I went solo to a restaurant after a bad argument with my husband. I told the bartender to surprise me with whatever was the best on the menu. He brought out the most amazing spring rolls and noodles. He then topped it off with this mango, coconut milk and sticky rice.. This dish and his kind words took my mind off of the stress and I left their ready to put the drama to the side and move on. It's odd how one dish can take you back to moments in your life❤.

Mango sticky rice is one of my favorite desserts! I absolutely adore the contrast between the warm rice and coconut sauce and the cool mango. I have a friend who is allergic to mango but the sticky rice and coconut sauce also go really well with peaches and kiwi so she was able to enjoy a similar dessert too.😊

Very nice !! We do a similar dish in South India, we put yoghurt or curd as we call it and mix warm cooked rice with it, add a little salt and mix . Then sprinkle grated jaggery over this rice and eat with fresh ripe mangoes. Thank you
@@IVvOOvVI hi, you can buy online. You get cane jaggery or palm jaggery. Cane jaggery is made from boiled sugarcane juice. Jaggery should be brown to dark brown color.If it light color,then mostly it means chemicals were added to it. Hope that helps, thank you
Never had this but rice pudding it’s one of my favorite. The way I do it’s different. I add lemon zest ,cinnamon,coconut almond milk and honey. With mango must be delicious. I will try it.
I was so little when this was, but.. I used to go get babysat with some kids from church and they were wonderful twin guys, they would make this for me, not with the mango, but the basic same thing. They would endure Sesame Street for me, I loved them, no clue where they were from, I was so young. What an impact those two made on my life!! So many good rice treats and things that didn't look all that great to a little kid, but oh my!! I've never forgotten the flavors!!
I basically fix this same thing but I use butter, sugar, and my favorite French Vanilla creamer (International Delight Coffee Creamer, French Vanilla) with strawberries instead of mango and OMG soooo Good! The only bad thing is my blood sugar goes crazy high because it's way too many carbohydrates 😬😭 It looks like a sweet soup when I'm finished with it and has a yellow tint from the butter!
