Strangely enough, a Sonic 06 remake would actually be GOOD! The game was bad because it had a very rushed development and the studio splitting. If the game got remade, the flaws could be ironed out into an enjoyable experience. Look at how Project-06 turned out!

With a good budget and staff, no rushed deadlines or other simultaneously developed games (Secret Rings), this would be a fantastic idea and I’m all for it and there’s lots of things you can do with what Base 06 already offers and even expanding upon it. Sega and Sonic Team have the potential to gain even more goodwill with the fans after how great of a job they did with Sonic X Shadow Generations!
@@fujinshuyeah Sonic Unleashed was technically split into two Sonic Teams; one doing the HD game and one doing everything but the daytime stages (as handled by Dimps) on the SD game, and it turned out working fantastic (other than HD’s frame rate drops but that’s purely a hardware issue).
What about DEI, critical gender theory lessons, and environmental themes being introduced in the new S'06? Maybe some trans characters and making Silver non-binary? Could be more interesting. Thoughts?

The existence of the Sonic franchise does not revolve around "the canon" as you put it. Especially considering that Japan in general is less concerned about that stuff compared to westerners for some reason. Im of the belief that Sonic 4 is most likely to be inspired by Sonic CD with a focus on Amy and introducing Metal Sonic as the successor to Robotnik since Jim Carrey plans to retire. It’s also far more likely for Shadow to get a film than a show I think. I also feel pretty strongly that adapting 06 into the films really ought to be a two-film adventure, and the main characters really need to be able to operate in much more outlandish scenarios than they have so far.
idk if SEGA would make allow a Sonic '06 remake, but if they do I have faith that Sonic Team will deliver a good game, they convinced me with Shadow Gens and Sonic Frontiers that they just need time to make a great game.
if project 06 is anything to go off of, i'd *love* to see this. if anything, i just want people who either don't have beefy PCs, or are strangely allergic to fangames, to play this, because the level design is honestly peak. hell if they just bought project 06 off of chaosx, that'd be sweet too, most of the hard work's already done.
I think the idea is gonna be more of a remaster. Basically taking the already established game and fully polished it and complete it. Sonic 06 would absolutely not work as a boost game. It was never designed for that purpose.
Lately I've been thinking that from the amount of those Sonic 06 related things that have been getting brought back it seemed kind-of obvious that they are very likely a bunch of hints that Sonic 4 will be a Sonic 06 inspired movie with Silver being in the Sonic 3 movie's mid-credits scene and that SEGA would be thinking of starting to remake his debut game sometime soon. Along with "Dreams of an Absolution" playing this year in the Sonic Symphony and the other hint in the Knuckles show: in episode 1 while being outside Maddie was wearing a white hat with an auqua green shirt which match some of the colors on Silver. Along with Jeff Fowler being a major fan of Shadow and in 06 it's been easy to believe that that character's personality was peak, so it makes some sense and can be suspected that he would probably think that they should next adapt the game that has Shadow at his best in it and because Silver has been one of the Sonic fanbase's most highly wanted characters to be shown in the Sonic Cinematic Universe (SCU) ASAP. The success of Project-06 may have convinced the people at SEGA that that old game has potential and that players would buy a physical or digital copy of it if it's a complete fixed-up version that doesn't have the problems that the original version has.

I really hope a Sonic 06 remake does happen. On top of how it would be fun to compare to Project 06, it would be fun to see what they change and keep story wise. I feel like they could make it work if they kept the same general story beats, but I think they should probably alter Elise's character quite a bit and give Silver more of a reason to listen to Mephilis. (Also Shadow's story is peak, so no changes are necessary).

I think Elise as a character could definitely work if 1: get rid of the romance element with Sonic and instead give her dynamics with more characters, and 2: make it to where instead her repeatedly getting kidnapped, make the first part of Sonic's story being protecting her, and make her get it only get kidnapped halfway through so the second be focused on saving her. After those things, I'd personally make it to where instead of her not being able to cry, make it to where Iblis feeds off of her negative emotions and can only escape when she's really devastated.

BIG PREDICTION: How much you gonna bet 10 years from now, cuz sonic 06 material is in this game with no explanation as of the shadow update, We're gonna have sonic x shadow x silver generations, and in silvers story will be about 06 era silver on a quest looking for blaze who past away after ibliss's defeat, and on the course of his story will explain how crisis city, kingdom valley, and Memphis survived the timeline Deletion despite princess Elise blowing the candle. Silver story will feature 3 sonic 06 levels, A level from sonic rivals and rivals 2, a level from sonic rush and rush adventures, and 2 future levels, 1 in sonic forces and 1 from the next mainline sonic game whatever it will be. As for bosses we will have a boss from rivals, a boss from rush, a boss from forces, and will end his story with a rematch against ibliss but this time silver dose something different to change blazes fate, and it ends at sonics birthday party with silver and blaze happy to be together again. The 3 sonic 06 levels I'm predicting is: aquatic base for level 1, silver gose back to the past to research more on ibliss's creation. And then The time eater attacks and now we get the 2 sonic rivals levels. The boss will be a eggman nega in some mechine. You then play a sonic rush level before Level 5 will be: wave ocean, after the level is where you meet blaze after sonic saved her from crisis city in his story, then you play a sonic rush adventure level. Then you battle captain whiskers in one of his pirate themed creations, you then play 2 future sonic game levels which btw after level 7 you fight infinite from sonic forces, this is in refrence to the encounter in the forest where in forces silver and infinite had a off screen battle that ended sonic showing up with the assist. and after level 8's future level sonic's story intertwine silver with the rival battle at crisis city. Before you reach level 9 which is... Flame core and immediately after you beat it you then fight ibliss for the very last time when sonic generations first came out, there was no future stages (Unless you want to count crisis city as a Future stage) cuz well sonic generations was the newest thing, no new games came out yet, so there was only a past and present but no future, now with the shadow update we now have some future stages, but also theres this weird anomaly that have sonic 06 stages like crisis city and kingdom valley, stages that were wiped from existence thanks to Elise blowing away Solaris. and their inclusions are still left unanswered, if sega wanted to they could come back to this game one last time and give silver his own story to answer these questions. cuz its not just past, present, and future, its past, present, alternate dimension, and future. sonic x shadow x silver generations would be a way to patch up continuity threads, but also who at sega desides lets bring back crisis city? Cuz that decision lead to inuniverse unanswered questions. The 3ds version did it right But I think before they make that, they need to remake sonic 06 from scratch. And made sure it's 100% complete.
Hot take. What if when you 100% the game. You can unlock the original "2006" version with all the bugs intentionally in it 😂 If it's remade. I hope they give us the choice for which voices to turn on and off. Like say you want to hear Jason's Sonic. Turn that option on. If you want to hear Roger's Sonic. It'll be default. If they want to adapt Sonic 06 then that would need to be the capper of this film series The game ends with all of time and space being destroyed and it takes the combined might of Sonic, Shadow, anx Silver in their strongest forms to kill Solaris and even then they still need to rewind time because too much has been damage has been done That would honesty be the perfect finale to this film series and the perfect finale for this version of Sonic who's way more focused on being a hero and his family than his game counterpart
As someonw who honestly liked aspects of '06 incl the anime story, I wholy welcome a remake. In general I wish we got more remakes of games that failed the first time and deserve a second shot, rather than just games that were always popular/succesful and are just being remade due to fan demand and because the devs KNOW it will sell. Also, as creators of a flopped project, I can only imagine that Sonic Team themselves wanna redeem themselves as they look back at this failed experiment that was supposed to be a glorious celebration of Sonic's 15th anniversary, and them knowing that they can do a much better job today. As a creator you always look back on past works and think "I could've done better, and given the opportunity, I wanna".
Often we see developers remake, or more accurately remaster, the fan favourite classic games which typically don’t need much in change to get fans excited for its release. 06 is a different story as it’s no surprise it flopped badly, meaning if they can make what is considered one of the worst games oat, I think Sega will be earn anyone’s trust if it actually ends up good.
or Sonic Heroes. Supposedly,. prominent leakers within the Sonic Community are all talking about a Sonic Heroes Remake happening this year. Not only that, but Sega & Paramount said that if the 3rd move far surpasses expectations, then the shadow spin-off series they were planning on doing would become a full movie slated to release before Sonic 4. Regardless of what it is, whether it's a movie or a show, the Shadow live-action story could be a great way to introduce Team Dark by having Rouge & Omega added to it. Then it's not that difficult really to include Cream and Big into the story for Sonic 4 since they sort of just showed up in the games anyway. or heck, they may even replace Big with someone else entirely. I'm confident that they'll skip team chaotix tho, and maybe save them for a later spin-off or season 2 of the knuckles series if they take it off of earth.

Remaking Sonic 06 that Sonic Team themselves wanted to do. In my opinion, I think that is a good idea to do. Cause they really needed to fix everything in Sonic 06, deliver a lot of content. Making lots of fun side quests, giving lots of time trial challenges, lots of tough bosses to fight and to remove the human and hedgehog relationship. So make that happen SEGA.
it makes me happy to see the blue blur still be relevant after so long, I see many kids with merch and fanboying over sonic stuff, in fact I see far more kids into sonic than mario so life is good, I hope they grow up loving it as much as I do and at some point they also have the same reflection I've had with them
I doubt it, but if they could get ChaosX involved, that be a blessing. What ChaosX has done (so far) with his project is very promising. It's one of the BEST fanmade Sonic games! And it's not even completed yet. If him and Sega collab and remade Sonic 06 together, we could possible see the BEST Sonic game ever made! But regardless, I'm all up for a Sonic 06 remake!
Since it’s a remake and not a remaster, I can only assume they intend to rebuild and remix everything from the ground up, like what they did in the Generations titles. My one concern is if the level design would suddenly follow current sensibilities like an excessive use of dash-panels, springs, and dash-rings rather than baking a snappier move-set into the speed-based characters and trusting the players to utilise these skateboard-like or car-like character move-sets quickly and efficiently. I feel as though the number 1 goal for designing characters like Sonic, Shadow, or Blaze, for over 30 years now, has been to replicate through gameplay what Sonic is shown doing in cinematic cutscenes such as the Sonic CD opening cinematic. In that sense, I’d love to see primarily speed-based stages represented in a style more akin to skateparks and racetracks, encouraging player experimentation and rewarding players for building and releasing bursts of speed and covering large distances, and only occasionally playing pretend with assets when it’s tasteful, such as hiding springs in trees.
Remaking '06 sounds like a spiritual quest/challenge to be able to put "Sonic 06" and "good" in the same sentence. If there's money and time to do remakes, BEEPing remake SA1 and SA2

I'm sure it comes from Nakamura's personal interest in what could have been, but I doubt that will actually happen. Imagine a year from now Sega announcing that to celebrate the franchises 35th anniversary, they'll remake one of it's most infamous entries to coincide with it's 20th anniversary. I find it more likely that Sega would rein him in, either get him or someone else to remake the Adventure games, or remaster Heroes, Shadow and Unleashed (the only ones that aren't yet available on modern platforms). And sure, with proper management, the game could come out fine, but if he wants to give Silver another chance, it might be easier to pitch a Silver solo game.
It would be a much better idea to make a Silver game. He really needs a larger role. If Sega gave him larger roles in the IDW comics, it's about time they gave him his own game, with great story writing, dialogue, and preferably mostly non glitch gameplay, and less empty with emotions.
I think that'd honestly be an extremely bad idea but at the same time I'm intrigued on how they could pull it off with the time and resources they have now.
Sonic 06 had great level design, character designs, art, music and a story that while needing a clean up was still good. I'd love a remake made in the hedgehog engine that would show exactly what the team wanted from 06 similar to ChaosX's remake rather than completely changing the game. In short, Sonic 06 unrushed edition is what I think they should do instead of a remake that completely modernizes the game.
Ironically there is actually a possibility to re-tell a new timeline since the original game's timeline was erased so the question remains what actually happened in canon during the 06? when was the timeline reset? Resequel remake? To those who hate Elise in this new time line, sonic and Elise never met.. but there could be plenty of new conflicts.. during that time.
The best thing they could do is bring the Project-06 developer on board, give it a graphical update, change the script to tone down Sonic and Elise's romance, and call that "Sonic Adventure 3"

If they actually made this remake more playable than the original, and rewrote the more questionable aspects of it, I might consider trying it out. Also, restoring the original dialogue, and animation gestures from 'Sonic Generations' with A patch would complete Sega's redemption arc with Sonic.
I'm theorizing that this remake will probably come out sometime in 2026, and Sonic movie 4 will probably come out around 2026 too (considering they always release the Sonic movies 2 years after the previous one). Sonic movie 3 is coming out this year, just like how Sonic X Shadow Generations came out this year. So they're probably going to release Sonic movie 4 at the same time around the 06 remake.
A Sonic 06 remake would be interesting and you do present a lot of evidence. Personally I'm fine if the Sonic movies stopped after three, or at least had a break as to avoid becoming stale. But there are a lot of ways a remake could go. They could just do the same thing, but with polished, but I'm more interested in the idea of remaking the game's story from the ground up. Sonic's story with Elise is rather, well the fans will tell you. Maybe they could actually give Blaze some time in the spotlight again since she's now apart of Sol Dimension again. As opposed to being from the future with Silver "as a Rush fan specifically this bothers me". Bring back Eggman NEGA and actually make his connection to base Eggman and Blaze not overly confusing. I heard someone in a video say he should be called EggMaster which cool as fuck. Shadow's and Silver's could stay largely the same. Still no hyper characters I suppose going off the Frontiers not having it against The End. And who knows, if it does well we might a Shadow the Hedgehog and or Forces remake.
I actually would like that, if they fix all the problems from the original, maybe it can become a new favourite for some! This certainly will be interesting if this was possible!
I've been saying this for years now, but SEGA has a really easy shot to make 06 one of the best Sonic games ever made. They just have to buy Chaosx's remake, work on it tweaking a few stuff (like animations), rewrite the story (with Ian Flynn), and make brand new cutscenes (basically delete the Elise's kiss scene) and they're golden. It's a no brainer and could not only cover a stain that has been tormenting SEGA and Sonic Team for decades, but also set a precedent in gaming history as a whole.
If Ian Flynn ends up writing this, you KNOW he's gonna end up making every female character blander than a sandwich made entirely of bread (He'll probably make 'em flatter too)
I'm really hoping they remake the games that can't be played on modern consoles before stuff like the adventure games. But the ones I'm hoping for are Sonic 06, Sonic Unleashed, the Storybook Games and Sonic Heroes. Heck, maybe they'd even include Sonic Heroes in a remastered collection of Sonic Adventure 1+2.

Honestly, most of the Sonic games made from Sonic Adventure to Sonic 06 would benefit greatly from a remake.
Im of the belief that Sonic 4 is most likely to be inspired by Sonic CD with a focus on Amy and introducing Metal Sonic as the successor to Robotnik since Jim Carrey plans to retire. It’s also far more likely for Shadow to get a film than a show I think.
I also feel pretty strongly that adapting 06 into the films really ought to be a two-film adventure, and the main characters really need to be able to operate in much more outlandish scenarios than they have so far.
Jim Carrey had already retired. He only came back for Sonic 3 because he needed the money and the script caught his attention

idk if SEGA would make allow a Sonic '06 remake, but if they do I have faith that Sonic Team will deliver a good game, they convinced me with Shadow Gens and Sonic Frontiers that they just need time to make a great game.
if project 06 is anything to go off of, i'd *love* to see this. if anything, i just want people who either don't have beefy PCs, or are strangely allergic to fangames, to play this, because the level design is honestly peak. hell if they just bought project 06 off of chaosx, that'd be sweet too, most of the hard work's already done.

Lately I've been thinking that from the amount of those Sonic 06 related things that have been getting brought back it seemed kind-of obvious that they are very likely a bunch of hints that Sonic 4 will be a Sonic 06 inspired movie with Silver being in the Sonic 3 movie's mid-credits scene and that SEGA would be thinking of starting to remake his debut game sometime soon. Along with "Dreams of an Absolution" playing this year in the Sonic Symphony and the other hint in the Knuckles show: in episode 1 while being outside Maddie was wearing a white hat with an auqua green shirt which match some of the colors on Silver.
Along with Jeff Fowler being a major fan of Shadow and in 06 it's been easy to believe that that character's personality was peak, so it makes some sense and can be suspected that he would probably think that they should next adapt the game that has Shadow at his best in it and because Silver has been one of the Sonic fanbase's most highly wanted characters to be shown in the Sonic Cinematic Universe (SCU) ASAP.
The success of Project-06 may have convinced the people at SEGA that that old game has potential and that players would buy a physical or digital copy of it if it's a complete fixed-up version that doesn't have the problems that the original version has.
No way I don't want another male Sonic character showing up before Amy and Rouge plus they need to build up to a Sonic 06 movie. The route their going in Sonic Movie 4 would be a Sonic CD and Sonic Adventure movie

I really hope a Sonic 06 remake does happen. On top of how it would be fun to compare to Project 06, it would be fun to see what they change and keep story wise. I feel like they could make it work if they kept the same general story beats, but I think they should probably alter Elise's character quite a bit and give Silver more of a reason to listen to Mephilis. (Also Shadow's story is peak, so no changes are necessary).
Nah just get rid of Elise entirely. Replace her with Sally Acorn or something.

I think Elise as a character could definitely work if 1: get rid of the romance element with Sonic and instead give her dynamics with more characters, and 2: make it to where instead her repeatedly getting kidnapped, make the first part of Sonic's story being protecting her, and make her get it only get kidnapped halfway through so the second be focused on saving her. After those things, I'd personally make it to where instead of her not being able to cry, make it to where Iblis feeds off of her negative emotions and can only escape when she's really devastated.
If they remade Sonic 06 into Project 06 and made Silver a complete badass it’s very likely and I’m hopeful about it.
i would assume this will lead to a sonic x shadow x silver generations, and silvers story is gonna fix the plot holes regarding sonic 06 content somehow surviving the timeline anomaly thanks to the time eater. i wrote an entire prediction of what it would be like in someones discord, ill copy and paste what i put together in a reply comment Down Below.

BIG PREDICTION: How much you gonna bet 10 years from now, cuz sonic 06 material is in this game with no explanation as of the shadow update, We're gonna have sonic x shadow x silver generations, and in silvers story will be about 06 era silver on a quest looking for blaze who past away after ibliss's defeat, and on the course of his story will explain how crisis city, kingdom valley, and Memphis survived the timeline Deletion despite princess Elise blowing the candle.
Silver story will feature 3 sonic 06 levels, A level from sonic rivals and rivals 2, a level from sonic rush and rush adventures, and 2 future levels, 1 in sonic forces and 1 from the next mainline sonic game whatever it will be. As for bosses we will have a boss from rivals, a boss from rush, a boss from forces, and will end his story with a rematch against ibliss but this time silver dose something different to change blazes fate, and it ends at sonics birthday party with silver and blaze happy to be together again.
The 3 sonic 06 levels I'm predicting is: aquatic base for level 1, silver gose back to the past to research more on ibliss's creation. And then The time eater attacks and now we get the 2 sonic rivals levels. The boss will be a eggman nega in some mechine. You then play a sonic rush level before Level 5 will be: wave ocean, after the level is where you meet blaze after sonic saved her from crisis city in his story, then you play a sonic rush adventure level. Then you battle captain whiskers in one of his pirate themed creations, you then play 2 future sonic game levels which btw after level 7 you fight infinite from sonic forces, this is in refrence to the encounter in the forest where in forces silver and infinite had a off screen battle that ended sonic showing up with the assist. and after level 8's future level sonic's story intertwine silver with the rival battle at crisis city. Before you reach level 9 which is... Flame core and immediately after you beat it you then fight ibliss for the very last time
when sonic generations first came out, there was no future stages (Unless you want to count crisis city as a Future stage) cuz well sonic generations was the newest thing, no new games came out yet, so there was only a past and present but no future, now with the shadow update we now have some future stages, but also theres this weird anomaly that have sonic 06 stages like crisis city and kingdom valley, stages that were wiped from existence thanks to Elise blowing away Solaris. and their inclusions are still left unanswered, if sega wanted to they could come back to this game one last time and give silver his own story to answer these questions. cuz its not just past, present, and future, its past, present, alternate dimension, and future.
sonic x shadow x silver generations would be a way to patch up continuity threads, but also who at sega desides lets bring back crisis city? Cuz that decision lead to inuniverse unanswered questions. The 3ds version did it right But I think before they make that, they need to remake sonic 06 from scratch. And made sure it's 100% complete.

If it's remade. I hope they give us the choice for which voices to turn on and off. Like say you want to hear Jason's Sonic. Turn that option on. If you want to hear Roger's Sonic. It'll be default. You get the idea. Small little things like that I feel would be a good touch

That would honesty be the perfect finale to this film series and the perfect finale for this version of Sonic who's way more focused on being a hero and his family than his game counterpart

As someonw who honestly liked aspects of '06 incl the anime story, I wholy welcome a remake. In general I wish we got more remakes of games that failed the first time and deserve a second shot, rather than just games that were always popular/succesful and are just being remade due to fan demand and because the devs KNOW it will sell.
Also, as creators of a flopped project, I can only imagine that Sonic Team themselves wanna redeem themselves as they look back at this failed experiment that was supposed to be a glorious celebration of Sonic's 15th anniversary, and them knowing that they can do a much better job today.
As a creator you always look back on past works and think "I could've done better, and given the opportunity, I wanna".
Often we see developers remake, or more accurately remaster, the fan favourite classic games which typically don’t need much in change to get fans excited for its release. 06 is a different story as it’s no surprise it flopped badly, meaning if they can make what is considered one of the worst games oat, I think Sega will be earn anyone’s trust if it actually ends up good.

or Sonic Heroes. Supposedly,. prominent leakers within the Sonic Community are all talking about a Sonic Heroes Remake happening this year. Not only that, but Sega & Paramount said that if the 3rd move far surpasses expectations, then the shadow spin-off series they were planning on doing would become a full movie slated to release before Sonic 4. Regardless of what it is, whether it's a movie or a show, the Shadow live-action story could be a great way to introduce Team Dark by having Rouge & Omega added to it. Then it's not that difficult really to include Cream and Big into the story for Sonic 4 since they sort of just showed up in the games anyway. or heck, they may even replace Big with someone else entirely. I'm confident that they'll skip team chaotix tho, and maybe save them for a later spin-off or season 2 of the knuckles series if they take it off of earth.

Remaking Sonic 06 that Sonic Team themselves wanted to do. In my opinion, I think that is a good idea to do. Cause they really needed to fix everything in Sonic 06, deliver a lot of content.
Making lots of fun side quests, giving lots of time trial challenges, lots of tough bosses to fight and to remove the human and hedgehog relationship. So make that happen SEGA.

And it's not even completed yet. If him and Sega collab and remade Sonic 06 together, we could possible see the BEST Sonic game ever made! But regardless, I'm all up for a Sonic 06 remake!

Since it’s a remake and not a remaster, I can only assume they intend to rebuild and remix everything from the ground up, like what they did in the Generations titles. My one concern is if the level design would suddenly follow current sensibilities like an excessive use of dash-panels, springs, and dash-rings rather than baking a snappier move-set into the speed-based characters and trusting the players to utilise these skateboard-like or car-like character move-sets quickly and efficiently.
I feel as though the number 1 goal for designing characters like Sonic, Shadow, or Blaze, for over 30 years now, has been to replicate through gameplay what Sonic is shown doing in cinematic cutscenes such as the Sonic CD opening cinematic.
In that sense, I’d love to see primarily speed-based stages represented in a style more akin to skateparks and racetracks, encouraging player experimentation and rewarding players for building and releasing bursts of speed and covering large distances, and only occasionally playing pretend with assets when it’s tasteful, such as hiding springs in trees.
They better fix everything

I'm sure it comes from Nakamura's personal interest in what could have been, but I doubt that will actually happen. Imagine a year from now Sega announcing that to celebrate the franchises 35th anniversary, they'll remake one of it's most infamous entries to coincide with it's 20th anniversary.
I find it more likely that Sega would rein him in, either get him or someone else to remake the Adventure games, or remaster Heroes, Shadow and Unleashed (the only ones that aren't yet available on modern platforms). And sure, with proper management, the game could come out fine, but if he wants to give Silver another chance, it might be easier to pitch a Silver solo game.
It would be a much better idea to make a Silver game. He really needs a larger role.
If Sega gave him larger roles in the IDW comics, it's about time they gave him his own game, with great story writing, dialogue, and preferably mostly non glitch gameplay, and less empty with emotions.
I think that'd honestly be an extremely bad idea but at the same time I'm intrigued on how they could pull it off with the time and resources they have now.
Sonic 06 had great level design, character designs, art, music and a story that while needing a clean up was still good. I'd love a remake made in the hedgehog engine that would show exactly what the team wanted from 06 similar to ChaosX's remake rather than completely changing the game.
In short, Sonic 06 unrushed edition is what I think they should do instead of a remake that completely modernizes the game.

Ironically there is actually a possibility to re-tell a new timeline since the original game's timeline was erased so the question remains what actually happened in canon during the 06? when was the timeline reset? Resequel remake? To those who hate Elise in this new time line, sonic and Elise never met.. but there could be plenty of new conflicts.. during that time.
The best thing they could do is bring the Project-06 developer on board, give it a graphical update, change the script to tone down Sonic and Elise's romance, and call that "Sonic Adventure 3"

I'm theorizing that this remake will probably come out sometime in 2026, and Sonic movie 4 will probably come out around 2026 too (considering they always release the Sonic movies 2 years after the previous one). Sonic movie 3 is coming out this year, just like how Sonic X Shadow Generations came out this year. So they're probably going to release Sonic movie 4 at the same time around the 06 remake.

A Sonic 06 remake would be interesting and you do present a lot of evidence. Personally I'm fine if the Sonic movies stopped after three, or at least had a break as to avoid becoming stale. But there are a lot of ways a remake could go. They could just do the same thing, but with polished, but I'm more interested in the idea of remaking the game's story from the ground up.
Sonic's story with Elise is rather, well the fans will tell you. Maybe they could actually give Blaze some time in the spotlight again since she's now apart of Sol Dimension again. As opposed to being from the future with Silver "as a Rush fan specifically this bothers me". Bring back Eggman NEGA and actually make his connection to base Eggman and Blaze not overly confusing. I heard someone in a video say he should be called EggMaster which cool as fuck.
Shadow's and Silver's could stay largely the same. Still no hyper characters I suppose going off the Frontiers not having it against The End. And who knows, if it does well we might a Shadow the Hedgehog and or Forces remake.
I know this is unlikely, but I really want sonic team to bring chaosx on to the team to help make the game.

I've been saying this for years now, but SEGA has a really easy shot to make 06 one of the best Sonic games ever made.
They just have to buy Chaosx's remake, work on it tweaking a few stuff (like animations), rewrite the story (with Ian Flynn), and make brand new cutscenes (basically delete the Elise's kiss scene) and they're golden. It's a no brainer and could not only cover a stain that has been tormenting SEGA and Sonic Team for decades, but also set a precedent in gaming history as a whole.
All I gope is for them to reestablish and explain the series after the reboot
