instead of going out fast and strong, katelyn stayed in the middle and only bursted on the last lap passing other runners and finished smiling and not winded at all!!! so excited to see her run her best at regionals and maybe nationals!
just a freshman with barely college race experience and shes already hanging up with seniors' times but it wont be easy, she still has a lot to learn and has to get stronger to be able to win
This is so fun to watch every thing is up to another level the camera work and commentary and so good to see her on the way back to 100% she definitely pick the right program/school
Watching Katelyn Tuohy compete in High School reminded me of the front runner Steve PreFontaine. Her National record in High School was 15:37.12. for the 5,000 meter race. I wonder what set back she’s experienced. These are different circumstances. It’s a team effort. She’s a team player. Great players want to play for winning teams. She’s on a winning team. Pacing oneself is critical to surviving difficult demanding circumstances. I think we can trust that she is being handled by a great coach.
Great win for Elly Henes !she's a woman of great strength.so with the others.only they did not catch up with Elly. Great run for all the runners.thank you for sharing us this competition video.more power to you all
If you are having trouble finding Touhy, she runs this race with a 6 on her front and 181 on her back. Briefly in the beginning she pulls up to fourth. But for most of the first half, she runs about 7th. By the last quarter of the race she is in fourth and I believe we see her go uncommented across the finish line in (spoiler alert) 3rd place.
If Touhy ran a 15.37 in high school and this was her most important race yet, and it was, and she ran 15.50 there was some setback. But she seems on the mend. I think she needs to decide to "big commitment" or average. She has the talent she can go far. Its a huge commitment.
She ran 4:12 and then the next day ran 4:13 and an easy 15:50 to get bronze medal I hope you have an insta and see how she finished with her second race of the day with 15:50 its on wolfpack's instagram and let me tell you, it was amazing how she was not even out of breath, katelyn finished as if she was having easy runs and jogging, she was smiling and counting 1 2 3 because they swept 5k maybe i should post that
When the commentators casually mentioned that for most runners, it was their 2nd event run and for a number of them, it was their 3rd event of this meeting. that sent a shudder through me. That is the very reason why many get burnt out at College level in the USA. Plus, NO, Track in NOT a team event. Unless you are competing in the relay races (4x100, 4x400) you are competing as an Individual. This whole "getting points" for the College is part of the reason runners are flogged like race horses. Remember, most middle distance runners do not hit their peaks until after the 19-24 approx age range of attendance at College/University. (Sprinters are different) Sadly, many retire immediately after they graduate, burnt out from being forced to race three "peak" periods per year: Cross-country, Indoor Track and Outdoor Track. After 4 years of that, they burn out. There are some fantastic, young athletes competing. I just hope their College coaches don't destroy them simply to get points for some some stupid inter-collegiate competition.
that sums up distance runners for you they not only run 3-4 distances but most of them also runs 2 sports, track and cross country, and runs in 3 seasons with cross country, indoor track and outdoor track
This ain’t no hobby jogging convention. The whole point of competing at the conference championships is to win as a team, hence running to gain as many points for the team as possible. You wouldn’t tell a football coach to sacrifice the teams chances of winning because his players will get tired.
well I will be damned, here I was thinking that an entrance interview for college admission should be about ones academic performance.....apparently you just have to talk about running !!
most FINA all-american student athletes make the most of their college years. Also, embodied and healthy individuals tend to avoid many of the categorical and modeling errors that predominate our hijacked "applied" sciences who are now so overrun in the "pay-to-play" space. Social scientist. It's measurable and demonstrable. Keep doing your yoga, kid.
Must everything be sexist, racist and homophobic today? The announcer had no ill intent....the woke, such as yourself, just ruin everything with this mindset.
great coverage, great commentary. Here's to some of our most brilliant scholar athletes. Salute!
I watched to see our girl "Katelyn" run but was so impressed by the Wolf pack team in this event. Thanks for posting this, you made my day.

Can't wait to see what she does once she's back in full form. She ran a 15:37 indoors 3 years ago, really shows you how much more potential she has.
Why is she in not full form?
@@vampiresforesl at the time this was she was still coming back from an injury
Tuohy grows with each race. She didn't have much competition in high school. Now she is adjusting her game. She will be scary.
just a freshman with barely college race experience and shes already hanging up with seniors' times
but it wont be easy, she still has a lot to learn and has to get stronger to be able to win
It is good to see Tuohy coming back into form. Her improvement has been steady.
Thanks for the upload 😀
This is so fun to watch every thing is up to another level the camera work and commentary and so good to see her on the way back to 100% she definitely pick the right program/school
Terrific race, Touhy is getting stronger with every race. As a freshmen she is hanging well with some heavy hitters.

Katekyn Tuohy You go girl. You are the fastest in the world.

America has so many great runners!
Eres maravillosa KATELYN TUOHY.

Que BONITO se SIENTE ver a una JUVENTUD SANA como todas estas MUCHACHAS les mando un CARIÑOSO SALUDO desde GUADALAJARA MEXICO .
Some of the ladies look like they are totally beat, yet Miss Tuohy looks like she is ready to do it again.

KT let her win
KT is a team player, and understands that leadership and greatness are measured by more than one metric.
yeah let's focus on the 5 6 and 7 runners while 2,3 and 4 fun and cross the finish line. how does this even happens?
These commentators barely noticed Katelyn, but at least we know now that Kenyans and Wolves work for the common good.
and to have your PRs listed in your resume lmao
Was Henes running in trainers?
no its the adidas supershoe for 5k distance
thick foam, the 5k-10k supershoe
Quite a race.
I thought they were going to mention Katelyn near the end but they ended up just saying two events.
⚡Girl,👏👏👏
Touhy...next Olympics
Kelsey Chmiel's last name starts with a K sound, not an sh sound. Get her bloody name right.
정말 잘뛴다
멋진 선수다👍
Comma Karelyn!
Gençlerin hepsi süper Türkiye Manisa Turgutlu:ya da bekleriz sizleri tebrikler saygılar 🍀💚
Tuohy will realize that some girls peak earlier than others. Game ON!
i think Zola Budd coaches NC
People of God too!!!!
Wow how fast and ummm well uhhh CUTE!!
Imagine being disqualified and you’re only 10 feet out of the blocks and for 5000m race
Is this the same announcer that doubted Yuki? Made that passing a piano comment...
What a huge starting field. Obviously there are no preliminary rounds. This is rather ridiculous for a race on the track.
GOD.
No sorry. "Podium" is not a verb.
It’s so funny how every single one of them has the same tan line on their upper thighs.
Probably wear the same training shorts
Sassy!!
don;t go there! yeah but I noticed too.
Show
Young girl already had surgery running 60 miles a week wearing out her joints
oh, wait.... DNA check? @18:52 holy buldgie thing .25 speed it bruh
It looks to me that wide hips must be a disadvantage
And a heavy top as well.
Can't believe there is a girl named schmiel.
It is true. Professional sport needs a professional body so you must stay fit and follow a diet
no such word as "bursted" college graduate

Nice for the announcer to be so sexist, “these girls whatever they do in life whether it be business, teaching or nursing will be successful….” 17:25
Gotta find the insult with everything.
Must everything be sexist, racist and homophobic today? The announcer had no ill intent....the woke, such as yourself, just ruin everything with this mindset.
Business is not sexist. You are looking too deep into this.
The one guy moderating sounds like a real.....I won't say it, but it ain't good.
Bikini beach! I'll take three!
