Going to buy a Megane RS 250 tomorrow (So excited) but I'm shocked that the Golf didn't pull away considering it had so much more power. Renault have clearly made a real track monster if it can do that. I'll be sure to post some videos of mine when I take it to Nurburgring. I get the feeling I won't match this time though :(
The stock Golf VI R has 260 HP or so. But it's still slower than the 250 Mégane R.S. Even the Golf VII R with 280 HP isn't faster than the Mégane R.S. Trophy with 265 HP.

The whole point of a hot hatch is the entire package, not just the speed it can go round a track when it happens to be dry. If that's what you're looking for, you like/have the wrong car.
und das weisst du woher? der Golf hat die leistung sehr wohl, am Megane ist allerdings laut info das cup-paket verbaut, zudem wurden AGA und ansaugsystem verändert. insgesamt liegen die beiden autos gerade mal ca. 40ps auseinander. dafür hat der Golf eh den allrad und dementsprechend mehr gewicht mitzuschleppen. zwar fahre ich selbst einen Golf R, jedoch muss ich vor den fahrleistungen des Megane schon den hut ziehen. das teil ist ab werk deutlich mehr auf sport getrimmt als der R.
Nice video and nice race... golf R fan here and for me golf r was faster but tnr megane had a better driver and had much better handdling. Golfs suspension was all over the place.

Wenn es ein Neuwagen gewesen ist müsste der Megane 265PS haben, naja egal der Megane hat auf der Nordschleife 8:08 gefahren, zeigt mit ein Auto was schneller in dieser Klasse ist!!! Das Fahrwerk ist einfach nur gut abgestimmt, wir haben einen Vorführwagen als Trophy Edition, und ich muss sagen das die echt gut Laufen!
What!? Megane RS is built by the guys who work with Renault F1 - the biggest F1 engine supplier. It IS reliable, the power, gearing and steering is perfect. Golf R is an amazing car as well, but it really doesn't need all wheel drive with this kind of power - it just add's weight = sloopy handling. All a FWD car w/270hp needs is a good mechanical LSD + good tires (example - Focus RS which still handles better than most AWD/RWD cars in its price range). IMO Golf R is an affordable sports-GT car.
By the way, I will always prefer a real racing car stock with 250hp (or the last version 265-270hp) like the Megane 3RS, at a GT car made for easy right lines and hightways like the Golf R non stock there with its 338hp...
Naja, der Stuck ist mit dem Golf R eine 8:26 gefahren, das ist eine ordentliche Rundenzeit würde ich sagen. Der Megane RS ist auf der Strecke ein extrem schnelles Auto für diesen Preis. Der Golf R ist dafür das komfortablere Auto, Preislich dennoch zu hoch angesetzt. Dann lieber den GTI. Hatte bis jetzt nur einmal den Notlauf auf dem Nürburgring von wegen Öldruck niedrig. Das liegt aber daran wenn der Ölstand kurz über Minimum ist, ist er über der Mitte, passiert das ganze nicht. ;D
habe früher mal gesagt, dass ick nie nie nie im leben nen Franzosen fahren will...hat sich aber geändert! Der Megane RS mit Cup Paket und den geilen Recaros is ja mal das geilste Ringtool, was man derzeit für um die 25.000€ als Neuwagen bekommt. Werde den nächste Woche mal Probefahren...bin e hat gespannt... Ergo, sag niemals nie!

ich weiß immer nicht was diese "Komfortabler" Sachen sind???? Dann wäre ein Jaguar besser als ein Porsche weil ne Hänger Kupplung dran passt oder man nen Sektflaschen Halter hat oder wie??? Leute....das sind Kompakt SPORTLER...sportlich..ihr wisst schon ...dass mit dem härter...gut auf der Strasse liegen...Jetzt gewinnt auf einmal ein wagen der der "Vorzeige" Sportler sein will, weil er komfortabler ist?? der Golf hat doch Original 270PS @ 2000ccm, der Renault 250/265PS(Trophy) ebenfalls @ 2000ccm...
wo soll denn da ein Unterschied herkommen!?
Zumal der Renault ja nur hinterher fahren muss
und die Lücken die der Golf reißt nutzen kann.
Stufe 2 Golf R hätte gerade mal die besagten 330PS.
Beim Megane sind es dann schon 310PS.

The driver in the M3RS want absolutly rest behind the Golf R because really the M3RS should be by far ahead a Golf R which is not a track's car but just a "family GT"
Or the driver in the M3RS is bad or less good than this in the Golf R quite simply...
90 HP more has GOLF BUT STILL SUCKS!
