- this June, 1998 interview with Bruce Dickinson was just before the July 1998 release of his 5th solo album The Chemical Wedding . Bruce played the album for me 15 mins before the interview .Bruce talks about Samson,Arthur Brown,Clive Burr,Thunderstick ,Mel Gaynor, Iron Maiden, Number of the Beast,Piece of Mind ,Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper,Marilyn Manson,The Death of Cozy Powell ,
"what's next for Bruce Dickinson?" "Well in a years time I will be re-joining Iron Maiden and create an album labelled Brave New World!"
This interview is golden and fun to watch it almost a decade from when it took place.
I just love him. I love all of him. He's a very cute man. Even today he is still beautiful.
Such a revealing interview over the heel that it might have been working with Steve trying to control all production/mixing decisions and putting down Bruce’s and Adrian’s wonderful songwriting approach. I’m here looking at this interview after hearing Senjtsu which pretty much sums up what happens when you have a producer that bowls to the band leader instead of poking the band around to be better, cut off excesses, trim down the long intro/outros and just bring out a damm good sound out of everyone. I wish one day Roy Z or Andy Sneap could produce a Maiden album, never gonna happen though… anxiously awaiting for the next solo work from Bruce
Funny that he said Iron Maiden back then had been in a 'Brave New World'. Great interview!
He is sooo cute!!!
Fun to see this 24 years later! Thanks for making it available!
I just love the way he tells it...
Great interview.
Yes, he talks about Arthur!
...AWESOME!!!
21:30 he says “brave new world”
I was going to write this also 😂
I like when he doesn’t simply let them talk but challenges them from giving him the superficial bs answer
I wish someone had told me how good Bruce's albums were back in the day. Anyway, I have them now. Chemical Wedding in particular is really good.
nice
Looking back, It's hard to fathom that Bruce gave us the"The Chemical Wedding" and Maiden gave us the giant turd "Virtual XI" around the same time. Bruce was totally validated in his opinion.
Both albums are good, Virtual XI a bit better
Chemical wedding was much better
dicki rules
"CROW-ley" like the bird...c'mon, Bruce. Sheesh.
