I tried it using long grain white rice and it turned out amazing! Only thing I did different is 1) I added salt, 2) I let it soak for 2 hrs, and 3) I only rinsed it once, since long grain rice is less starchy than short grain rice. For those who don’t know-rinsing rice removes the starch, and starch helps the rice stick together. So if you’re using long grain rice, excessive rinsing will make it super hard for the rice to stick together. One rinse is enough. Short grain rice is so naturally starchy that even rinsing it 3x is okay.
If this is true which I’m not doubting you at all because you sound very confident in what you’re talking about, then it’s crazy that this isn’t the top comment!
@@Rigbyyyy It wasn’t as super sticky as I’ve had it in other places, but it was sticky enough to eat with chop sticks without any issues, and it clumped together really easily. I was also able to make rice balls! That said, I tried tripling the recipe to make a large batch (I like freezing leftover rice) and it turned into mush. So take that as you will! 😅 Edit: Oh, if you were referring to the starch thing-that’s something I learned from other recipes online! I experimented with it myself and found that cleaning long rice less diligently (1x) definitely makes it stickier. When I rinse long rice too much (2x+), it doesn’t clump together at all. This is gonna sound gross, but I also didn’t rinse it at all once and that was the best I’ve made. 😅

I've never been told that the type of rice you use is important so this is great. Luckily I have sushi rice so I can try that. Normally I just use normal white rice. Thankfully I have a rice cooker too so it'll be easier. Thankyou for this video💜
I tried quite a few techniques, like following the instruction on the rice package, trying different ratio of water, various cooking speed or a few other video advices and none worked. Yours did. So really, massive thanks to you.

I'd say the ratio of water and rice apples to short grain rice only :) If you use brown rice, you'd need more water when cooking the rice. I'll make another video of other types of rice too in the future!

What type of rice is this? And is Jasmine rice good?
One person the ratio to rice and water is two cups of water to every one cup of rice. Is that right?
i must try this.i allvays fail with rice cooking.

What is the difference between sticky rice and glutinous rice? Can I use this rice to make mochi?
I was in Korea back in 2013. The rice was so good there and I can't figure out how to make it
Do I put salt in the rice as it’s cooking or no?
Looks yummy
Thank you 🙏🏼
Thank you
Can I do this with brown rice
Yes but I think there is a different cooking time. Just search up on google
Thankyou
Can you use long grain rice?
can I mix sushi rice with brown short grain rice? And is it different in the rice cooker?
Yes, you can! And it's actually much easier to use a rice cooker :)

You don't put oil or butter in the pot before the rice?
Only water and rice ???
How many servings is 2 cups? I only want 2 servings
can we use a different rice if we don't have the right kind ?

Do we need short grain rice? Or can we use long grain rice too?
You can use a longer grain
Soo yummyyyy
Why didn't you put some salt on it?
We don’t season rice in Korea :)
Does this make a difference in cooking? I know adding salt in certain foods (like legumes) doesn't allow them to cook properly
the pot stole the show! PEANUTS!
Cool
This isn't sticky rice, it's stickier than long grain, but true sticky rice is sweet glutinous rice.
What rice did u use in this video :)
I used Korean short grain rice :)
