What if the plate is not moving so where you started it is where it stays. Does not move at all so is in the same cycle. The plate is like some spots are flush and in other areas it has separation making no contact like almost warped.
Good to replace the plate also😊
I think I have the same exact washing machine you have. And the knob just did the same exact thing as yours. Thank you for posting this video.
Hello! My knob has broken, but I think I literally only need the clip. I can I just order that separately? Now that I look, is it possible that tge teeth on tge knob can be broken on the knib and as well as the part it plugs into?
What happened at 1:18? Why weren't you using the outer knob to engage the lower piece and turn it like it's supposed to?
Ecxatly ! Full of sh*t
I’m doing the repair myself, I have removed the knob and attempted to wash temporarily using a wrench to turn the little knob but how do I know which way the “arrow” goes? I pulled it to turn on and no water is coming out the washer.
You can pull it and then turn it until you hear the water start?
Please share a link to the legit GE appliance website where we can order the part. Thanks for your help!
Where can I get the replacement knob?
Hi Hardi,
Here is a link to the GE washer replacement knob: amzn.to/3fPoDzU
I have a problem with the load size knob and i remove it and theres absolutely nothing behind the knob when i remove it. Just an empty space, does that mean the gear shifter fell out or something?
You’re right.
Need to remove that panel behind the console and put the switch back in place.
Keep this washer with you new GE washer is rubbish that what you have is gold washer
Excellent video 👍🏻, I got a GE Top Load Washer Model GTWN4250D1WS and it starts agitating as it's filling up and the washer will keep spinning while the lid is open, What could be the issue? Thank you.
Someone bypassed the lid switch.
Great concise instructional video just helped me to see I could quickly fix the problem once I order replacement parts
Glad it helped Ron😊
Hi i replaced the nob with new clip. The problem is that the new nob gears arent .making contact with the gears on the timer control. Otherwise i can turn the "wheel" by hand and nob to engage a wash just fine. But it would be nice to use the nob as intended. Little.advise would be helpful. Thanks
Just need to order the dial part that goes under the knob.
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel I noticed the dial piece broke off. It's tube like with gears/teeth on one end where the nob connects to. Do you know the name of that part? I take I would have to disassemble the timer to install. Right..? Thanks.
1 Of the best do it yourself videos i've ever seen. There is zero unnecessary instruction,
Thank You.
Thanks so much Alex,
That means a lot to me 👍
Awesome! Not only did you make a problem quick and easy to resolve, but you showed everything at perfect angles to SEE what you are talking about. You did not waste our time rambling about extraneous things.
Thanks so much Shawn😊👍
You’re so right, my kind of video
yes sir!
What if yhe whole part is loose?
Can you send a video of that to my email at: scottthefixitguy@yahoo.com
Thank you Mister Scott!...This video was so simple to follow, my 12 year old daughter fixed my knob for me and saved me money from hiring someone. 😃👌🏾💚
You’re 12,year old daughter! That’s impressive 😊
Where do I get knob I have the same problem ?
a.co/d/cPz1XWz
Just sent you a link for the knob👍
Thank you sir! My exact problem, just have to find the part and order it now
Nice job John😊😊😊
I didn't have the same problem but it helped me understand how the dial was put together. Turns out the box for the dial behind the faceplate was loose. Had to screw the damn thing through the faceplate.
Th
Thanks Thomas😊
There is no little clip to pull out for timer knob on my GE washer WLS3000G0WW. How do I get the knob off?
Can you double check that model #
Hello, my problem is the dial won’t stay in place with the timer when I pushed the knob back and pull it out. What can I do to fix the dial that turns in place with the timer ?

What if the problem is with the plastic thing that the teeth go in to turn? It's very worn out so the teeth of the knob have nothing to slide in to to turn the cycle.
Best to replace that part also.
Amazon.com sells them👍
I have a similar wasging machine. I was having the same issue, but I also can't pull on the knob to start the washing process.
Thank you. I believe you just spared me from buying a new timer!
That’s what I like to hear👍
I have the same washer and my knob isn’t working but when I try to put a new one on the part inside the washer pushes in to where I’m not able to put the clip on
Can you email me at: scottthefixitguy@yahoo.com

Is there any place I can buy the wheel inside the time the that the plate and knob connect to? Please advise. Luz
Hi Luz,
Can you send that same question to my email address at: scottthefixitguy@yahoo.com
Scott, I hope you don't mind me asking a question, but funds are tight I can't afford a repair bill so I'm trying to do this repair myself. I hv GE washer, the pull knob is locked in place, but will not turn. I hv removed it, yet nothing appears broke or cracked, so what could it be? model vbxr1070w1ww.
I just put on a brand new knob following the instructions in the video and it is still spinning and not engaging. Any suggestions?
Thanks Erica,
Did you replace the large round flat plastic piece below the knob?
@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel I replaced the timer yesterday and it seems to work fine now. Thanks for getting back with me!

Can you send that same question along with pictures and the model number to: scottthefixitguy@yahoo.com
