One of the reasons why I always get my car stereo gear from Crutchfield. They help and make sure you have everything you need for your specific vehicle for an easy install.
Nice XJ and head unit. That being said, if you're going to own an XJ for an extended period of time, it's worth investing in necessary equipment and the time/knowledge to learn wiring.....because over time, you will do a lot of it as a Jeep owner, unless you have lots of money to blow on "professional" labor.

Looks awesome brotha. Could you show in the next video where you mounted all the antennas and GPS module? Thanks and keep it up. I'm local to you so I'm sure ill see ya around. I'm in a two tone od green and black xj.
Throne thing that no one seems to mention is the MOST IMPORTANT thing: how does the SOUND compare to more mainstream units from Pioneer, Kenwood etc? Does it have a SUBWOOFER out connection? Thnx!
Thanks for the video! I just bought mine today as well as the iso cable from eBay, can’t wait to install it in my xj. I paid $368 free shipping on eBay for the head unit.
Hello friend, how are you? Can you give me the Amazon link of the player or Car audio for the Jeep xj year 1999 model that you have in your joying video. Thank you so much.
Looking at upgrading the audio in my xj, however been intimidated about the diy. Aside from that Black wire shown at 6:52 everything else was plug and play correct? What did you do during that part? Any other advice?
That's unit looks sweet but for the money you spent you could have upgraded your suspension more, which would have been way more enjoyable imo. Jeeps are for playing in the mud not playing music lol
@@VehicleTribe Have you been able to use the factory/OEM steering wheel controls to the head unit? I have a '98 ZJ and got the Joying head unit, but I got it to keep the steering wheel controls. And I cannot get them to work. Have you? Did you need a Can Bus decoder?
Juan Duarte I don’t think mine has but there are others in the website that have. You can check them out there 👍🏻 it wasn’t one of my priorities to be honest
@@VehicleTribe Hello, i think your head unit should have apple carplay and android auto, could you find zlink apk? By the way, there another UI for your device, if you don't like the default UI, you can update your device.
Turtlepower008 008 I think you may have to check your connections and how much room you have in the dashboard. You can use this video as a reference for the size and type of connections
Ebay has both of the connectors, one of them is labelled "Chrysler ISO WIRING HARNESS stereo radio plug lead loom connector adaptor " by TopAudio-au, and the second connector with the foam pad us an ISO wiring harness DVD stereo radio plug with the RCA (yellow female plug) adapter 20 pin. Both are on Ebay. The DVD connector is about $15 USD and the stereo plugs are also about $15. So it'll run you about $25 for both connectors.
the radio slot in an xj is a single din slot, so only a single din radio could fit without certain modifications, that's why these single din touchscreen units stick out is because they just can't fit in the single din slot. you could either do a double din mod to the inside, or do some custom cutting but then that limits you to if you change radios, to go bigger or get a whole new console plastic piece if you ever want it to look stock.

This awesome vehicle didn’t getting old. Even in 2019 people still use it.
I have a 99 xj 4.0 as my daily even though I also own a 2020 toyota.
Mateo San - Can you tell me the most common problem you face in XJ?
Agreed. 2001 XJ 60 anniversary
Amen bro, I own an '01 xj and love it

Just needed basic radio wire harness for your jeep.
Can you post a new link to the harness? The link in the description doesn’t work.
Bought the same connector at AutoZone and the radio bezel two months ago for my XJ....
Keith Lucas didn’t know autozone had it 🤦🏻♂️
Keith Lucas where’d you get the bezel???
@@A-Mafia313 ...AutoZone, or Best Buy has them along with the different car/radio connectors.....hope it points you in the right direction.
Couldn’t find that connecter at autozone today my joying is in the mail help!
Think you can put another quick video of you demonstrating this? Only because it’s dark
Thanks for the video! I just bought mine today as well as the iso cable from eBay, can’t wait to install it in my xj. I paid $368 free shipping on eBay for the head unit.
i need this harness adapter, but i noticed the link no longer works. Any chance you remember the name?
Need it too ☹️
Hey man, the link for your adapter is dead, I know this video is old. What adapter did you use?
you also need an adapter from stock to the single din, right? that plastic piece that converts from stock? you already had that?
Seems like for $400 it should have a quick attach / detach feature...
So its been a while since you had the head unit, what are your thoughts on it?
Hello friend, how are you? Can you give me the Amazon link of the player or Car audio for the Jeep xj year 1999 model that you have in your joying video. Thank you so much.
Looks pretty sweet but what about your CD player?
Hey I have the same radio in my 2000 Jeep xj and I was wondering if I could install apple car play onto it?
That looks really good!
The Bearded Jeeper thank you buddy
Looking at upgrading the audio in my xj, however been intimidated about the diy. Aside from that Black wire shown at 6:52 everything else was plug and play correct? What did you do during that part? Any other advice?
Steve Bonham correct! other than the ground cable the rest is just plug and play if you get the connector that I mentioned I. The video. 👍🏻
I have a 97 XJ and want that exact head unit for mine. Any issues so far, tips, or things I need that dont come in the box??
I have a ‘91, you may need a wiring harness for it and possibly a new bezel if yours isn’t the right size
@@hm0112 what wiring harness did you get for you 91 to run this? i purchased the 7in model for 1995 xj, any info would be helpful thank you
at 11:12 "it connects to Apple" are you sure? GREAT video. Thanks.
It does, you can also use your phone internet to create a hotspot so you have internet in the head unit.
via an app I believe you can use iPhones with it
You never showed installing the speakers 😢
What about Bluetooth gauges ? That’s a big selling point.
Looks nice, but I actually prefer the original radio
That's awesome
How do you like the jbl speakers? Are they worth it?
well what about the speakers?
Very nice
I ordered the same stereo and my interface looks nothing like that. It looks like a generic tablet. What could be the difference?
That's unit looks sweet but for the money you spent you could have upgraded your suspension more, which would have been way more enjoyable imo. Jeeps are for playing in the mud not playing music lol
itztosh187 if we all were to spend the money on the same things this would be very boring I think 👍🏻
Actually there is a guy who holds a national spl record with an xj his name is ray pimley, goes by jeepandbass.
@@VehicleTribe couldn't agree more, well said!
Do you have any issues with gps signal? I put it inside the dash I am not getting any signal.
💪💪😎
Can you provide a link to the bezel you would need for this?
I had the bezel from an old head unit I didn't buy it, but is pretty standard you can look it up on Amazon.

Can this work for iPhone cuz I see it says android system

Yeah that’s looks so good mate, what was the price on it?
450 dollars at the end of the vid
I wonder if this would fit in my zj
Was wondering the same thing did you ever figure out if it could ?
I have it mounted in my XJ but need a tutorial on how it works -
i have a XJ too . did you have any problems with it fitting under the lip of the dash ?
hey one question, what is the different between the XJ and the Sport, or the sport it is XJ.
Alf Ram sport is just the package of the XJ. There's also a Limited, and Country.

does an amplifier make it sound better? My sound is terrible
From where can i get connector

Hey I got my Jeep xj lifted 3 inch but now vibrates. Do you have any clue
A transfer case drop will help fix that!
Hi.. I know its 9 months old.. Hopefully its been fixed by now.. But if not.. Check your stabilizing bar.. Make sure its not loose.
👍👍👍👍👍
Ebay doesn't have the adaptor does anyone know where I can find it

Does this work with the iPhone or only android?
Joying head unit is with built-in apple carplay and android auto: ua-cam.com/video/uclpnHvxIrM/v-deo.html
Also, do you think with proper installation, the unit can be installed on the inside of the bezel instead of the outside?

you can get a CarPlay/Android Auto capable radio for less..
Really don't understand this modern trend of putting big screens in every car...
