. But, you did a great job. And no one would really have known that did not see you put the edible paper on know that it faded. It looked beautiful to me. I would have bought it within question.
Your Under the Sea cake turned out BEAUTIFUL!!!
Awesome despite the "fails" as you say! Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to other gelatine cakes as and when you make them.
Absolutely beautiful Mary👌😍
I love seeing the struggles cause we are all human and you doing it for us and warning us about the pitfalls are wonderful.
Mary, you can spray some oil or rub it on to the acetate and it should peel right off the gelatine. Still turned out absolutely beautiful! I looved the cake jars I bought! Delicious! 😊❤
Not a bad idea!
So glad you liked them! I will tell Addie;)
Love all of your techniques, the cake turned out amazing 😻 ❤
It turned out beautiful even with the mistakes and which were not even noticeable.
Just as always, it's awesome.
Thank u..
For firmer gelatin use about 2 spoonful unflavored gelatin for every cup of water. Better to opt for pig gelatin since is the clearest one and add some citric acid and clear flavoring. I looove making artistic gelatins.
Hermosisima!!!! Que trabajo! Sinceramente quedó bellísima 💗💗💗
Es unico , maravilloso quedo felicitaciones maestra.
Wow 🤩
You're Way to hard on yourself! It's magical
PRECIOSA LA TORTA , FELICITACIONES!!!
Just amazing, I love it ❤
Thanks for your effort. We can all learn from it. I still love the cake 🥰🙏🏅
Cake is beautiful ❤ amazing😍👏👏
Great job even though you had mistakes
¡¡wow amazing and wonderful cake!! I loved the decoration, a bit laborious, but the final presentation is worth it, seeing it really moved me to the reef, thanks for sharing and making it look so easy😅
Awesome
The cake looks awesome.
Loooove it ❤
Oh my gosh!🤯 Someday, I hope to reach the level where I can confidently make some like this! We no longer get a newspaper ( does anybody?) So I catch up on my YT subs at breakfast. I started watching my husband was really facinated by your process, too! I had made a simple carrot cake for my mom's birthday yesterday and had a few problems, just stupid little things, and he said, "See, even pros hit speed bumps along the way." He was really amazed at everything you did from the gelatin "water" to the isomalt coral. Thanks for showing another great tutorial, your methods, and the process...such great learning tools!😊
Thank you so much!
Nice beautiful 😍 thanks
I like it
Wow! What a beautiful cake.Loved the video. Really great techniques. Thank you xx |||||||||||||
You are awesome 👍👍👍🤩🤩🤩
Mine was a fail too but for a different reason. It was kind of cloudy. I havent tried it again. Lol
Did you use the super clear gelatin?
👌👌👌💖
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love 💕❤️❤️❤️🇻🇪👏👏
Woww Mary ur super unique ideas tempt me in trying ur cakes designs so much ❤❤❤ i wanted to request you to kindly show a 2 tier cake, with the Bottom tier made with wafer paper ruffles which has golden borders for the ruffles, n the top tier with a beautiful stencil work with a beautiful isomalt sail ❤ lots of love to you, hope ur doing good.. blessings, Cassie from Goa India ❤
Well that sounds pretty! Let me see if I can work that in;)
❤❤❤😍😍😍😍
Wow. Amazing how it all came together. I wouldnt say its a fail, rather a healthy, constructive learning process! Thank you so much for sharing it all with us. I can empathise with your frustration at not having the video recording. Been there, done that. I was very curious to see how you made the fondant coral "tubes". Would you be able to explain or perhaps do another video showing how you did it?
Hi! All I did was roll fondant pieces with my hands;) I do have that footage, but it was going to make the video too long.
Cool! Thanks for the reply. I totally want to try this cake concept for my husband who is an avid sea fisherman. I showed him parts of your video and he was super impressed!
Mary, I think the cake turned out beautifully!!!!! Two questions.... how long will the gelatin hold up at room temperature and will it transport okay?
I would leave them in the fridge as long as possible. If you have some kind of chilled delivery system, that would probably be best. I know most people don't, though. Delivery for shorter distances would be ok but placed in a fridge once it gets where it is going. Just be sure to adjust the gelatin to be firmer when making it.
🥰🥰🥰🌺🌺🌺
This was great, fails an all🤗 One question..the video didn't show the pouring of the gelatin. Got a glimpse of using the straw tho but did you fill up the entire cake with gelatin or only part way? I so wanted to know how to do this and thank you so much for showing how. Love you❤
Yes I used the straw to fill the entire cake;)
Fantastic! Could you tell us where to purchase the cake ring? Thank you for your video. 🤍🤍
Yes;) There is a link in the video description for the one I purchased on Amazon.
Every time I see something cool like this I always want to try but, but I don't eat pork so I can't use the gelatin.
Agar agar is similar to gelatin, but made out of seaweed
Loved this, thank you. What is the cake pan called please?
It is just a called cake ring;) There should be a link in the video description.
Ah sorry, forgot to check that first lol
It looks amazing despite all fails 😊 The edible print, is it rice paper
No it is also called sugar sheets. Just like what they use in groceries store for edible images;)
@@sophisticakesbymary noted, with thanks. I will give it a try
Cake is beautiful. how did you pour the gelatin inside the acetate? And at what temp was the gelatin?
I used a straw down the side. I don't know the temperature for sure, but I left it at room temp for 2 hours before pouring;)
@@sophisticakesbymary you are the best, Mary!
Sehr schön aber viel zu viel Arbeit für diese Torte und Material das dann doch nicht gegessen wird....... Das find ich schade.
