Fun Note: You remember that Ainz doesn't want to waste a single portion of somebody's body back in Season 3? He respected Zanac so much that he gave him a proper burial even with no merit to it for him.
That's what surprised me the most. I thought he asked about the body to use it for something like the armour but no, he wants to bury him. That's the highest honor Ainz can give one that has died. That adds to the brutal line "Even if they beg for death, don't kill them too quickly". This is Ainz at his most livid. Before he'd scream, yell, laugh and just flex his power when he was mad but this time, he was calm and methodically ruthless. He actually fully respected Zanac as a warrior. He did the exact same thing with Gazef. Both him and Zanac knew that they would die but still stood ready to fight for their kingdom. Unlike all the other mercys of an animal (using every part) and an offering (transform into a death knight) he thought of both of them as true warriors deserving of full human respect (an actual peaceful burial)
Small detail: look at how Ainz drops to his chair after giving Albedo the head. He usually sits in a regal matter, to maintain his image as a great ruler. But this time he just slumped in it, a little to the side, as if to say "Fuck, I really don't care anymore". He was 100% done.

The thing that sucks most is Ainz was (even if slightly) thinking about a way to spare them bcs he gained so much respect of Zanac. So now the entire kingdom will suffer endlessly bcs in Ainz's eyes all the nobles in re estiz are just unloyal beasts
He’s not wrong. Re-Estiz fell prey to what I call the Hydra Scenario, where the royal family of a country is too lax with disciplining their nobility and keeping them in line, until eventually the royals find themselves riding a hydra, and the only reason they haven’t been killed and eaten yet was because all the other heads would rip into any head that tried.
the Sad thing is what happened to Zanac has happened before in History probably the closest parallel is the Kingdom of Egypt killing the Roman Rival of Caesar, Pompei the Great then presenting the Head to Caesar as a show of loyalty. Caesar was so angry at what they did and for killing one of the men Caesar respected most even if he was an enemy he declared war that very same meeting screaming at them.
Sheera is 100% correct Ainz was disgusted with the nobles for turning on Zanac, as he respected him, and not only did they kill him for their own selfish thoughts, but they also killed the man who convinced Ainz to have mercy on them; instead of killing the noble that started all of this (Phillip) they tried the easy way out instead of the respectable thing.
Let's goooo. The anime adaptation is good, but what I really liked the LN was Ainz basically said "They begged for their lives, so I'll make sure they live long lives... even if they beg for death, don't give it to them (and their families)." Good job nobles, you played yourselves. Also, random thing from LN. The war horse that Ainz rode to talk to Zanac on, could've defeated that entire army alone. THE HORSE. Just another reminder that Ainz's folks are just too strong for the New World.
Worse than that. In volume 9 chapter 4 it’s said that 3 soul eaters were accidentally spawned and passively killed a city of 100,000 beast men. Then in volume 13 they wiped out hundreds of thousands of jaldabaoths army by just walking around lazily.
@@zerofang009 soul eaters have a instant death aura and they are gaining strength from the souls they are absorbing. Its true, this army cant win against one soul eater
Salute to Zanac dude. Thought that he was a stereotypical jealous prince at first, but he was actually the best among his siblings and had a realistic view instead of his father's idealistic views. He went down as a true king 👑 The kingdom needed him, but didn't deserve him. Also props to the representative for siding with him, I thought he would have betrayed him as well.
The best was actually Renner. Her issue is she was so much of a genius that it alianated people from her. The slander and mistreatment and looks as if she wasn't even human from not only the nobles and servants, but even her brother's mentally damaged her. That is what made her so strange and unable to really express, which is also why she is obsessed with Climb. When she wanted him to die so he could be revived it was so that he would be weakened so he would be bound even more to her as she would nurse him. What happened is that Demiurge realised her potential and Albedo when she got to know about her did to. Demiurge and Albedo are the greatest minds of Nazzarick closely followed by Pandora's actor. They might dislike humans and see them as below, but they can still see potential in some and humans don't necessarily have to stay human. With someone like Shalltear around they can easily transform some humans into vampires.
@@seynoonrae2474 So she wasn't the best? She was a evil person. She didn't care about the kingdom. She was never going to be a proper ruler. Yes she was smarter then Zanac but Zanac was without a doubt the ruler the kingdom desperately needed at the time
@@davidc. She became like that through the treatment she received from her peers and family. Remember she was the one that abolished slavery, most governmental stuff in the kingdom was only working because of her. If not for her in the kingdom there would be no free people only royalty, nobles and serfs and slaves. Even the soldiers you see in their army aren't soldier's, but forced conscripts. The thing is many of her accomplishments came from when she was young. That is what caused the disdain and her inhuman treatment were nobles and her brother wouldn't even see her as human. Remember that even Nix and the theocracy hold Renner in high regards for her achievements in support of humanity and those, especially the theocracy have one main focus. That is protecting humanity, it is said that without the theocracy the other species in that world would have genocided the humans and made them extinct centuries ago. Being recognized by them in a positive way for humanity is a good sign. Yet even those show disdain for Renner as they find it abnormal that all those ideas and reforms came from such a girl. If Renner was treated differently she wouldn't have become obsessed with Climb and Demiurge and Albedo might not have been able to get her on their side.
His meeting with Zanac had 2 purposes. 1. It helped Ainz realize the NPCs are actually precious to him. They're the most important thing in this world, so much so he doesn't care about finding other players 2. It was a learning experience in proper royal etiquette Anyone that says "Ainz was reconsidering his decision" is full of shit. There is NO SCENE in the novel where he thinks about NOT killing them all. He was simply going to do it with mercy, but the nobles fucked it up.
He was never going to spare them, yes. But Zanac did plant a "maybe I should" idea in his head. It was a very minor thing that was never going to actually change his mind, but it was there. Think of it like it went from 100% going to kill them all to 99.9999999999999999999% going to kill them. Insignificant in the long run, but still a human got that 0.00000000000000000000001% out of him. Nobody ever did that before.
@ Apoptos Yes Ainz was originally planning on allowing some survivors to escape. Out of respect for Zanac and in accordance with his promise to Nigredo and Pestonia. Too bad the nobles betrayal had convinced Ainz that the Kingdom was undeserving of even that much consideration.
@@DmonHiro No, that's a stretch. Apoptos already made his comment. He already intended to let some go as a consideration to Nigredo and Pestonia. He wasn't hell bent on annihilating everyone. That consideration went out the window once the nobles did Zanac dirty.
Fun fact: Zanac killed a couple of those nobles before they called their mercenaries to deal with the prince in their stead. Cowards indeed, can’t do their own dirty work.
Fun facts: 1. Ains's talk with Zanac actually made him consider just wiping out the Kingdom's army and leaving it at that. He respected Zanac *that* much. So those nobles betraying him essentially sealed the Kingdom's fate. 2. The author actually confirmed in a what if scenario that if Nazarick hadn't arrived , Zanac and Renner would have actually turned the Kingdom into a respectable and prosperous country. 3. The funny thing about Ains sending the nobles to Neuronist is that she restrains her victims in a way to where they phisically *can't* talk , let alone beg for death. 4. Yeah, the dude who looks like Clementine is actually her twin brother. 5. There was a cut exchange between the Black Scripture and Azuth that made the former want to kill the latter for implying to know certain secrets of the Theocracy
Honestly I feel Ainz might’ve been moved enough to call off the slaughter all together, if he had the chance. The nobles were so quick with their mutiny for Ainz to make up his mind. Since it was Zanac that convinced Ainz the Kingdom still had value I would think he would’ve preferred to keep him alive if given the option.
1. He didn't reconsider 2. True 3. Kind of true, the members sunlight scripture were questioned and somehow died upon the 3rd question. 4. Yes 5. Rufus, or Roof-ass. An undead that seems to be among the upper echelons of the theocracy and the first follower of "the god of death," Surshana
Number 2 will not work Re-Estize need Renner, Zannac, and *Gazef* for the kingdom to be successful. But yall remember, right? Gazef will die at the village. So yeah. Jircniv > Whole Re-Estize.
The story of The Kingdom is basically an endless chain of disrespect: The nobles conspired to get rid of Gazef and refused to listen to any of his advice. The nobles that allied with the Sorcerer Kingdom betrayed and backstabbed them by attacking a convoy full of relief supplies. The nobles then blamed the Sorcerer Kingdom for the attack, and protected the person who perpetrated it. The nobles then killed a man that Ainz respected thinking that he'd have any use for traitors.
Ya the nobles only care about one's social status they don't care about one's skills and accomplishments Gazef was a commoner who could of killed 100 dragons solo and the nobles would still treat him like sh*t
@@mr.brazilian5167 Gazef was close to the level of the frost dragon lord, who is a very strong dragon(not compared to true lords). He could probably beat 100 adult dragons, if not at once, at least within his lifetime. Theoretically, at least

@@mr.brazilian5167 you essentially just repeated what I said. Gazef was a high level, close enough to the FDL to matter. What's a sibling? I see select diverse groups of people with reused faces all the time. I've even seen some people using the same face at the same time.
Zanac a real one. Ainz lost all hope for the kingdom the moment these nobles brought the king's head. Instead of bringing Phillips head they brought the wrong one. They deserve everything they've got.
Let's add some fun facts(not spoiler) : The pitcher that ainz uses to pour water has an endless amount of water in it. Ainz’s horse is called {soul eater} and 3 of those destroyed a nation a few hundred years ago, they have an instant death aura always active around them that kills everyone without immunity(unless they turned it off) , and eat souls to gain more power. Ainz uses them for transportation in his kingdom. Ainz has an spell called creat greater item, and he can make anything he wants with it, that's how he made the table and chairs in this meeting with zanac. The title of black scripture members is like this: clementine's brother (one man army), the lazy girl (infinite magic), the big dude(strongest human).
1. Clementine from season 1 is the former member of the black scripture. That dude is her twin brother. The black scripture is the special forces of the Slane Theocracy, the second strongest military on the continent. Ainz is the strongest military. Enri’s goblins are 3rd. 2. Ainz was never considering withdrawing. Anyone saying he was is lying. Ainz was considering how to kill people peacefully, but then the nobles pulled that stunt. And he legit got mad as hell, and sent all the nobles and their families to be tortured, and in the LN he said “they want to live, so don’t kill them even if they beg for death” 3. Taking with Zanac, that’s the first moment Ainz fully accepts his friends aren’t in this world. He can tell players have been in this world, but he just kinda gives up hope on finding his friends during that conversation. And in that moment another piece of his humanity dies.
In the novel there was a line where Ains was asked "Is what you've done not enough to prove you shouldn't be defied?", and he replied "I tought my demonstration on the Katze plains was enough but yet nobles from your country challenged me."
The funny thing is: Ainz could literally do a 180 on all his plans, and the guardians would all go along with it. One comment I read years ago based on the argument between Sebas and Demiurge sums it up perfectly: If Ainz says to kill every baby they see Sebas will do it without hesitation, and if Ainz says no more hurting or killing babies then Demiurge will make sure not one hair is harmed on their heads.
The saddest thing about this is that, according to the author, Zanac would've actually grown to be an amazing king if Nazarick never showed up in the world
Not really. If Nazarick didn't show up. Carne Village would've been destroyed, Gazef would've died, Clementine would've turned E-Rantel into a Zombie infested city. Leading to the Empire conquering the weakened Kingdom and killing all its Royalty and nobles, Zanac included. There no happy endings in this new world without Nazarick, unfortunately.
@@madmoai That's assuming the events leading up to Nazarick's arrival were the same. The scenario in the volume only vaguely states that Zanac, Renner, Marqui Raeven, and Gazef would've been able to push back the Empire had they worked well enough together and were truly motivated to do so *(Renner likely being the deciding factor)* That and Barbaro dying earlier on
@@casuallectures2655 You're forgetting that the Theocracy wanted the Empire to take over the Kingdom. Meaning Gazef would have been killed by the Sunlight Scripture.
@@madmoai Who knows? The entire scenario is still worded vaguely, so literally any factor could come into play. All it says is that the 4 of them would've succeeded in pushing back the Empire and making a stronger kingdom had they actually worked together and had Zanac taken the throne, no further elaboration beyond that
to clearify - he was expecting a strong person to come he wasnt expecting mecha armor from iggdrasill . the action was expected the actor was not expected thats why he only sent 2 death knights with the undead the goal was to spare some ppl . so if you want to be tecknical you was right to a point and wrong to a point .
Curiously, in the LN Clementine makes a random comment about having a brother who was better than her and whom her parents loved more. Don't forget that Renner knows exactly what's going to happen, she probably proposed to kidnap Raeven's son in the first place, so during the whole conversation she was probably laughing in her mind.😅
Yoooo I’m so glad you guys are finally caught up with the episodes so you can get a pure first reaction like the rest of us (most of us) and enjoy the episodes week by week
Also, the translation wasn't very good for the last part with Ainz and Aura: It's not "Even if they beg for death, don't kill them too quickly" it's "Even after they beg for death, don't let them die for now". While it might seem very similar, there's a key difference. The former orders them to eventually kill them after they beg for death, but the later tells them to NOT kill them even after they beg, at least for now. He basically ordered from them to be kept alive and tortured until he says stop. THAT'S how pissed off he was. He never directly ordered pure cruelty before.
The coolest part about him ordering that was that in the entire ending when he was pissed, there wasn’t ANY inner monologue. The Sorcerer King Ainz Ooal Gown, ruler of Nazarick, and the little office worker/gamer in his head were completely in agreement with everything he said.
zanac and gazef are two people that Ainz respects. Zanac managed to ask Ainz to be a little merciful but those idiots only infuriated Ainz and ended up killing everyone.
You didn't read Ainz saying "why is he wearing Yggsdrasil armor?!"? He knew someone strong would eventually come out but he didn't expect the armor that's why he sounds confused
I’m so thankful that Sheera’s face just lit up when Neuronist’s name was brought up. That kidney stone scene was horrific and those traitors are going to be spending a LONG time in her care
Legend is that the nobles only bought Zanac's head to Ainz because they can't carry his body due to his ginormous balls. Mad respect to Zanac, may you rest in peace 🙏
Another missed nuance of the translation was between Zanac and Ainz. This also ties into the people who say that Ainz was considering sparing them thanks to Zanac. No, he was not. But Zanac made him think "what if?" if only for a moment. Going back to the conversations, when Zanac asks Ainz to kill them without suffering, the subs said that Ainz would kill them gently, but that's not what he said. What he really said was "I'm going to make sure to at least kill YOU as gently as I can". The gesture was only offered to Zanac, in particular, not to the whole army. And what Zanac did manage, unknowingly, was to get Ainz to consider killing them ALL gently. Except the bastards who will now wish they died, while they suffer more then anyone else in the history of their world has, and probably will suffer. Remember, in Nazarick, death is a blessing
Dante in his book The Inferno relegated betrayed to the lowest level of Hell, I imagine he would raise a wine glass saluting Ains decision-making on the fate of those nobles. Remember in season one Ains gave Aura and Mare a glass of water so Ains showed some respect for Zanac even at the beginning of their talk.
Zanac saw the human side in Ainz... That was the best part. He got a real talk for the first time since the Gazef talk and he was really calm. they destroyed a precious memory.
RIP for our Prince Zanac he was actually a pretty enjoyable character and was the only one who cared for his Kingdom the talk between him and Ainz was really nice now we wait for next episode for the slaughter to begin
It reminds me of The Secret History of the Mongols. Jamukha was a Mongol military and political leader and the chief rival to Temüjin (later Genghis Khan) in the unification of the Mongol tribes. Also Jamukha was an anda ("childhood friend") and a blood brother to Temüjin. They were good friends, but they had their own responsibilities to their sub-tribes. In fall of 1201, a great battle broke out between Jamukha's alliance and the Khereit-Khamag Mongol alliance (Temujin's alliance) at the Ergune valley. This decisive battle, known as the Battle of the Thirteen sides, ended with Temujin's victory and eventual ascension as Khan of all united Mongol tribes. Jamukha was eventually betrayed to Temüjin by his followers in 1206. Temüjin executed Jamukha's betrayers on the principle that betrayal merits the harshest punishment. The Secret History of the Mongols states that Temüjin offered renewal of their brotherhood, but Jamukha insisted that just as there was room for only one sun in the sky, there was room only for one Mongol lord. He asked to be executed by dying a noble death without the spilling of blood. His request was granted by having his back broken by Temüjin's soldiers. It is said that Temujin buried Jamukha in the golden belt that he had given to Jamukha when they formed their bond of brotherhood.
But it's sadly not true . Ramposa , Zannac's father , was an awful indecisive king , and doomed his country . Sure he was not evil and bloodthirsty , and he had one noble attempt to sacrifice himself , but that's it . His apathy and "let's not rock the boat" attitude ruined them . He constantly ignored advice from his best people , and even defended trash . The only times he could even look good among his kingdom's factions , was indirectly because of Ainz's actions . He was oblivious to Renner being such a monster as an added bonus , when enough people could spot it . He let the 8 fingers take over his country .. hell he did not even seem aware of their existence . He even managed to be one of the only leaders to not have met Ainz directly , despite the obvious need to do so
You know at this part 4:04 when Renner smiled... pretty sure she was happy that they stayed and fight and not run away. Its all going according to plan for her...

The way they showed how Ainz was angry was really good. That feeling when you are so angry or upset that you just have to take a seat and how you simply don't care what the other party has to say. Ainz shows respect to everyone but he didn't even bother to sit up for those nobles.

It's interesting that Ainz said "the ultimate goal of all life is hapiness" and in battle against Shalltear he used the spell "the goal of all life is death". I know it's just a spell name, but you could take it as Ainz's motives changing to more human while his actions are more and more monsterous.
the dude that has clementine's face, that is her borther ^^ Zanac death just pissed azin off for 2 reasons. 1. he repeaceted Zanac 2. ainz beelives in his guild mates and npc's friendship/loyalty while the nobled showed they are betrayers and even had the never to ask to be rewarded for it. so now they have to suffer horribly for this trangression.
Ainz respect for Zanac was so high he called him dauntless and even commended him saying that is how a true king should act. A shame that he died that way. Ainz just needs to rid that kingdom of the filth
React to Zanac. He didn't deserve to die like that. Ainz got so angry that he pretended to show mercy in front of the nobles. And now they and their families will be tortured.
I loved this scene with zanac because they left nothing out from their novel interaction. It’s one of the few good scenes that was able to be kept in its entirety. No alterations or cuts
Nazarick is full of monsters that use humans in some way or form. Until then, any humans that entered nazarick were captured criminals or mercenaries tortured to gain info on their new surroundings and their unique martial arts. THAT is why death is mercy in nazarick
Good job remembering. That dude is Clementine's twin brother. They used to serve together in the Black Scriptures until Clementine went corrupt, stole the crown of wisdom, and fled the Theocracy.
The one thing I always liked is that they keep making new characters meet older characters that already in some way compared strength with Nazarick so we all still know that all those people couldn't win without room for hope
Author confirmed that if nazaric didn't appeared and zanac somehow managed to ascend to throne, he could have saved it from all this corruption and made it a great kingdom.
Zanac also wished to know if his brother was dead at the end of the talk not out of brotherly love, the series makes it clear that wasn’t a thing along the siblings. Zanac had just been thinking that he was only a replacement king the whole time, that people saw him as just a placeholder until his big bro came back and claimed the throne. After ainz told him that he was dead, not just held hostage, Zanac let out a breath of relief because in his final moments he got to completely be the king, without worrying if another member of the family would rip it from his hands.
Ainz(momonga) is still a high lvl player,he wasnt just leader becuz they pitied him,he is Ainz Ooal Gown guild strategist,he using use this amount to lured out strong opponents even in Yggdrasil,so he already expected a strong one will definitely come, but he was just shocked cuz he think that he might actually find player there cuz Yggdrasil power suit was really promising
Respect to Zanac. I think he is the only one who deserve the king’s title, even his father is not as good as him. At least, he tried but failed when others only want to preserve their lives. A bunch of cowards and traitors. ☹️
Zanac's death is just another way this world is forcing Ainz's hand to be a cruel Emperor that he doesn't want to be. Just like i said in a previous episode video with the flashback to the Swords of Darkness, Ainz finds someone he respects or admires but then they get Game of Thrones'd.

if you saw Ple Ple Pleiades 4, Mare confirms shes taking the families as well. go i guess Ainz in the anime also meant their families along with them
and this is why japan culture is disgusting. If u see the whole anime again, u will find the main character do the same thing.Fools who watch anime without brain contribute the contradiction goes smooth, not only in here , also real life.
Dang the families have to suffer because of some morons that they raised.
No, they will not suffer, at least for the most part.
Minor spoiler
Ainz still respected Zanac’s request and annihilated the army swiftly.
I mean I think it was shitty of the nobles, but at the same time I can understand them
I don't remember him saying this at all even in the light novel. He was still gonna kill everyone.
No, he wasn't. Ainz never intended to change his mind this far in to the plan
the Sad thing is what happened to Zanac has happened before in History probably the closest parallel is the Kingdom of Egypt killing the Roman Rival of Caesar, Pompei the Great then presenting the Head to Caesar as a show of loyalty. Caesar was so angry at what they did and for killing one of the men Caesar respected most even if he was an enemy he declared war that very same meeting screaming at them.
Pompei was a hoe for that
Sheera is 100% correct
Ainz was disgusted with the nobles for turning on Zanac, as he respected him, and not only did they kill him for their own selfish thoughts, but they also killed the man who convinced Ainz to have mercy on them; instead of killing the noble that started all of this (Phillip) they tried the easy way out instead of the respectable thing.
Ainz be like: Look at my horse, my horse is amazing
Yeah, the "Soul Eaters", there are stories in the NW about them just riding around towns and causing all the townspeople to die.
What the actual hell?

They're the most important thing in this world, so much so he doesn't care about finding other players
2. It was a learning experience in proper royal etiquette
Anyone that says "Ainz was reconsidering his decision" is full of shit.
Specifically his friends. He's given up on that search.
@@DmonHiro he was only going to kill 90%, never 100
@ Apoptos
Yes Ainz was originally planning on allowing some survivors to escape.
Damn, imagine killing your leader in order to escape, only to end up getting sent to a dungeon where your yams are likely getting defiled 24/7🤣
Considering Neuronist with her victim last season, waving that spikey catheter I think their yams may be the least of their worries.
Fun fact: Zanac killed a couple of those nobles before they called their mercenaries to deal with the prince in their stead. Cowards indeed, can’t do their own dirty work.
Zanac's last act was to spare a few of the nobles from the torture they brought upon themselves. What a king.
Fun facts:
Surshana?
Honestly I feel Ainz might’ve been moved enough to call off the slaughter all together, if he had the chance. The nobles were so quick with their mutiny for Ainz to make up his mind.
Since it was Zanac that convinced Ainz the Kingdom still had value I would think he would’ve preferred to keep him alive if given the option.
1. He didn't reconsider
2. True
3. Kind of true, the members sunlight scripture were questioned and somehow died upon the 3rd question.
4. Yes
5. Rufus, or Roof-ass. An undead that seems to be among the upper echelons of the theocracy and the first follower of "the god of death," Surshana
Number 2 will not work

But yall remember, right?
Gazef will die at the village. So yeah.
Jircniv > Whole Re-Estize.
@@kenji9817 Dude. You're underestimating Renner and Zanac too much. The author already talked.
The story of The Kingdom is basically an endless chain of disrespect:
The nobles conspired to get rid of Gazef and refused to listen to any of his advice.
Ya the nobles only care about one's social status they don't care about one's skills and accomplishments
Gazef was a commoner who could of killed 100 dragons solo and the nobles would still treat him like sh*t
@@professorchaos5058 no maybe baby or really young dragons but I doubt any adult dragon or teen would lose

"they reuse clementine's face" lmao. y'all know siblings exist right?👏👏👏
No,no,no, this so called "siblings" are just reused assets for budget resons

What's a sibling? I see select diverse groups of people with reused faces all the time. I've even seen some people using the same face at the same time.
@Jason Kariuki is this show on Netflix?
Notice how Albedo holds Zanac head by hugging because Ainz told her to bury him with respect
MAN! WHAT A GREAT OBERVATION YOU HAVE.!
The souls they eat give them a temporary stat boost
And he legit got mad as hell, and sent all the nobles and their families to be tortured, and in the LN he said “they want to live, so don’t kill them even if they beg for death”
3. Taking with Zanac, that’s the first moment Ainz fully accepts his friends aren’t in this world. He can tell players have been in this world, but he just kinda gives up hope on finding his friends during that conversation. And in that moment another piece of his humanity dies.
im beyond happy that yall are caught up now and the ending of this episode was so good i cant wait till the next one
The utter defeat you can feel from Ains as he declairs that he has lost interest.
Ainz cares for their happiness first and foremost. With a vast majority of nazarick hating humans, he would do what would keep the most happy
13:38
Ainz: "Cocytus will be the new Commander"
Re-Estize: (phew)
Ainz: "and Mare's Vice Commander"
Re-Estize: "OH NO"

The saddest thing about this is that, according to the author, Zanac would've actually grown to be an amazing king if Nazarick never showed up in the world
Sort of, the problem is he wouldn't likely have become king without Nazarick arriving either since Barbro wouldn't have been killed.
All it says is that the 4 of them would've succeeded in pushing back the Empire and making a stronger kingdom had they actually worked together and had Zanac taken the throne, no further elaboration beyond that
Lmao Ainz was like "Oh your families too? Well if you insist!"
to clearify - he was expecting a strong person to come he wasnt expecting mecha armor from iggdrasill . the action was expected the actor was not expected thats why he only sent 2 death knights with the undead the goal was to spare some ppl . so if you want to be tecknical you was right to a point and wrong to a point .
Also, the translation wasn't very good for the last part with Ainz and Aura:
It's not "Even if they beg for death, don't kill them too quickly" it's "Even after they beg for death, don't let them die for now".
Three words: Ainz. Is. PISSED!
zanac and gazef are two people that Ainz respects. Zanac managed to ask Ainz to be a little merciful but those idiots only infuriated Ainz and ended up killing everyone.
Can't believe they did my man kurapika like that 💀
Lol
I always lose it when that HxH ending guitar started playing 😂😂😂
You didn't read Ainz saying "why is he wearing Yggsdrasil armor?!"? He knew someone strong would eventually come out but he didn't expect the armor that's why he sounds confused
I’m so thankful that Sheera’s face just lit up when Neuronist’s name was brought up. That kidney stone scene was horrific and those traitors are going to be spending a LONG time in her care
Legend is that the nobles only bought Zanac's head to Ainz because they can't carry his body due to his ginormous balls. Mad respect to Zanac, may you rest in peace 🙏
Agreed. :D
In the novel Ainz was way more extreme, he was like „you don’t want to die? Ok make sure they don‘t even if they or their families beg“
The Best Girl Neuronist is back!💀🖤
She is ready to induce kidney stones
It's the cthulhu-inspired character, she creeps me out. But yeah they deserve it lol
i creeped out everytime i think of her
y’all uploading everything but overlord😭
"Who could have leaked that information, It surely wasnt me."
im going to miss the 2 seconds of guitar everytime zanac appeared
Dante in his book The Inferno relegated betrayed to the lowest level of Hell, I imagine he would raise a wine glass saluting Ains decision-making on the fate of those nobles. Remember in season one Ains gave Aura and Mare a glass of water so Ains showed some respect for Zanac even at the beginning of their talk.
We miss your Overlord reactions please continue it! 🙏🙏

This is like the first anime I’ve ever watched where like every King is actually kind of good at their job
Fun fact: zanac was the only one who genuinely cared for the kingdom among his siblings he acted like a scheming, piece of crap, who was jealous of his older brother to deceive his enemies and everyone else it is said that he was the only one among his siblings with true ruler qualities
aw man, you guys are all caught up and get to feel the pain of waiting a week for each episode now. welcome to the club.
The way they showed how Ainz was angry was really good. That feeling when you are so angry or upset that you just have to take a seat and how you simply don't care what the other party has to say. Ainz shows respect to everyone but he didn't even bother to sit up for those nobles.
Now that Zanac is dead can someone explain to me the music gag the editors did whenever he showed up? I'm honestly lost with that one

Prince Zanek was an amazing character in a way only Overlord could give us, in any other anime he would be a creep and pathetic, but here, He was a respectable man in every way, he didn't want to rule to boost he his Ego like his brother, or to scheme for a pet like his sister, he deeply cared and valued his kingdom and wanted it to become a respectable one, and was betrayed, but he died fighting the good fight until the end, honestly I respect him more than even Gazef.
You can see the members of the black scripture way back in season 1’s opening when ainz is walking from the camera
It's interesting that Ainz said "the ultimate goal of all life is hapiness" and in battle against Shalltear he used the spell "the goal of all life is death". I know it's just a spell name, but you could take it as Ainz's motives changing to more human while his actions are more and more monsterous.
the dude that has clementine's face, that is her borther ^^
Zanac death just pissed azin off for 2 reasons. 1. he repeaceted Zanac 2. ainz beelives in his guild mates and npc's friendship/loyalty while the nobled showed they are betrayers and even had the never to ask to be rewarded for it. so now they have to suffer horribly for this trangression.

Ainz respect for Zanac was so high he called him dauntless and even commended him saying that is how a true king should act. A shame that he died that way. Ainz just needs to rid that kingdom of the filth
Shit was realistic, this is one of the reasons why i love Overlord.
React to Zanac. He didn't deserve to die like that. Ainz got so angry that he pretended to show mercy in front of the nobles. And now they and their families will be tortured.
Zanac turn to be one of the best character on the show.
This is probably my favorite episode of overlord ever. The dialogue was 🔑 for perspective on ainz.

Reactions the second time, after Zanac's murder: *"Let's go!"*
Remember a line Ainz said in the past, "at nazarick Death is mercy", another way to tell the audience that Ainz was mad
true!
That moment when he grabbed auras arm, pure faking hatred. First time in the show when his emotions didnt get stomped by his ability.
This episode was so good. I was waiting with excitement for your reaction :D
