Love the dark wall color, it's a timeless look! I'm ready to paint the wall behind my headboard black - satin finish, I can't wait to get started. Love the micro greens , I have not done so yet 🌸💚🌱
This video blew my mind! Thank you for all of the information about why this is so different from regular seed starting. I had no idea, and now it makes perfect sense. And your captions were hilarious 🤣. You were clearly saying microgreens each time, but it had me laughing out loud!
Gorgeous color on the wall, it makes everything look very nice. You did an excellent job growing micro greens for your first time, it looks amazing! I am really looking forward to seeing the cilantro, I’ve never seen it as a micro green 😮 Congratulations on Bootstrap’s sponsorship, as much money that you have spent on them, I am glad that they recognized your support 😊
Thank you for this video! So much valuable information! I've had a horrible time trying to grow microgreens, but I've just ordered some microgreen seeds, and I can't wait to try again. You've given me hope and inspiration!!! ❤️
I am at the same point of growing micro greens for first time! This is a wonderful way of growing your salads over winter...wish I had tried earlier! Also, I have started growing 9 different herbs, couple types of sprouts, spinach, radishes, peas and onions. will be starting some cherry tomatoes soon. This is a wonderful experience, easy and fast!
Love the new wall colour, Roxana. The moss creation looks great vertically and horizontally. I am so going to try growing the micro greens. I have done the sprouts but this will be fun to try too. The low-profile trays are so clever. I think I need a few to add to my collection. Well done. Jo
I love what you did to your grow room. The espresso color is beautiful! Thanks for the information on the micro greens Roxana. I just ordered quite a few different flower seeds from True Leaf. They do have great prices. Wanted to order the micro greens too but, hubby not a fan and it would be a waste with only me eating them. I always enjoy your videos, you are so sweet and have a winning personality. Anxious to see what all you do in 2023! Happy gardening pretty lady! Hope your family are all doing well. 😊
I have black sunflower seeds to try this year. I’ve done the brassica mix before. I also ran into the hair root thing and threw away my first two trays! Thanks for sharing! You reminded me that I should be growing and eating my microgreens! 💗
Great video! I’ll have to do the book trick I’ve never done that I’ve always just put a try on top of them and once they sprout I put them under the light. I also add 2 cups of water to my tray before I add the soil I saw that on epic gardening micro green video The hair roots freaked me out too when I first started growing micro greens I’m glad you didn’t toss them in a panic ❤ also I have a tiny little pair of snips I use to harvest them.. it may be easier for you to Harvest.you can also use a small fabric grow pot and do a cut and come again type too never done it I do what you u do it seems just easier to have a bulk amount to add to whatever you need!! My favorite is adding them into veggie spring rolls with rice paper and adding them to avocado toast 😊 have a great day Roxana
Thank you for the tutorial and inspiration. Tomorrow is a leaf day so I am now inspired to start some micro weeds 😅. I’ve had various seed’s waiting to do this (Purple Santo radish, red Russian kale, pea shoots and sunflowers) but just never got to it. I think I’ll plant all 4 using my 5x5 trays which will give me 1/2 a flat. I did a little bit last year but wasn’t good about harvesting them. Perhaps if I harvest and store them in the fridge then I’ll more likely use them. I definitely won’t do a special harvest for each meal. If you have any tricks to make the harvested greens last in the fridge I’d love to hear it. I’ve got my early flowers going (lizzy’s, Ranunculus, anemone, 1st round of snaps, onions) and will start a bunch in February. Happy gardening!
I know some people store their microgreens in one of those clear containers that you get from buying berries at the store (The clear ones with lids) and sometimes they even put a piece of paper towel in it, my harvest went directly into my family's meals and didn't need to be stored.
That looks like a great stand alone salad, or base for other ingredients. Thanks for sharing♥ I love that knife you're using for harvesting the microgreens - and I'm super interested in those DIY shelves too!
The knife I found on Amazon ( amzn.to/3j0w4qb ) and the shelves are so sturdy too! I almost went with Gold but I am glad I chose the black matte ( amzn.to/3DeHEVw )
@@SoilandMargaritas I was wondering about cost…I’ve only bought small packets of seeds and can’t imagine how much a pound of seed would be! Especially since it’s just sprouting and then gone. I’m assuming you find it to be worthwhile or maybe less in bulk?
@@emkn1479 you would be surprised how much cheaper it becomes, for example, a lb of broccoli is $16, if I had to buy the small packets to fill one tray it will take quite a few!
Thank you for taking the time to show how to grow micregreens. I was wondering if the plants will continue to grow? BTW, your captions cracked me up! 🤣🤣
😘😘 microgreens are a one time harvest, there are some seeds (rare thou) that give you a second flush or even a third like peas, depending how you harvest the first time. Bit in general, microgreens are a one time thing.
I grew some microgreens and did not harvest them. Now they are like little baby plants all clumped together. I guess I can still eat them… I grew spicy microgreens. Thx for the video 🪴💚
Do you plan to just dump the used planting soil and roots into the outside garden beds? Thanks so much for the informative video! I am hoping to buy seeds locally too. I’m thinking I will try out in the country stores by my office - they may carry bulk.
Hi! Amazingly informative! Seriously the best I've seen, well done. I am curious what you do with the soil after you have finished harvesting? Do you put in a container to allow the remaining greens to break down?
Thx so much. I have micro green seeds and looked at them today and thought ‘I don’t know how to grow these”’. I am going to research now. Do they grow back once you harvest them? Also I am going to bootstrap farmer. I need colors in my life!
Hi! A little off topic, I recently watched a video where you planted tulip bulbs in pots, you gave me hope that maybe I could succeed at this. I have failed miserably in the past, with rotting, unhealthy plants. My question is did you pre-moisten the soil before planting bulbs? I am not sure how much water to give them (for fear of rot) I will be placing pots on the east side of my house under a covered porch, any info is much appreciated 💚
Hi Deena, the rotting happens when the rain or the snow just stays inside the containers because the bottoms get clogged or frozen, that is one of the risks of leaving containers outside with bulbs, what you can do... you can put them againts a wall, or cover them with some wood but do make sure to give them water "IF" you block the water from going in, that way they don't dry out. Its kinda a hit or mix with my containers, the bigger the container the better because you can put the bulbs towards the middle to prevent them from freezing closer to the wall of the planters, I hope this helps.
Microgreens are regular seeds! Just like you would use to grow the regular plant. (I had the same question weeks ago) It’s cheaper to get the ones labeled microgreens because they are cheaper!
Have you tasted them? Do they taste like actual broccoli? Ive never grew microgreens but Ive been sent seed packets as special gifts for purchasing seeds. Haha
@@SoilandMargaritas Thanks. I was kinda curious about maybe dehydrating for certain flavors in food. I love broccoli too. I went to that website and was amazed at all the different varieties of microgreens. This was a very interesting video!! And your new wall design in the background makes it look so cozy. 🥰

Tomatoes take a while, especially poblanos, just wait a bit longer.
