Back in ‘85 I was driving home from a UIL school event at 3:30am I dozed off as soon as I got on a straight road.. Went towards the ditch and as my car hit a bump THUNDER IN THE EAST cassette in my player automatically came on and his guitar sound woke my ass up right before I almost entangled my car with a fence line( country school)… I never forgot…. Saw Loudness open for Motley Crue back in the early 80's. This fuckin' dude stole the show!! Such a killer guitarist!! He doesn't get enough accolades! Akira!!!!
+carlinfan4life That would have been brutal. Props to the Crue for bringing on a band that dragged their dicks in the dirt. Akira has always been a bad ass. Ridiculous talent.
@@countvond233 Oh yeah! Loudness is awesome and I go way back to when Disillusion came out and Lightning Strikes. Never saw them live but I have a few copies of their live DVDs and almost all their albums on CD, Tape or MP3.
I've been a fan from the moment I heard "Crazy Nights". He is one of my all time favorite players. I had a ticket for a local show 4 or 5 years ago and could not go. 😞 Hopefully they come back again. 💚🎸
Akira’s a legit living legend. He’s forgotten more about badass playing than most will ever know. While he’s clearly just mucking about here, one can hear the man’s experience and masterful nuance. When Takasaki is on, there’s no one like him, anywhere. Dude’s one of the greatest riff composers of all time and has recorded some of the most incredible solos ever heard. Hail.
Akira has such a unique style and such a refreshing experience nowadays when most American and European guitarists sound alike!! This man is underrated in my humble opinion and can hold his own on any rock guitarist dead or alive he's becoming a true legend IMHO? ROCK ON AKIRA TAKASAKI!! 🤟😜
LEGEND! One of the best hard rock/metal guitar players of all time! Listen to 'Thunder In The East' and 'Lightning Strikes', and you will hear the best metal riffing and leads your ears have ever had the privilege of hearing! Mind blowing and oh so technical!
Akira is a MONSTER SHREDDER!!!!! I love everything he’s recorded but tothis day, Disillusion has got to be there best most criminally under-rated heavy metal record of all time.
I agree. I just listened to Biosphere today, and I must say that it's different, but I loved it...but quality headphones or earbuds are necessary, as well as listening all the way through...no fast forwarding.
Just hops up and casually puts on a guitar master class in under 10 minutes like it’s no one’s business, takes the crowd through multiple styles of music with unmatched technique and a unique shredified way. Dude is such a legend. Also with a guest appearance from Ola Englund in the background
Much respect to akira. One of d best guitarist, a legend of his time. As randy roadhs rose to b regarded one of finest guitarist of his time. akira i should say was no less than randy. A true legend who could compose melidious riffs n sherd it clean.. In fact one of d most under rated guitarist of post randy' era. Much respect n best wishs to akira coming all d way frm far northeast of india.
Never been able to afford a duncan. But I did try a lefty joe pass g8bson with jB pickup and it did it all clean, jazz, rock, metal, country. I liked it

Huge Akira fan and Loudness since 85, greetings from Canada!
Love how he goes up there and just starts speaking the language everyone understands
Saw them open for Motley Crue on the Theater of Pain tour. They were awesome!
As did I. El Paso, Tx.
Wow! He’s even better now than I remember him back in the 80’s. Metal monster player!

His personal tone is fantastic - no matter what pickups he is using.

And his first ever bandmate was another legend, Hironobu Kageyama.
i like akira but his riffs and some solos are from randy rhodes, evh, or even jake e lee or yngwie =\ he learned from em

killer guitar is very expensive.. but i admit that the sound was real good also... akira !!!
Thunder In The East, Lightning Strikes, Hurricane Eyes....Mr. Takasaki is a MASTER guitarist.
He's got nothing left to prove. It's just like breathing to him. So natural.
