It's hard to top Contra and Castlevania though. I'd say if you want a new game of that type and aren't expecting perfection, this would definitely be worth playing. Here's to this becoming an even better game as it gets updated.
I kinda disagree with a lot of points in your review, I found the enemies to be really fun to fight, and the combat to be overall very satisfying. If an enemy lunges at you really fast it’s because they have some sort of tentacle or hindleg, and with a well placed shot they can be shot off. Getting close to an enemy really isn’t a viable option, and imo it’s not a big deal because most of the weapons are projectile based anyways. You can also use the knock back from the ultimates to fling yourself in the air which is very helpful for some enemies. I would say if you’re into physics based games such as zombotron, source of madness is a worthy purchase
@@BigRetroShow after playing it a bit more I feel like the second level, the caves, is just way too long. Longest and in my opinion the hardest level in the game if you get bad items
When looking at this gameplay, it looks really messy. I bet it's better when you play it yourself but somehow watching this i just feel like i wouldn't enjoy this for too long.🤔 Nice review though!
Is this a game that you would be interested in playing? Why or why not?
I stink at games like that.. ^^^ so i would say no..
@@bwicked3059 I stink at them too lol especially rogue lites but I did have fun playing
“One of the most prominent writers of his time?” He was as obscure, unappreciated and underpaid as could be.
In hindsight
Hm. Battle being a problem in a fighting game is a gamebreaker. I hope they fix it since it seems to have a lot of atmosphere and the graphs is good.
Me too. It is a fun game despite the ridiculous kickback

Thanks for the comment. I think the combat would benefit by speeding it up a little and maybe tweaking the kickback. I died a lot because of it

@@lstairvideos1330 totally agree. It’s such a grind
Amazing review 👍
Thank you much appreciated
I’m probably not going to play this unless I get it cheap. It’s just not my kind of game. Great review cheers 🍻
Thanks guys . Yeah it’s a great looking game but the combat just sort of muddies it for me

It’s a very slow game. It does have its charms but they need to work on the combat
Get good
