Not many people know what the song is really about, not even many Muse fans. Matt has said (on one occasion about 22 years ago) that the song is about admiring how a child can radiate happiness. "Everything about you resonates happiness". Just pure joy and bliss, without having to worry about anything, without any adult responsibilites, without having been exposed to stuff in life yet. And he said that he misses that feeling of being a child and would want to experience it again as an adult. "Everything about you is so easy to love, they're watching you from above" literally means adults looking down at children and loving them. "Everything about you is how I'd wanna be, your freedom comes naturally". A child can be completely in the moment, completely free, and be happy. And Matt envies that. "Everything about you pains my envying". He wants that for himself. "Give me all the peace and joy in your mind, I want the peace and joy in your mind". We've all had that when we were kids, but we grew out of it slowly. We can remember things from our childhood, but none of us really remember what it felt like being a child and what that carefree state of mind was like. "Your soul can't hate anything". A child is incapable of hating anything or anyone the same way adults are. If something hurts a child, they might cry for a minute, but they will forget it in an instant and go on living their blissful, happy existence without growing to hate it. Another interesting thing is that the background synth track is pretty much stolen from the theme music to a 1992 kids video game called Top Gear for the Super Nintendo (not that anyone ever sued Matt over it). Literally a game for kids. And a third interesting fact: In the early 2000's, they used to play this song live all the time with those huge balloons unleashed upon the audience about halfway through the song. Those balloons are literally something that kids would go crazy over, not adults, because adults don't care about balloons. Kids would jump up and down out of joy if they had balloons like that. But so did the audience. For a brief moment, the people in the audience got to feel that bliss and joy of being a child, lost in the present moment. All in all, it's a song about kids! :D
This was recored 9 years ago approximately 350 miles away from where I am now, I've seen this video hundreds of times before and yet every time I watch it sends chills down my spine! Everyone who was there for that concert had the most incredible experience and I will envy them for ever. TUUUUUUUNE!!!
Freaking heck you crazies. They're bursting with so much energy in their early 2000s live shows, it's freaking infectious. Whenever I watch one I feel like I could run a mile in a minute.
I love this song and I love MUSE.. the band has always fun doing live shows and they always put so much energy and feeling into it.. the vibe in the crowd and even in the air is incredible. I really admire that.. :)
when you say you want to be famous everybody tells you it's a hard life, but when you can do a concert like this you know you'd do everything for it, everything about this it's how i wanna be
I like how they start off with the song. I even think it's better than the studio version. It's starts off calm, then goes BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SYNTHESIZERS, DRUMS, BASSLINE, AND GUITAR = TOTAL BLISS. WHAT MORE CAN YOU GET FROM THIS LIVE VERSION????? It's simply a rare jewel.
The DVD is TOTALLY WORTH IT, AND THERE IS NO DOUBT ABOUT IT. Every song in the set list is played exquisitely and much more better than the studio version. Take a look at Bliss! It's start in the live version changes everything that the studio version has done. It makes much more impact as it goes all out with the synthesizers, guitar, bass, and drums from which it came from as an unexpected calm, steady intro.
I'm sitting in front of my computer watching a performance thousands of miles (or kilometers) away from the site of this performance... and the amount of energy I get from it is phenomonal... I wondered how the live people at this survived...
Never have I felt the pure and raw emotion of a band so much in one song
This was the concert in 2001 that introduce me to this band, amazing skills and emotion.
That is intense.
Bliss, album version awesome but when it's live it takes it to whole other level.

Man what a great comment. Thank you. And of course, all hail Muse, what a band..
I hate when people are saying, that Matt and God are the same person! Like yes, he's really good, but still he is not Matt!
This is what happiness looks like!
just perfection
Alessia 98 bliss
This is the fucking's coldplay's clocks 2:42
Clocks has been released after bliss
@@nutriarider352 for ur information, Bliss came out on 2001, clocks came out on 2002 🤷
@nutriarider352 it's not even the same progression you dope. It's literally just arpeggios in the same time signature as clocks 🙄 Epic fail comment

4:50 Muse knew they're living their dream as a band so they just had to break everything to celebrate it.
