I’m so impressed with your skills and what you brought to the table. As a half Japanese and cook, what you did was impressive. There aren’t many folks at the sushi level that would have produced what you did. Kudos from AZ.

Such great memories , reminds me of going fishing with my grandfather in Turkiye when I was young and we would visit from Canada. I had the bes time waking up at 4am going down to the row boat and rowing ou in the ocean and jigging of mackerel and picking mussels from rock out in the ocean close to shore. Kind of got a bi emotional watching this and seeing its. Thanks for sharing .

It was interesting to learn more about your family. I've been watching your channel on and off since you had 50k subs (brought by a collab with Hiro - diaries of a master sushi chef), but recently a lot more while recovering from a medical procedure. I love to cook for my family and it's just awesome to see a family sit down, interact, and have a good meal together. I like how you made it special with all the plating and chef tricks.. (hopefully not just for the youtube).
Edit: And another thing. Your sister will remember this fish you prepared so nicely. Because she caught it and it was made into something really tasty. When I was a kid, I caught some really small fish that most people would release as they are just all bone. But my mom fried them up, and I thought it was the best thing ever. 25 years later and I am still very fond of that memory.

Thank you for the explanation in the beginning of the video. When you get to know someone you are always curious about these kinds of things but of course no one wants to ask because it is considered rude. It is strange to be friends with someone however and not really understand their background. Obviously we arent "friends" in the literal sense but you are still part of so many people's lives if they sub to and follow your videos, so not having a general idea of who is who and what is what can be kind of frustrating for people like dating someone when you know nothing about their family or past. You feel like an outsider, a voyeur in a way, that dissipates over time as you learn more about someone. Without context it is very impersonal and people watch youtube as opposed to mainstream media and scripted shows because they want a personal experience.

Salmon ceviche' ! Came back from Alaska with 50 lbs of Halibut & 50 lbs of salmon and decided to try out the salmon in a ceviche'
dish. Everyone needs to know that salmon have parasites so very important to understand how to verify your fish is clean before marinating in lemon or lime juice !
    Salmon Ceviche
2 pounds fresh, deboned Salmon fillets, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (or)
1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
    1/2 red onion, finely diced
1 cup chopped seeded fresh tomatoes
1 serrano chili, seeded and finely diced
    2 teaspoons kosher salt

Lived in Japan most of my adult life, They are perfectionist in every aspect, from cooking, working even on public transportation, on time every time. My only complaint, their love for tobacco and coffee. My many girlfriends chose smoking over me and my tries to get them to cutback .😅😂. All good, Everyone has vices. I Never even thought of eating raw fish or even rice until I moved there in the 83. Now I love both. Daijobo! Gambate ne!
