It's also important to point out that Lamar is dar skinned, has a heavy south florida accent (and does not code switch), wears shiestys to post game pressers, wears diamond grills during games, and wears his hair in braids, twists, and and afro. He's not just Black, he's the unapologetically himself. He's the type of Black person the media has ALWAYS hated because they cant control him. They tolerate him b/c he's undeniable.
Agree which makes me so mad when even black commentators do not give Lamar the accolades they should. And I am a 66 yo white woman saying this!

The bias has a different spin , but it still is a negative for black quarterbacks and especially for Lamar Jackson.
He is an outstanding quarterback, no other quarterback gets criticised like Lamar even when he wins a game.🙄
I believe he will still get criticism even after he wins a Superbowl. 😔
Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 🤗
Lamar better than all of them QBs picked b4 him
?
no he aint.. only the best rb... his paasing game only evovled recently
For the record, his mother didn't raise by herself, his father died after a car accident when he was 8 years old. His grandmother passed away the same day. 😥
Meaning she raised him by herself tf are you slow?
So she did he wasn't in the home anymore
We all know them devil hate that black is better
She wasn't a "single mother " she is a widow ! Big difference.
Last time I checked there’s still another 10 years till someone is raised. His momma raised him
Yes we’ve never seen criticism from a qb like Lamar in the modern era. Not even from other QBs who are black. The problem seems to be is Lamar is “too black” it’s a concept most people want to ignore. They tried to deny his opportunity to play QB because of his demographic. He is who he is and that bothers certain people because he’s not what they want him to be because he’s even better 💯
Being a Dark Skinned brother, from the streets of Baltimore (murder)

I know this ALL to well ! Black people are prejudice against me. NOBODY says it but THAT IS THE REAL REASON they hate him so much.
They aren't biased like that with

They don't like the way he wears his hair. His grill, the way he dresses off the feild. But.. He's still BREAKING RECORDS !
This documentary is so true. I am a white woman from Louisville Ky so I started watching him when he was a QB for University of Louisville and I knew he was the most exciting special QB I had ever watched in Louisville or in the NFL. I followed Lamar to the Ravens and only because of Lamar, I will be a fan of any NFL team that he plays QB for. Lamar is special in intelligence, football IQ and most importantly as a person! To be honest when Lamar retires I will quit watching the NFL. Lamar is so exciting to watch and he plays with JOY! We are watching history and need to enjoy this phenomenal QB as long as he plays!
You haven’t been around long enough, they’ve been doing it. This guy actually talks about it in this video. I saw James Harris, moon, Cunningham, Gilliam even Condredge Holloway not mentioned.
They’ve always done it.
Get tf outta here. Jaden is already better than Lamar. I’m tired of this narrative. 4 black QBs could have made the championship games this year and we suppose to cry over the one that didn’t ? He’s a choker
This is so true, its always something different because they don’t want to accept that a black quarterback is the one changing history, hope this goes viral dope vid
You live in a delusion..
I have been saying this! Im white and even I see it. Ball out laMV3

Its funny that they all wanted to move Lamar to WR or RB because he wasnt "accurate" enough but none of them thought to move Josh Allen to TE. JA's accuracy was worst than Lamars coming out of college and it was so bad earlier in their careers thay Lamar still has the career lead in passing accuracy. Some how JA was viewed as coachable and fixable but the Ravens were the only team that felt that way about Lamar. They wonder why race is always brought into these conversations.
Bills Mafia exposed how racist and shitty their fans are this past season. Imagine shouting MVP for a couple of 1 yard Tush Pushes

Excellent documentary
Almost 3000 views and no rebuttal speaks volumes!!
No, it really doesn't.
Most definitely, the QB position in the NFL was not seen as a position for black players to be in. Lamar is more scrutinized than other whyte QBs in the league.
due to the history of white supremacist views they had a league wide ban for 13 years so yea that bias is still there
If he was so scrutinized, how did he almost win back to back unanimous mvps? Hell, the year he actually won the unanimous mvp, he wasn't top 5 in any important qb stat. Do you forget that the same media that supposedly hates Lamar also gave him all the mvp votes while being above average at best? If you guys want the truth as to why he gets "scrutinized" more than other elite qbs? It's because he's 3-5 in the post-season where his only wins came against scrub ah teams that couldn't compete against the Ravens. All the losses were against real contenders that had a qb who wasn't the unanimous mvp.
@@jasonhensley7455 Obviously you haven't been following the comments that have been made about Lamar by so-called sports analysts etc. When Allen fails in the playoffs the blame is shifted to the coach
2 things:
1. A lot of people like to throw the “because he’s black” card around but nobody has actually came up with the background behind it, good job.
2. A lot of people’s response is “But Mahomes is black!. Really…. Mahomes is half and half and even still, that’s not the “black” we are talking about.
If looking white was supposedly the main way for a qb to win a sb, why hasn't Burrow, Allen, or Herbert won a sb? I'll tell u why; race doesn't matter when it comes to winning.
bro he is overlooked bc he always falls short in the playoffs. So what if u get mvps if you can't perform past the regular season. Everyone already knows hes a amazing qb , he js falls short every year.
Explain him being requested to play receiver or running back what white qb you know gets asked to do that ? How about after every record he breaks even passing records, people always seem to question his ability & mock him by still calling him a running back ?
Overlooked? He's a two-time MVP that's about to be a three-time MVP. How is that being "overlooked"?
You can't fix coping strawman narratives 🤣😂💯🎯. It would make sense if the man was getting MVP snubs
Absolutely bro

What is his record in the playoffs? The day we stop hype the guy as black people the better. This is the second time Pat and Hurts are in the Super Bowl and a rookie Jaden made the Championship and you guys still want to die on the Lamar hill.
it's not about Lamar, it's about the dwindling of the yt QB and their efforts to stop the rise of the black QB, that's all, they knew this day was coming so they have been trying to stop it but through all their efforts they have failed in their efforts and their is nothing they can do about it!
The playoffs seem to be stopping Lamar just fine.

There is no question that Lamar is a great QB. None whatsoever. He just has to figure out what that thing is he needs to change that causes him to flatline post season. The Bills’ QB Josh Allen has the same issue with 4-0 against KC.
This right here is perfect. Instead of blaming the NFL for "hating" black qbs, you point out the realistic truth that he needs to do better. Respect 👏

@ Why is he the most dynamic? That’s a blanket statement what does that even mean and how are you judging ?
@ this year alone 4,100 yards throwing, 915 yards running, 4th highest passer rating of all time(would have broke if not for the last game of the season), 41 tds thrown, 4tds rushing, 4ints. One of the greatest seasons by a qb all time already with those stats alone. Also add in had a perfect passer rating game to tie all qbs in nfl history for the most in a career, and broke Micheal Vick’s rushing record this year as well in year 7. This is better than I expected. Great commentary 👌🏿.
Glad you think so!
They can call him whatever they want to... But let's start with MVP🔥
He is not overlooked. He just can't make that killer throw when the game or season is on the line.
Brady obviously couldn't either he ain't undefeated in the Superbowl.
@@lesstylez 3-5 playoff record and Lamar was the favorite going into every single game.
He's not overlooked by anyone. What the heck are you on about? Lamar gets tons of recognition.
Recognition ain't what he is playing for.
I can't stand white people like you. GTFOH
The narrative around his contract situation isnt entirely accurate here. Lamar could have gotten a deal done after year 3. The Ravens wanted him. Lamar put off negotiating a contract for two years. As a Ravens fan, who watched that whole saga, I personally believe he refused to start negotiating because he wasnt happy with the offense. Greg Roman was the OC and he is an amazing run game coordinator but his pass concepts are horrible.... check out Herbert now that GRo is his OC. I think the Ravens dragging their feet on getting someone that could install a real NFL level pass game is why Lamar refused to truly come to the table. The other issue was DeShaun Watsons fully guaranteed contract. The NFLPA wanted him to hold out for a fully guaranteed deal and the NFL wanted the Ravens to stand their ground and not give it. If that Watson deal had not happened. Lamar would have been signed as soon as Roman was gone. John Harbaugh, EDC, Ozzie Newsome adore Lamar. He literally saved Harbaughs job. The Ravens were not going to renew his contract after that 4-5 start Lamars rookie season.
@@nonya6022 it was because of his injury bro remember Huntley had to step in and he wasn’t going to get the money he was looking for. He still has a very good contract Decosta and front office made it happen but his MVP made a big difference when he returned. We were always going to sign him but he had to earn guaranteed money they started talking early and he waited to get the offer he wanted. Had he not gotten MVP things could’ve looked different but we were always gonna sign Lamar. You definitely right about Gro and the offense. I’m skeptical about Harbs being the guy to get us to the superbowl because of some of the points you made but I have no doubt Lamar will get one
You answered your own question in the first 10 seconds. Unaimous MVP. And you best be smart enough to know that he's judged for not winning playoff games when it really matters.
Be better.
Please make a video on Geno Smith. He gets the same kind of treatment but hes a pocket passer. He breaks many black QB stereotypes
Yea we all know it’s because he’s black bur also because he has the best of genetics. Quick twitch, speed, agility. Add all that with passing ability he’s easily the best qb of all time. Only reason he hasn’t been winning chops is because he has a special teams coach as a head coach. Harbaugh shouldn’t be the he’s coach of any professional team. They are purposely sabotaging his prime, last year they ayripoa his team of all its coaches, now it’s in rebuilding phase of oline and coaching staff . There is no reason a franchise qb like Lamar should be in year 6and stilll not have protection, half his oline were rookies and bench players. With Lamar capabilities he’s the easiest qb to build a championship team around and year 6 here we are and ravens are still being cheap with getting him real weapons on the offensive side. All they got him in 6 years is an old Derrick Henry that they thigh was past his prime. They don’t want Lamar to win all the super bowls he was supposed to win. He should have 3 rings right now, but they let a special teams coach hold him back.
Yes
Jaden is already a better QB FOH. Lamar is beyond overrated and what does Mahomes not exist?
Please explain then why if Derrick Henry goes off they lose ? I’m just sick of the excuses with this guy
John Harbaugh actually has a Super Bowl ring as a head coach that he won with Joe Flacco at QB.
@@Willtellthetruth Flacco and our vets carried that was a hot seat year for John same way it was contract year for Joe, he hasn’t been able to produce without the HOF level talent only 1 ring with our prior teams nothing from 2013-2025. We were always considered middle of the pack team 9-7 wins or 8-8 at best 10wins. We weren’t as consistent of a team until Lamar came. Harbs doesn’t do much and has admitted that, what he does do he does well but he’s not a XO guys and it hurts come game day
How can a black QB get three MVP awards and that’s the reason Lamar was denied the award even though his performance was fantastic but the color of his skin was the culprit sooo sad
I don’t know how we can overlook at 2X MVP bro he’s just not performing his best when he needs to and that’s post season
He was damn meet about to get his 3rd mvp this year too
No we have to pretend he doesn’t choke because he’s black. Imagine this guy Lamar singlehandedly denied us black history (4 black QBs in the championship games) but we have to defend him
@marcus8030 This isn't true bro Be honest, there's racial bias here
Bro, he's already won it twice, give it to someone else. He dont give a shite. Stop harping on about it.
Lamar isn’t overlooked. He’s the 3X MVP. Cut the narrative. We believe that he will take over the league but the ball hasn’t rolled his way in the playoffs. To win in a playoff game, it’s a matter of inches and luck. No way does Eli stop the undefeated Patriots without the miraculous helmet catch. No way does the Patriots beat the Seahawks without Pete Carroll deciding to make that play call or Big Ben, doesn’t get his win without that great grab in the back of the end zone. Not to mention, those great Ravens Defenses that scored points at will and took all the pressure off Flako. We can go on and on, it’s just some luck and unsung hero’s that pull it out. I have seen no one pick up Lamar in the playoffs just yet. It’s been do or die with him.
💯
If you haven't noticed they won't accept a Superbowl win if Lamar Jackson isn't the end all be all reason that the Ravens win.
people knew he was going to tear the league up when he joined because that why they threw curveballs at him they created obstables and he still dominated
He doesn't dominate. He's 3-5 in the playoffs.
He currently has the same amount of MVPs as Mahomes but you want him to get held to the same standards as Josh Allen ? Make it make sense
I thought we judge things off of superbowls, now its mvps ? Why is lamar held to a standard of a 3x superbowl champ and mvp when he hasnt even made the big game ? I dont remember a guy like matt ryan being held to this standard and he won a more deserving mvp than lamar did last year. Why is joe burrow considered on the same level with josh allen when he has already surpassed him in accolades and a superbowl appearance? If the game is about superbowls how come burrows legacy doesnt get questioned since hes the one with the actual superbowl appearance yet the one w the mvps is questioned more ?
This has nothing to do with race. If anything that has benefited him. He’s not even top 3Bkack QB in the league no more. They have changed MVP criteria in back to back to try elevate this dude.
Being black doesn't benefit black QBs
the fact that derek carr is still getting snaps is proof that the league has an agenda.
Maybe in the past, sure, but not today. Black quarterbacks aren't some anomaly in football anymore.
Lamar is the race problem.because you have two MVPs and few playoff wins ,but you don't play like yourself in playoffs.there giving you the Peyton Manning criticism.because he a great regular season qb ,but can't deliver in playoffs.same for Josh Allen both deserve criticism
Josh Allen loses to Mahomes and WB who is superior to him and he plays above his expectations in them games. Josh Allen isn’t a 2 time MVP so why do you expect them to get the same level scrutiny?
Since Lamar Jackson came into the league I've been wanting him to contact Peyton Manning
Why? Peyton manning like Tinker bell Brady hid behind refs
I wouldn’t be surprised if Mark Andrews was agent of yt supremacy that sabotaged Lamar career with that catch either
NFL rigged
Please tell me you're joking. 😅
It is time we address the glaring lack of accountability in how the media covers Lamar jackson.Jackson. From the moment he was dratfed, he's been shackled to a narrative of doubt and a narrative that suggested he couldn't succeed as an NFL QB. Many labeled him a running QB and dismissed his ability to lead an offense and questioned his longevity in the league that favors a more traditional QB mold. Yet here we are, years later, and lamar continues to defy those low expectations while receiving the fraction of the recognition he deserves. #8 isn't just a good quarterback, he's an elite one. No other player has done more with less since entering the league. The revolving door of talent around him has been evident injuries to key players, subpar WR group, and an offense of line that struggled to stay healthy and consistent. Despite these challenges, lamar has not only carried the ravens to multiple playoff appearances, but he also delivered some of the most electrifying performances the league has ever seen. Each season, his growth as a passer has leveled up, which includes his accuracy, decisciin making, and ability to make something out of nothing when plays break down. Yet the media clings to outdated critiques, often undermining his accomplishments while lauding others who achieved less with more help. The truth is lamar jackson greatness is undeniable. He has redefined what it means to be a QB in todays NFL. He's not just a great QB, hes a generational talent, and the league is better because of him.
The media votes on the MVP award. He's won it twice and is about to win a third. Care to guess how many QBs have won the MVP three times? The better question is why a QB capable of winning three MVPs has a total of three playoff wins in seven years.
@Willtellthetruth he won mvps because he's has earned it, kid. Stop using it as an excuse for how a 2x mvp QB is treated in the media. It's always the guilty ones that use that excuse

Great video! Same issue with Cam Newton. I guaranteed that after the 2015 season, the organization was not full on behind Cam like the Packers were with Rodgers, Saints with Brees, Colts with Manning. They're quick to give those white qbs space to work but they're down the black qb's neck and just WAITING for them to mess up. It brings additional mental pressures to these players and it FOR SURE affected Cam Newton. As amazing as Cam could throw, he was always questioned. Get him better coaching if you feel that way because Cam had the talent as well. Cam should've found his way to the Steelers after his major injury in the 2016 season. Russ looked SO MUCH BETTER with the Steelers and Tomlin... He wasn't "toxic in the lockerroom" like they reported on the Broncos and Seahawks.
and after getting a really good RB to remove the pressure I can see now why the Titans will never go anywhere
Does ANY of the sports pundits mention, it took Peyton Manning, with 2 of the best receivers in the NFL. One of the BEST tight ends, and one of the BEST RUNNING BACKS ! 10 YEARS to win a superbowl ? Dan Marino and Jim Kelly (HALL OF FAMERS) NEVER won the SUPERBOWL ! Do they EVER MENTION that ?
That was the entire Peyton Manning story when he was playing. "He can't win a playoff game. he can't beat Brady." Literally, Manning heard that FOR YEARS. If you want to be ignorant, feel free, but don't tell the world about it.
Time after time 🙄 even with all the accolades.
Lamar is a two time MVP. He is considered one of the elite quarterbacks in the NFL. He is considered one of the best players of his generation. He is considered a future Hall Of Fame er. He had a better season than Josh Allen, no denying that, and your documentary is very insightful. But please don't say he was robbed of the MVP award because of racism. There were other odd choices for NFL awards this year ...for example....Barkley's backwards leap lost out to Daniels' Hail Mary for Play of the Year? There have been amazing Hail Marys before, but never a backwards leap over an upright player before in the NFL. Just weird and questionable choices.
Maybe, but he's living a very comfortable lifestyle. He's won 2 MVPs and gets to play in the NFL and has been for a while now. I think he can handle not getting an MVP. (I was hoping he'd win it though) 🐬⬆️ and 👎🦬
Dumbest sht ever nothing to do with race its the fact he stays winning mvps but chokes in playoffs
It's not dumb. Youre just in denial
Its a regular season award kid.
I would very much like to reduce this question down to simplicity, and say it’s because of his race. Can’t do that here. LJ is a hell of a talent and in my view, he fits at QB1. There is no issue about the way he play’s the position. He has led the Ravens through more good seasons than bad, yet praise for him is effusive. In order for him to get his full accolades, and after making the AFC CHAMPIONSHIP 3X, he’s got to win and get to the super-bowl. It always seem his team chokes in the championship round

Lamar Jackson is the best QB in the NFL.What he needs is a better Head Coach and a better Offensive Coordinator. The Baltimore Ravens have been the best TEAM the past two years and have nothing to show for it. Dam Shame 😢
So he needs the best in everything to be the best. Let me tell you this Lamar is one of them guy even when you give him everything he still won’t get the job gone
So everybody forgot about Josh racist post
What post?
No bro it’s ok. Because he MIGHT beat Mahomes one day
@JR-ol9pc Sheesh, I'm still waiting for 2X MVP Lamar to do that, too.
@@jasonhensley7455 the way Bills Mafia talks you’d think Allen had at least an All pro
The Ravens coaching staff call play to help lamar lose. Henry 16 touches in a big game in playoffs. The year before 6 total run . The NFL is against lamar, even his own coaching staff.
Yeah, unfortunately it’s either consciously or subconsciously that a lot of people don’t like LJ8. It’s outrageous! Give him his props!🤦🏻💜🐦⬛🏈💥🔥🥊
I was ok with the narrative until Lamar's most recent contract, the reality is that contract negotiation was preceded by the ridiculous Deshaun Watson fully guaranteed contract. No team wanted to have such a contract, and I don't blame the Ravens, but they did get it done and Lamar is their QB until he retires.
Patrick Mahomes is technically black
Only Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen are still with the teams that drafted them.
He does know Patrick Mahomes is black, right?
Do wypeepo see him as being black? Who is his mother? To whom is he married? Mahomes is their way of maintaining a hold on the QB position as black qBs become dominant. They loved Russ and were moving him to be the face of the league until he got with Ciara. Then they jumped over him while he was playing the best, most complete, most efficient football of his career and began promoting Mahomes. Now, look at what they’re doing…trying to push Russ out of the league.
You're a fool. I've watched Lamars' career from day one. And it has been littered with ignorant, so-called experts who have spouted B.S. from the beginning. You never see the experts say move Josh Allen to WR or TE because he has thrown more interceptions and has had more turnovers than any of the top 20 NFL QBs in the 7 years.? The pundits never say Lamar is football smart, but you do not get to most likely 3 MVPs without being able to read defence and move defenders with his eyes. Sorry, brah, but most non- black QBs in the NFL do not go through half the B.S. as Lamar Jackson. If you have watched Lamar and his career as long as I have, you would know this video is 1000% correct.
I'm white as cotton and he is my all time favorite QB and I was born in the 80s
Imma just respond to this thumbnail. NO! Truth is right, and btw I’m a LARGE fan of the Ravens Ray Lewis Era, it’s the fact that he’s a dual threat quarterback where normal, the ideal QB stays in the pocket. Think about it that is the NORM. Brett Farve, Tom Brady, Joe Flacco even, A Rod and Drew Brees were STAT Pocket passers (never mind the ratings, the naked eye test). So here comes Lamar, just like Vick, changing the game. It’s truly hard to believe even as a Raven fan. Many playoff runs but no Super Bowl begs the argument,”Is that the best way to play the game.” Rant over lmao
Or maybe he can win more playoff games? It's 2024.
The black sport people are teeth shower its whatever to keep them happy look at me boss eyesss on your side like malcom said boss we sick
Can we try that again in English, please?

Ever heard of punctuation?
Unorthodox QB How would a coach, GM or owner build a team around him. Build an incredible defense.
The only black QB I can think of who didn’t deal with this is Patrick Mahomes. Which is interesting when you think about it. Every “black” QB deals with this; colleges will use your legs to win but the pros want to change your position. A white QB who can run (Tim Tebow for instance) is praised while a black one if ridiculed. It’s rooted in racism.
Bruh, Tim Tebow was garbage. At best, people supported him because he was a huge underdog. However, when his passing woes started to show, people criticized him for only being able to run.
Joe Gilliam didn't want to listen to his head coach and couldn't keep the booger sugar out of his nose. Make no mistake, he blew his opportunity.
Is it just coincidence that a white above average receiver dropped the ball twice in two crucial plays that cost Lamar Jackson's team the opportunity to go to the superbowl. Reviewing the historical perspectives concerning black quarterbacks with the NFL what do you truly believe is going on. Just remember pete rose for the truth is still marching on.!!!!!!!
We had 3 black QBs in the champions game wtf are you talking about? Lamar is a failure stop it.
Lamar Jackson the best qb in the league without a ring the nfl will do anything for him not to get a super bowl rings
That's pretty easy. He faceplants in the playoffs, so apparently all you have to do is put him in the playoffs where his win percentage drops from 75% to 38%. Oddly, in his entire career, he's just 2-3 in HOME playoff games.
@Willtellthetruth whatever makes you loser's sleep at night
@@Mrfantastic-hp2enWhy would he lose sleep? Y'all the ones crying about how the NFL hates black qbs. Shit, I'll sleep like a mfing baby tonight. 😂
@@jasonhensley7455 😂😂😂 you loser's are insane get some good sleep at
Every black sports player should sit for a season and make them devils lose money then them devils would stop the bs
