Yeah I was wondering that myself what the hell happened to the Addy Walker doll? My sister was given that doll for Christmas when they first barely came out. Did they discontinue her and the other historical dolls? So confused 😐
Molly has been Re-released and rumors are that Kit or maybe Kirsten will be coming back soon. Kaya is still fully available. I believe the rest (including kit excluding Kirsten) are available but just the doll and none of the rest of the collection. But they deserve the spotlight!
Samantha was an original one. I chose the Molly doll but almost got Samantha.
They said Kit, but the rest? I grew up on them! I saw Molly last year at the Chicago location. Josefina was my fave. So sad they're gone

The matching historical doll and girl outfits im loving right now I think that's a hint of what's to come in future releases. I love the twins by the way

Most of them are very old. That Samantha outfit was sold decades ago, next to Samantha in original outfit. It was funny that they new that the new Samantha dress doesn't match her era at all so they used the old one😂🤦♀️.
RIP all the old dolls that survived literal wars and escaped slavery.

Ok but the girl they had with Melody actually looks a lot like her. Also, they've already had dolls with both those names. I've never seen them repeat names before, that's interesting.
Yeah Isabel is fine since it’s spelled different but with Nicki I think she could’ve been a Nicole since the 07 Girl of the year’s name is Nicki but at least their last names are similar

I think they were only showing the ones from the 20th century because they now have historical dolls for every decade in the 20th century

Ouch... Are they considering cubing Kaya and Josefina? They haven't got anything new for their collections for the longest time. Molly, Addy & Felicity are only available without their collections and the rest is in the mythical "archives".
@@freyja6360 Josefina is already cubed, however Kaya's collection is still fully available on the website and in stores. I don't know why they didn't show Kaya. I understand why they didn't show the retired ones like Marie - Grace, Cecile Rey, Caroline, Felicity, and Kirsten though, but they have Molly, Josephina, and Addy still available.

Actually, They are not the first EVER twins in American girl history. The first ever twins in American Girl history are the travel twins McKayla and Michael.

Wow, so 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s are all blond-haired, blue-eyed white dolls. American girl sure loves to make that same doll over and over again. Most of their dolls already look a lot alike cause they don't have that many different face molds, but to still give most of them the same skin color, eye color, and hair color is ridiculous. Other races of girls existed after the 1960s, American Girl. I bet the 2000s will be blond haired and blue eyed too.

AG still has a long way to go, especially since dolls of color usually get less promotion from them and it's time for them to address that and stop hiding from the questions about it. They did Claudie dirty. Plus the fact that every Asian doll is absolutely whitewashed is something really annoying. They always get only the palest skin/vinyl tone they can produce at the time and we all know that's not how most Asian people look. Some do but the kids I know had to order their CYOs for double the price because they wanted to have dolls that look more realistic and similar to them.

It would be nice if the host actually took time to prepare and learned how to pronounce Nanea's name. It would take less of her time than it took for the girls to dress up. I guess it wasn't "white" enough😒... Pointing out that the girls were nervous was unnecessary as well. We can assume that they were but there was no reason to put that on blast. That probably made them even more nervous and they were adorable and did a good job!

As a black person, I feel like we need more asian and hispanic dolls. Hispanics were a major part of 90s history and trend setting. this was the perfect time to add them in. there are a plethora of white American girl dolls and quite honestly its a slap in the face to all of the other cultures that built America. Probably can count each "minority" races on one hand whereas the others I would need at least 3 hands. This isn't a dig at anyone I just feel like proper and plentiful representation is needed.
I would even go as far as to say that the dolls could've been biracial of some kind. This would have been the PERFECT moment to do so.
Hispanics can be of any race, including white, blue-eyed and blond. So I'll emphasize they need more dolls of color whether Hispanic or otherwise. They still only have two dolls that are black. Only 1 that's Asian and only one that's Hawaiian, and only one that's Native American. The last thing they needed was another set of blond haired, blue eyed white dolls to be honest. Nothing against them but the imbalance is crazy. They got over a dozen of them compared to the one or two they have of any other race. Hell, most of the 1900s dolls they just showed in this video from the different decades were also blond haired and blue eyed white dolls. They didn't need more. As much as African Americans make up and created so much of America's history, culture, music, cuisine, language, etc. they sure don't make a lot of African American dolls. And they still only made one Native American doll and that's for the 1600s as if Native American girls didn't exist in any other century or decade. Could have let the 1970s be a Native American girl. Native American youth had a lot of activists and movements in the 1970s to protect their land and reconnect with their heritage. But what did they give us? Another white, blond-eyed, blue eyed doll. *sigh*
