  • My first attempt at an axe sheath. It works but the fit could've been better.
    Thanks for watching!

    Thank you for this. I have watched lots of these videos now and yours is the first that I have really enjoyed!
    No silly music, no unnecessary speech. Excellent. Just simply and easily showing how it is done. Thank you :)

    i know a lot of people wouldnt like it because the leather isnt a uniform color and would think the quality is lesser for it, but i love it. reminds me of wood grain, looks unique and it still serves its purpose which in the end is all that matters

    Nice job, I really like the rich warm color of the leather. Good looking cat cameo was a nice touch. Thanks for posting.

    I like your design and construction. I have no leather experience and four axes that need sheaths. Great video, thank you.

    Apply a coat or two of warm pure neatsfoot oil prior to applying dye coats, this will preserve the leather, and make all your colors more even and solid, then apply a top coat of wax, carnauba or even a Resolene/water mix for water proofing.

    Подрезка кожи на сгибе не имеет смысла -кожа и так сформируется на сгибе и еще мягкая будет из-за частого использования . Я делал почти также )) Интересно в разных странах приходим к одной форме чехла .

    Very cool project! If you are looking to make a tighter fitting sheath, you could possibly look into wet forming the leather before crafting. There's plenty of tutorials on youtube or google!

    • @MakeNCreate
      @MakeNCreate  6 років тому

      I wasn't referring to the leather sitting tight to the hatchet, but more making sure that the button is sitting at the right place so it doesn't end up loose. Wet forming wouldn't really make sense on a project like this i think. Thank you!

    great video. Is there a difference between using the glue that you used vs using barge or contact adhesive where you bonded the front edge and filler piece?

    • @MakeNCreate
      @MakeNCreate  6 років тому

      I can't say, only ever used this type of glue for leatherworking. thanks
