You can hear a lot of his influences in this solo. Pretty amazing and doesn't get the credit in this country that he deserves. He's an amazing guitarist.
He gives the people a show, it's all an act and especially in metal music the energy is what makes the show. This obviously has a lot of energy and I can only imagine standing there and suddenly seeing this guy doing some crazy shit, I would go crazy.
There are enough underrated guys. What can you say about Chastain? There is a huge undiscovered discography of neoclassical shredding and similar to DIO, but female vocals
Akira Takasaki was one of my first guitar heroes, now I just hope he´s alive, if he still lives in Japan. The devastation is beyond human understanding. I am so sad.
Really,Really great player. Awesome tone and his picking is super clean. Loudness was/is a great band. They had some hits in the 80's and I honestly think they scared a lot of the top North American heavy metal bands 'cause they were so good.
@summitthescale Hey that's great! I'm glad that you listened to it. I think you're right that he's having an off night because this solo really is no big deal. I think when he was younger he had more fire in his belly. When I was a kid I used to listen to them all the time and actually saw them live back in 1985. He came up with some awesome riffs and the band could really play. Enjoy!
Interviewer: In your case, Takasaki-san, you don't just feel like a listener of Eddie, but as players of the same era, you feel like you were comrades in arms who competed against each other. Takasaki: No, that's outrageous. I'm so afraid of saying that, and I've never even thought about it. Eddie was already above the clouds, and was like a god.
Paul likes him because they are friends, as are Paul and Marty Friedman. They hang out in Japan. They love it there. As far as Paul's views on Akira's guitar playing, that is another story. Akira does not reside in the same category as a Paul Gilbert or Eric Johnson. Akira is a great song writer. They made ONE great album. His solos are not difficult nor are they technical. At the same time, he does understand music theory, he just doesn't choose to make this a part of his regime. He is playing a guitar solo much like a guitarist like Malcolm Young would. He's just a mediocre rock guitarist. He is most certainly NOT in the upper echelon of guitarists to emulate or to go down in history. There is a difference between being friends with someone. It is an entirely different thing to say "just because they are friends, they must be on the same technical or artistic level. Kind of stupid that this had to be pointed out.
OMG - I LOVE Loudness! I was just a kid when Loudness toured the states and my MOM (yes, my mother...I was so pissed cause I couldn't go) went to see them...but she was going to see Loverboy and they opened for them. That was an interesting concert to say the least.
It's amazing how many people have opinions about someone's playing when it comes to UA-cam. These guys as far as I know don't do that to one another...only us? Is this why we're not famous and THEY are? lol!
Agree, and the comments about the influencers... Paul Gilbert actually has respect for Akira, but I don't have to defend him I enjoy it. If others don't, then don't listen and post your comments somewhere else!
Agree with all those (tipton is overlooked, good one), gotta add angus young, adrian smith, john sykes, adrian vandenberg, randy rhoads, george lynch, among others
30 years ago there weren't too many guitarists who were hotter than Akira! He was a big influence on a young Paul Gilbert and you can hear it if you listen to the first Racer X album"Street Lethal" and compare it to Loudness" "Dillusion" disc.
I saw their video in europe holland and i was shock that they try hard to achieve what they want..music is not a bread and butter for them but they do excel and this is one of them.its my respect towards loudness because they have their own style and feel in their group ..btw for haters u can listen to biebers bcoz this guy rock
I can hear so much "Eruption" in his performance, but that's not a bad thing,he got his own style also and can someone show me a metal-guitarist who is not influenced by Eddie "The Great" Van Halen?
Interviewer: In your case, Takasaki-san, you don't just feel like a listener of Eddie, but as players of the same era, you feel like you were comrades in arms who competed against each other. Takasaki: No, that's outrageous. I'm so afraid of saying that, and I've never even thought about it. Eddie was already above the clouds, and was like a god.
Wow, this is not terrible shit, this is great shit, at least to an aspiring guitarist. I haven't enjoyed anything this much since I watched the video of Dick Dale and Stevie Ray Vaughn tearing up Pipeline!
@summitthescale Go listen to the Loudness album "Dillusion" which came out in 1983 and then listen to Racer X's first disc "Street Lethal". You will hear many similar riffs. I would say that the song writing is more influential than the lead playing but it is there. Gilbert has also spoken about it himself that is how he used to listen to Loudness. I gotta admit that Akira can be very derivative but in many ways he was doing speed metal before it was even called that and he always goes for it.
@8tonsemi Thanks for telling me that. I listened to dillusion and it is very similar to Racer X, you were right. This is the first video I had ever seen of this guy, and to say the least, it isn't too great. From what I heard from the other tracks it sounds pretty kick ass. Maybe he was having a bad night, but I can see now how he would be an influence to Paul Gilbert.
Akira started making records in 1980 or so. A true chameleon, you can hear all the late 70s, 80s guys in his playing (Gary Moore!!!) but he always put his own attack and attitude to his playing. In the 90s Loudness went through a grunge period (sort of) where Akira played some really sick wah wah stuff. He will always be one of my top 6 or 7 favorite players.
@summitthescale You have to take a historical perspective on this. Akira and Loudness were a huge influence on a young Paul Gilbert and when Akira first came out in 1981 he was a really hot guitar player. His influences were Gary Moore,Michael Schenker, Randy Rhoads, EVH, Rush etc... and it shows so it's kind of unfair to compare him to the guitarists of today.
You can hear a lot of his influences in this solo. Pretty amazing and doesn't get the credit in this country that he deserves. He's an amazing guitarist.
1986 i was in college listening to Loudness. I loved Akira!
Very cool. A lot of licks from the Exloder solo on the Disillusion album, plus some additions/ variations.
A lot of people forget about this man! One of the best guitarist ever! 🤘
He gives the people a show, it's all an act and especially in metal music the energy is what makes the show. This obviously has a lot of energy and I can only imagine standing there and suddenly seeing this guy doing some crazy shit, I would go crazy.
One of the best Metal guitarists ever. Akira rocks!
the most underrated heavy metal guitarist out there!
There are enough underrated guys. What can you say about Chastain? There is a huge undiscovered discography of neoclassical shredding and similar to DIO, but female vocals
wtf
Akira Takasaki was one of my first guitar heroes, now I just hope he´s alive, if he still lives in Japan. The devastation is beyond human understanding. I am so sad.
Love this guy. Real mind blower
Really,Really great player. Awesome tone and his picking is super clean. Loudness was/is a great band. They had some hits in the 80's and I honestly think they scared a lot of the top North American heavy metal bands 'cause they were so good.
Akira Rocks!! An awesome solo by a true 80's trailblazer.
He did, it he expressed his feelings, he expressed the ultimate rage
Oh yeah!
A true badass!!!!! Thumbs up!!!!

Just great.
Air I can say is Wow , Wow, Wow. Just fantastic.

Paul gilbert loves this man so what do you have to say now. One of the most brilliant guitarists in the world loves this dude think about it.
Paul likes him because they are friends, as are Paul and Marty Friedman. They hang out in Japan. They love it there. As far as Paul's views on Akira's guitar playing, that is another story. @@123jozef tommy your iq of music and or what other music legends may think is weak...very weak.
@Tommy Sargeant Really? Mediocre? 😂
@@123jozef his solos aren’t difficult or technical?? Have you heard his solo on Soldier of Fortune? Cause that alone invalidates that idea.
AKIRA IS A METAL GOD!!!
OMG - I LOVE Loudness! I was just a kid when Loudness toured the states and my MOM (yes, my mother...I was so pissed cause I couldn't go) went to see them...but she was going to see Loverboy and they opened for them. That was an interesting concert to say the least.
This guy shreds it pretty well! Loudness should give him more solos.
Just one word.......EPIC!
AWESOME, AMAZING Heavy Metal Solo!!!!!
It's amazing how many people have opinions about someone's playing when it comes to UA-cam. These guys as far as I know don't do that to one another...only us? Is this why we're not famous and THEY are? lol!

Akira!!!!! Freaking Amazing brotha 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺😎🎸🎸🎸

What a Fucking Awesome !!!!! Akira ~~~
Best asian guitarist with no doubt!
no.....Kyoji Yamamoto is much better
Hotei and Hide are fucking epic too
Shindaechul is better than him. Don’t even try to compare!
They all play very differently.
Its hard to compare. Akira, Hide, Anchang, CV Panther, Hizaki, Ohmura and many others are amazing.
I like his guitar satge perfomance....so crazy speed fingers...heavy metal is never dies
LOVE HIM!!!!!♥
Saw Loudness in their Thunder in the east tour Dam is all I can say!
always loved his solos
We get so little impressed these days, always have to say negative things... Can't we just enjoy the power of the guitar ?
Akira Shreds Period!
I can hear so much "Eruption" in his performance, but that's not a bad thing,he got his own style also and can someone show me a metal-guitarist who is not influenced by Eddie "The Great" Van Halen?
InfernalNightlord
I agree Nightlord. But I think this kid is more skilled technicallay
His real works are in the songs. There are nothing like eddie in those Loudness songs. Eddie doesnt play that kind of riffs and solo melodies.
I can only remember of Adam Jones, of Tool. He doesn't remember Van Halen in anything.
Akira is Awesome!! Thanks for posting this... Whats up with the crazy comments?!
最高
el mejor violero del mundo sin duda
Wow. Akira is way better than i thought. That is so cool
Seven hells, I would NOT have the dexterity to pull that mess off. Props to this man.
Yeah. Loudness. Rules.
You mean Akira Otoishi.
I thought i was the only one who found this while looking at Otoishis solo
@@IbarakiPlays same
actually fun fact, his character was based off of this guy!! :)
niiiice ! a bit of eddie Van Halen in him with his own style, badass , cheers dude !
Uauuuuu e mass...mi apaixonei maluco ..
Greatest guitarist in the history, Akira Takasaki!!
The legend
He easily kicks some of occident guitar players` asses. Why is he so underrated???
Jeff loomis loves akira his influence can be heard
Wow, this is not terrible shit, this is great shit, at least to an aspiring guitarist. I haven't enjoyed anything this much since I watched the video of Dick Dale and Stevie Ray Vaughn tearing up Pipeline!

Finally. Some. Who. Knows. How. To. Play. Awesome.

Takkan is tha Man! Enjoy goosebumps in your back!
The Greatest from Japan,Takasaki
anything not from the us or Britain is underated and this guy probably tops that list. akira and god are very close
@8tonsemi Thanks for telling me that. I listened to dillusion and it is very similar to Racer X, you were right. The most extreme metal guitarist right here!!
Are we sure he isn't Akira Otoishi?
Yes!akira takasaki is a guitar virtuoso
THIS ROCKS!!!
Akira is the god of Guitarist.
No, it's compliment for the whole race. They can master everything what they want, including playing guitar.
✖ Directo al Playlist, carajoooo.

@marshallmadman The man is a Weapon of Shred. I agree totally.
I saw this and pulled out birthday eve and law of the devils land. awesome metal.

Akira is an animal !!!! Amazing shit
59 dislikes from the Deaf Institute
You'll all end up DEAF by listening to this crap. Go buy a Michael Romeo album instead, and make yourselves a favor.

Imagine that akira takashi and malmsteen playing together.
@marshallmadman Ey take it easy buddy I totally agree with you, actually is kind of difficult to play Loudness, Akira is a very special player
