Well... ... Didn't need the Final frontier or the one after. Still, the first three since 2000 were great. Would be nice if they made another good one before the end. There's a big difference between writing music to prove a point (like when he first joined and when he got back in again) or merely flying in for a six month rush to get it done and have some fun: A difference the seasoned fan can hear. So drop all the arse licking for a moment and be discerning.
Of course BD is a great singer, but what I like about him most is that he's not a run-of-the-mill idiot singer. He's a sharp guy and always interesting to listen to.
"Of course BD is a great singer, but what I like about him most is that he's not a run-of-the-mill idiot singer. He's a sharp guy and always interesting to listen to." Troll.
Charlie Rose supported the censorship of music in the 80's & has not once recanted doing so. He should consider it not only an honor & a privilege but the very height of charity that Bruce would even sit down with him!
Way back when....Guns and Roses was opening for Maiden....45 mins before show.. Slash and Duff come out and announce axle is sick and G N R will not be playing.... 20 mins later Maiden took the stage and played for over 3 hours!!! (Sacramento,CA) That says it all about Iron Maiden!
Kenny F Powers that is why I'm not a gnr. Fan. Newsteed . Said he learned what not to do from watching gnr.. go on stage late ever night. You start the show on time every time.
That was the Seventh Son of Seventh Son Tour. When they came to KC it was after Axle had a further melt down and an 80's metal band opened up. In hindsight, I'm glad GnR pussed out.
What's really awesome is the level of difficulty of their songs... I mean, they rehearse the hell out of their tour set lists, so those are a given... but to just have another hour or so of complex material ready to go instantly, unrehearsed... that's awesome.
Bruce Dickinson is not only a hero to me and such an incredibly awesome vocalist and person in so many ways. He is such a multi talented, flying jets, fencing, etc, and a highly intelligent person and a wonderful spokesman. Iron Maiden rules forever.
Not to mention he fulfils Make A Wish requests ! He runs an Airline, during Covid, he paid his employees out of his pocket to keep them, not only fed , but he knows how important good employees are! He's an ABSOLUTE LEGEND!
I've been a Maiden fan since I first heard Flight Of Icarus in 1983 and then went and bought the first 3 albums and any 12 inch "maxi-singles" (as they were labelled in the day) I could find. The thing I love most about Maiden is that they have had a MAJOR sense of humour from the very beginning, they're very intelligent, they've written countless songs I love to this day and at 50 years old I still love their music. One of the "metal" bands that you can grow old with and love every minute of it because you don't have to be embarrassed when they open their mouth in an interview. Maiden is just Gold. And by the way, kids...this is what happens when you shun "celebrity," don't let drugs rule your life and stay in shape as you get older. You get to play music longer and, in Bruce's case, your voice holds up even better. UP THE IRONS ALWAYS!!!!!!!
Loving Iron Maiden since i was a kid and bought my first album 1988: "seventh son of a seventh son". The love is increasing, the more interviews i see. Truly one of the best bands of all times and ever there will be. Take care Bruce, Adrian, Steve, Janick, Steve, Nicko, all the staff and fans.
I love Bruce Dickinson's matter of fact manner of speaking and his humble stoic composure. A true ambassador of music and noble in the most English way. In my opinion, Dickinson brings class to Heavy Metal in the same sort of way that his British compatriot Paul Weller is the embodiment of class in the realm of contemporary Soul, R&B and Power Pop.
Iron Maiden was the soundtrack of my youth and i will be grateful for that till i die. it taught me to be curious and imaginative and fearless. through them, i discovered literature and history and many things awesome. thank you
seen my share of concerts back in the day, seen Maiden two or three times, but this was the only band, that was NEVER late for a gig and ALWAYS sober on stage. Up the Irons, aye!
"We do-i really hope-good shows!" You're kidding right? Their shows are much much more than anyone's else's. Others just stand and play they costume, jump around, make a theatre at the same time!
The one thing I love about Iron Maiden is that unlike so many other bands, they refused to sell out their music for radio play or commercialism. Its balls to the wall electric guitar, drums, and bass. Love it or hate it, there is no in between. Unlike other lead singers, drugs and alcohol haven't taken their toll on Bruce Dickinson. He looks fabulous for his age and the voice is still there after all these years.
Refuse to sell out? Every album is the same thing, they're the definition of commercial, mainstream metal. Not that they don't make good music, but their music is totally commercial.
So much respect for you Bruce Dickinson ... my entire life listening Iron Maiden and deep in my heart I enjoyed every little second. I went to 7 concerts and I can't wait to go to Legacy Of The Beast USA
Metal the meaning. To be family and stay by eachothers side. To never back down. To remember the fallen. To give thanks to the dead. To give peace and freedom to those who can't find it!! That's what metal is to me and Iron Maiden remembers them all. Thank-you Iron Maiden for the greatest way of explaining honour andloyalty through song and music.
I believe that too. Iron maiden is not a heavy metal band. Just see other heavy metal bands. Iron maiden os not like them. Iron maiden is IRON FUCKING MAIDEN.
I first heard Maiden in 1984, the same year I switched off the telly. Now my sons are huge Maiden fans, as well. And I'm growing more sons, currently quite small boys, and they will be Maiden fans as well.
Haven't seen Maiden in concert in 32 years, but have always referred to how great the ones that I went to blew other concerts away. Now, 30+ years later, I overheard my co-workers the other day talk about how they couldn't believe how incredible and energetic the Iron Maiden concert was the other week. Amazing how Bruce and the band hasn't lost a thing in all of these years!!
36 years ago I saw The Beast in the East tour - NEVER STOPPED SEEING THEM - except when Blaze fronted them - Bruce is my favorite beyond the Air Raid Siren vocals
Bruce is Aces in my book. Saw them twice back in the day, was at the Live After Death concert taping at Long Beach (scream for me!) Haven't followed them for the past decade or so but they always have a place in my young man's hard rock heart. The guy is a licensed commercial jet pilot on top of everything else, smart bugger, and his attitude towards life and music continue to inspire me. Up the Irons!!
I'm glad that we have Iron Maiden in our lifetime, 'cause there is not a single band in the world that could replace them. They are diamonds and treasures in a sea of mediocrity. First concert I went to was during their 2001 Brave New World Tour. I loved it so much and felt very fortunate to have seen them live. Second concert I went to see them was in Fort Lauderdale in 2004 or 2007, I can't remember the exact date. Anyways, they are always excellent.
Bruce has had quite a successful venture branching out into the world without really knowing what's outside the bubble but breaks the barrier every time.
I love Bruce, he was a (just a) singer at my childhood and now he's a some kind of superman who shows you that you can really use that time on earth smart.
Don't forget that the term heavy metal was used in the Steppenwolf song Born to be Wild. Uriah Heep is also in that group that helped to develop the heavy metal sound. Black Sabbath, Free, Deep purple are other groups that come to mind. I appreciate his candor.
Bruce is a pretty extraordinary guy. Besides being an amazing singer he's also super smart. And Maiden are one of the all time great bands, though I do believe when he rejoined, it wasn't quite the same. Of course they've had enormous success and I'm happy for them, but their most vital work was from 1982 to 1988. They still put on a great show though. But the best material is from that time.

Things have to be categorized so people can understand them better. Interesting that this guy is doing an interview with Bruce Dickinson. Would never have thought he would have. But, I really found it interesting that Bruce said he felt out of place when he wasn't in Iron Maiden and admitting to maybe making a wrong decision. Bands like Iron Maiden come once in a lifetime. Exceptional musicians and creators of something that will last the test of time.

Bruce and Maiden are in the genre of musical integrity, skill and passion 🤘
nicely said.....they are the consummate professionals.
"I found out I could sing"....He has one of the greatest voices in the genre. I consider Halford, Dio, and Him to have the best metal voices ever.
And Geoff Tate
Halford, Dio, and Dickinson are 100% the best
Can't forget Geoff Tate of Queensryche

He’s good, best was Freddie Mercury.
Freddie Mercury was the best, period end of sentence!!!
I won't argue with anyone about Freddie as I am a big fan too.
I'd like Freddy more if he actually did metal
Blackie Lawless deserves recognition also
