No idea why UA-cam recommended this for me, but I found this really interesting ^_^ I don't collect American girl dolls, but I do own a Kirsten doll from when I was a kid and was terrified to do anything with her hair because I knew I couldn't put it back the way it was when I got her cuz I was terrible at doing hair lol. Never would have thought it could dry out! Makes me want to check on how mine is doing in my parents' basement, haha
Is it okay to store the dolls laying down inside their boxes? Or, should the boxes be stored vertically?
Laying them down is perfectly fine! Just don’t store them sitting because it will cause their legs to become super loose

how do you fix old doll hair
You want to wash the dolls hair, wash the dolls hair in a sink or a bowl of water and wash with shampoo and conditioner, make sure you don’t get the dolls eyes wet when washing their hair. Leave the conditioner overnight and wash out the next day. Dry the dolls hair a little bit but still leaving it wet. Brush the dolls hair with a wig wired hairbrush and brush from the bottom of the dolls hair and work your way up to the top! Leave dolls hair to air dry! Do not blow dry the hair with a blow dryer, because it could cause heat damage or the hair could potentially melt. Because the hair is made out of plastic you want to make sure you do not use heat on the dolls hair. Sorry this is super super long! Anyway I hope this helps!
