If a woodworker don't make mistakes, it's because he's still on the couch thinking about a project and the mistakes he may make.

Love the show. Long-time viewer. Agree with others that your telling us "where things get interesting" is one of the highlights of your show. That way, when I make the exact same mistake I can further curse myself for not listening to you in the first place. Also, it's great that watching your show is very much like just chatting with a neighbor about stuff we're working on. Bit of a one-sided conversation, but you get the idea. Keep it up, Steve.

I have been searching everywhere for an example of a cabinet door like you made in this video. I was watching another video and yours started playing after the one I watched. I found your quick style so much better than all the others I watched and guess what?! You were the only one to show the style of door I am wanting to make, the way I want to make it! I am so happy! I also love that you included your drawer mistake. I gutted the kitchen, opened a wall, built my own cabinets, made my own flooring from sanded plywood and now am getting ready to build the cabinet doors. I now have a kitchen that I love and am not embarrassed to have other people see. I will be keeping you as one of my favorites!

It could always be worse. You could have been working in a cabinet shop and had to pull everything apart, clean it all up, then assemble it the right way - while trying like crazy to make it look like there was never a mistake made in the first place. After your boss climbed up one side of you and back down the other for making such "a beginner's mistake," of course. Or so I'm told, anyway...

I just finished a fun project. Since I was building a permanent cabinet in a bathroom corner, with glue and toggle bolts I attached the 2X2 Fir frame supports to the right side and a 1/2 fir strip to the back wall leaving me plenty of room for the faucet mounting. Then a would use Class D construction grade plywood and make a full piece front panel and the side panel. Then I would fill the knot holes and cracks and spray it all with sandable primer and where once sanded it looks like I used top grade plywood. Then I sprayed the customers color and installed a custom silicone rubber flooring from Amazon, dropped in the one piece Corian sink top and connected the plumbing and I was done...
