  • A video on how to make some fancy lettering to use on your cakes. You could make this using fondant, gum paste, flower paste, mexican paste, sugar paste. You could also use polymer clay or fimo if you do not want the lettering to be edible.

Hi Zoe, love this video! One question - I have to put names on a chocolate cake covered with chocolate buttercream (client's request!) - would the fondant letters not just go soggy if I used this technique? What would you suggest?

+Julie-Anne Biggs Hi julie, thanks for watching. It was quite a while ago but I think this was just regular roll out icing / fondant :)

Hi, thanks for watching my tutorials, they have a few different names but anything like a clay extruder should do, here is one I found on Amazon - tinyurl.com/pxeuzvw

i had that silver extruder it was awful to use
i found it very difficult to push fondant out of it
my new one is green with a crank, that crank is amazing and easy to use
it only cost £5 on ebay
