Recently our friend Stefan has started a mushroom farm and one of the Jewels in his crown are these EPIC Lions Mane Mushroom! We've been experimenting with recipes for them and this plant based steak sandwich is top of the list. Thanks @DerekSarnoChef for the inspiration! Compressed Lions Mane Mushrooms have such a nice texture and they has some umph to any meal. Let us know if you've ever tried lions mane before and if you'd try this epic sandwich.
All the best,
Dave & Steve.
That is a perfect Lions Mane! Nice one gents, looks delicious.
Thanks a million Derek you legend!
I just made this with Lions mane that I brought from Washington to Dublin…soo good, thank you for the recipe,I’m using the leftover marinade for tofu🤗
And it's summer here and that just looks so perfect. Greetings from Mexico.❤
Amazing! Thanks for watching all the way from Mexico!
I never leave comments. But this recipe is out of this world!
I'm salivating!! And if you cannot find lions mane mushrooms you can buy (at most grocery stores) Meati plant based steak. They are made with mushrooms as well, along with beet juice. It's a pretty good substitution (not too many extra ingredients).
Looks epic guys
Cheers!
Do you have any recomendations as to where to buy good quality lions mane in the UK? I'd love to try the recipe!
Thanks! ☺
Will be trying that out tomorrow. Looks damn good!!
Hope you enjoy! It's so tasty!

We did credit him on Instagram, only realised now we didn’t on UA-cam
@@thehappypear awesome. He definitely changed the game. I make lions mane steaks all the time. Life changing.
Saw this recipe by derek sarno. Still yet to try it as i cant find this mushroom where i'm from
They’re hard to come by we’re fortunate to have a supplier down the road
They are hard to come by but health food stores stock them occasionally
@@thehappypearso does your veg shop have them?
Bravo boys!
Looks so good!
Thanks Katie! We ate the whole thing for lunch. Can't wait to have another one!
I'm a vegan living in Pakistan. I just found a place that sells lions mane mushrooms online. Hopefully they deliver and then I'll try a version of this recipe. 🙂
Pakistan and vegan? Ye kaise possible hai?
Sounds amazing! Hopefully you get a chance to try!
@@Sahil-dt6sj I'm in Ireland now and here they sell Pakistan mango
The most delicious mango I've eaten
I'm pretty sure it's super easy when you got quality fruits like that to be not only vegan but also raw vegan or even fruitarian
Looks amazing but Derek should have a great shout out 😉
We tagged him on the Instagram post, forgot to here in all the commotion
@@thehappypear All good and amazing how pushing the envelope on plant based food 💚
Is the beet root juice mainly just for color? Or does it add to the flavor?
Should do recipes with the mushrooms that taste like chicken and lobster and seafood.
😋
Looks amazing, a bit like char siu it’s that pink.
yo dudes!
YO DUDE!

What a MANDWICH!
Where is the best place I can get lions mane mushrooms is dublin?
We get ours from Ashford Mushrooms :)
Wow
I always love how much you love chomping down, haha. It did actually really look like super rare steak! ps you guys sure seem to like your meaty 'style' dishes - if you don't mind me asking, how long have you been vegan? I'm guessing these meat like recipe inspirations stem from a carniverous diet a loooong time ago..
Where do you get that mushroom in Ireland?
I have an online store I order my shroom products effective and affordable.
You can get that from them.
He's on instagram.
@Charlesmyco
Would take lion's mane over steak anyday. Shame it's so hard to get.
awesome !!!👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌
Cheers 😀
Making me salivate here. 😂
It was so delicious
So it’s a lions mane sandwich not steak..cool.
I've been a vegetarian/vegan for over 40 years, and I'm not sure why people want to be reminded of burning flesh and blood when they eat plant-based. Mushroom recipes are amazing and they would be just as tasty celebrated as mushrooms, not burning, bleeding flesh. I've always LOVED your videos - but this one made me a bit sad.
Not everyone is you and not everyone wants to give up all the foods they enjoy and these gentlemen help the transition go a lot smoother. Be happy that others want to eat plant based and have options like this so they don't feel like they are giving up all the foods they love and grew up to..
I understand what you mean, but it can be a way for life-long vegans/veggies to have something similar to what their friends can eat; it can encourage people who eat meat to substitute for plant based; it can help people new to plant-based to transition with a variety of foods similar to what they used to eat.
It could be worse like all the highly processed meat replacement. This is just marinated mushrooms.
Total rubbish
Really? Total? Wow!!! Thank goodness you’re here to let us all know. Dipsh!t
