    I watched to see our girl "Katelyn" run but was so impressed by the Wolf pack team in this event. Thanks for posting this, you made my day.

    instead of going out fast and strong, katelyn stayed in the middle and only bursted on the last lap passing other runners and finished smiling and not winded at all!!!
    so excited to see her run her best at regionals and maybe nationals!

    Can't wait to see what she does once she's back in full form. She ran a 15:37 indoors 3 years ago, really shows you how much more potential she has.

    Tuohy grows with each race. She didn't have much competition in high school. Now she is adjusting her game. She will be scary.

      just a freshman with barely college race experience and shes already hanging up with seniors' times
      but it wont be easy, she still has a lot to learn and has to get stronger to be able to win

    Terrific race, Touhy is getting stronger with every race. As a freshmen she is hanging well with some heavy hitters.

    Watching Katelyn Tuohy compete in High School reminded me of the front runner Steve PreFontaine. Her National record in High School was 15:37.12. for the 5,000 meter race. I wonder what set back she’s experienced. These are different circumstances. It’s a team effort. She’s a team player. Great players want to play for winning teams. She’s on a winning team. Pacing oneself is critical to surviving difficult demanding circumstances. I think we can trust that she is being handled by a great coach.

    If you are having trouble finding Touhy, she runs this race with a 6 on her front and 181 on her back. Briefly in the beginning she pulls up to fourth. But for most of the first half, she runs about 7th. By the last quarter of the race she is in fourth and I believe we see her go uncommented across the finish line in (spoiler alert) 3rd place.

    If Touhy ran a 15.37 in high school and this was her most important race yet, and it was, and she ran 15.50 there was some setback. But she seems on the mend. I think she needs to decide to "big commitment" or average. She has the talent she can go far. Its a huge commitment.

    • @katelyntuohyfans
      @katelyntuohyfans  3 роки тому +4

      She ran 4:12 and then the next day ran 4:13 and an easy 15:50 to get bronze medal
      I hope you have an insta and see how she finished with her second race of the day with 15:50
      its on wolfpack's instagram
      and let me tell you, it was amazing how she was not even out of breath, katelyn finished as if she was having easy runs and jogging, she was smiling and counting 1 2 3 because they swept 5k
      maybe i should post that

    When the commentators casually mentioned that for most runners, it was their 2nd event run and for a number of them, it was their 3rd event of this meeting. that sent a shudder through me. That is the very reason why many get burnt out at College level in the USA. Plus, NO, Track in NOT a team event. Unless you are competing in the relay races (4x100, 4x400) you are competing as an Individual. This whole "getting points" for the College is part of the reason runners are flogged like race horses. Remember, most middle distance runners do not hit their peaks until after the 19-24 approx age range of attendance at College/University. (Sprinters are different) Sadly, many retire immediately after they graduate, burnt out from being forced to race three "peak" periods per year: Cross-country, Indoor Track and Outdoor Track. After 4 years of that, they burn out.
    There are some fantastic, young athletes competing. I just hope their College coaches don't destroy them simply to get points for some some stupid inter-collegiate competition.

    • @katelyntuohyfans
      @katelyntuohyfans  3 роки тому +3

      that sums up distance runners for you
      they not only run 3-4 distances but most of them also runs 2 sports, track and cross country, and runs in 3 seasons with cross country, indoor track and outdoor track

      This ain’t no hobby jogging convention. The whole point of competing at the conference championships is to win as a team, hence running to gain as many points for the team as possible. You wouldn’t tell a football coach to sacrifice the teams chances of winning because his players will get tired.

      most FINA all-american student athletes make the most of their college years. Also, embodied and healthy individuals tend to avoid many of the categorical and modeling errors that predominate our hijacked "applied" sciences who are now so overrun in the "pay-to-play" space. Social scientist. It's measurable and demonstrable. Keep doing your yoga, kid.
