Yeah, marathons aren't me cup of tea either, Will. I did one in 2008 and told myself "I will never run another marathon", and that holds true to this day, 150 races later.

I have been a KT fan for about 5 years now, however her dominate time in this race would have been last in the 5000 meters in the Olympics

You looked great, KT. Real smooth. 15:07 just off your PB running on your own. A kick in a competive race would have put you at or under 15:00. I think it would be great to shoot for Ms. Florida Gator's best of 14:51 that she achieved at the Olympic Trials.
Will very interesting to watch her career as she starts to run internationally, im sure she’s got a great future ahead of her
Katelyn would have finished just ahead of Allie Buchalski in the US olympic final with that time. That is just 27 seconds off the times of Cranny and St Pierre who finished 1, 2 in the finals. I think Tuohy can nudge that time down further with a couple more 5000 races. It's great to see her coming back to form.

@@mumrah07 Katelyn Touhy ran a 15:33 in the Olympic trials final. This last race she ran 15:07 taking 26 seconds off of her time. Any more questions?
Valbe still ran a 14:51. And still creates an obstacle for kt
@aaronboyer461 she's where valby was 2 years ago coming off injury. With good health and consistent training she'll get into the 14:50's, then who knows where she will end up. Women distance runners mature in their late 20's early 30's
@@johncooper8537 I think Katelyn can get down there to 14:40 in a year or 2 with St Pierre and Cranny which is what they both ran in the trials. She just needs to stay healthy. Chebet, Kipyagon and Hasan are in another class by themselves.
Parker Valby is the greatest of all time. Valby is a 6 time National Champion. Also, Valby is the record holder in the indoor 5000m, outdoor 5000m, and the 10,000m.
Not at 1500, 3000 or the mile. She doesn't have the speed.
MAN! Katelyn is amazingly fit... she keeps putting on more muscle, getting more lean... strong runner!

As of June 24, 2024, Elle St. Pierre holds the fastest women's 5,000 m time in 2024 with a time of 14:40.34, which she set at the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials in Eugene, Oregon. St. Pierre's time is also a meet record.

With that time tuohy would of finished 15th out of the 17 who competed in the womans 5000m olympic final.The africans dominate this event.The winner was around 40 seconds faster than her time here.If she is going to compete internationally against the very top athletes she's got to make up a considerable amount of time if she hopes to be a medalist at Olympic or at world championships.I dont know her PB for 5,000m, i can only go on this race.She's obviously talented & i hope she gets to compete in the next Olympics.
KT was clearly the strongest in this race. Perhaps a sub 15:00 time will come soon for her with strong competition, which is what she needs to contend for a national championship.
I am happy for KT but skeptical of how she will stack up internationally…

She's more improved her coach in college's way of practicing her running , great job you are sill young , more to learn and maybe try to always keep healthy
As a Brit I was looking for her in the Olympics - something must have gone really wrong at the trials.
She sort of dropped out of the news after losing to Parker Valby in the NCAA final. Good to see her back. I mean the field sees her back; we see her front.

Injuries. She’s great because of her heart and dedication. Veritably all our Olympic athletes have fought off injuries so we can watch and be proud. They are paying a cost for us, so we know what excellence looks like.❤

@markwinstanley4898 she was injured a couple months b4 trials and wasn't even going to trials but decided to see where her recovery was
