    I have periodontal disease and misalignment. I’ve started my journey since last year and have gotten it under control with rooting & scaling as well as osseous surgery. I am finally getting braces. If I could go back, I would’ve definitely taken better care of my teeth & gone to the dentist regularly. Great video!

      I have the same issue. I have everything under control but still have significant misaligned , loose teeth, and bone loss. Primarily in the front, which is visible. Teeth are shifting and hitting each other. I had two teeth removed. One in the back and one in the front, which was a baby tooth . I have a flipper , so annoying.Baby tooth loosened and needed extracted. My adult tooth is impacted. I don’t have the funds for all this. I have already spent significant amount of money up to this point. Praying for miracle! Periodontal disease began in college in my 20s. I went to a dentist to get corrected. He never told me what I had and did a superficial cleaning so I did the research myself. I have been disciplined with my cleaning. I floss religiously. No bleeding anymore. Just need to correct the aftermath. I didn’t know how important flossing was until my late 20s. I grew up with my grandparents, and they were ignorant to dental health. We couldn’t not afford to go to the dentist. I didn’t see a Dentist until my 20s. Interesting enough, I was the only one in the family who emphasized dental care. I brushed frequently , but never flossed. It’s so stressful and overwhelming.

    Going to dentists wrecked my teeth. I was 40 with 6 shallow amalgams. I wanted straight teeth. All I ever use to go to a dentist every 5 years and never had a problem. No decay, nothing. So they put me in invisalign 3 years ago. All done. Great. Then they told me I should replace all my silver fillings with composite, even though there was nothing wrong with them. (Other dentists and hygienists later told me that's a scam).The dentist buggered up and removed one off a retained primary. He didn't know touching it would kill it. I kept going back with pain and they kept sending me home. Then it absessed. He also did a new filling on a virgin tooth and nicked a nerve. I almost had a root canal done on it and couldn't chew on it for 2 years. Now . Since then I've gotten 4 cavities in 2 years. They keep telling me it's not the retainers, but of course it's the retainers. Google invisalign and cavities and tons of people saying this, but dentists ans Orthos deny it. It holds crap up against your teeth and won't allow saliva to wash away stuff. I use to brush my teeth once a day and had perfect teeth. Now I brush my tweth 3-4x a day and soak those retainers in polidant and now I have had 10 teeth drilled into and an implant in 3 years. I regret going to dentists and even straightening my teeth. It's been a huge blow to mouth and over $10,000 out of my savings. I had easy low maitenance teeth, now high maitenance, expensive ones. There are horrid dentists out there that cause damage not prevent it.

    I wish I had done my research on finding the right dentist prior to my treatment. I have spent tens of thousands of dollars and that is only the beginning. I am in debt and will soon have to take a second mortgage on my house. What bothers me the most is the lack of communication between my dentist and I. I can barely get in two words in a visit. I understand he is busy. He is literally treating four patients going at once always, even while undergoing the most invasive treatment going on. If he had done what I had initially requested I could have saved so much money time and tears. This has been going on for almost five years and I am now approaching my mid thirties. I now have ten implants and counting. It is inevitable I will probably loose my teeth as I began to suffer acid reflux in my late twenties. I know there are so many options rather than placing implant by implant (all different colours and none I have requested). This has destroyed my emotional health and I no longer do what I used to. It makes it harder when my smile has always been my best feature and never had a cavity until I was 27. I am financially strained. I feel helpless and frustrated and ripped off. Fourty thousand dollars practically down the drain aka, my life savings and five years of my life and now my home being refinanced. After watching your videos and the knowledge I have aquired I could have easily stayed within my 20 thousand dollar budget and then some and not have to worry for a long time.

    The "fillings" you did on the front teeth you did veneers on, were the fillings on the lingual (? I mean the back of the tooth) or occlusal (?) side?
    Also, what would you do a filling and what kind of filling material would you use if the lingual side has absolutely no enamel whatsoever?
    What if the front of the teeth # 8 & 9 have healthy enamel but is completely missing from the back? Do fillings hold on dentin alone on the back side of these teeth?
    Thank you.

    I'm missing the same tooth that was in your video when you were talking about missing teeth. The top one that shifted in the video, I have constant pain in. Is this why? Because the tooth under it is missing?? 2 dentists said nothing is wrong with any of the teeth in the area that hurts after taking xrays... no decay/cavities, no cracks, nothing. Yet I have pain in it ALL the time. It can go from a dull ache (pain scale about 4) to a burning/throbbing pain (pain scale about 7) in a matter of hours. I even went to the emergency room at one point from this pain and the doctor looked at me like I was crazy cause my teeth look fine. What is going on?! My dentist said maybe see an endodontist but he doesn't think anything is wrong after studying the xrays. Sadly, I can't afford to see one right now. All I know is I'm going crazy! Help me!

      Maygin Mace I can tell u when u have pain like that a dentist taking Xrays is looking for infection in the tooth like pus pocket on x rays. A lot of times the nerve is slowly dying and when u go to the dentist screaming in pain they tell you.. you may grind at night, it’s just pressure, your bite might be off and your hitting hard on that tooth, maybe it’s sensitivity... but in reality your nerve is dying in the tooth and the pain is excruciating... if you get an antibiotic like clindamycin you will notice it stops that throbbing pain for a few months ... but after that It goes back to the pain that can range from a 1 to a 10 in hours then back to a 0. It is infected the tooth is dying and no one listens until your face balloons and the dentist actually sees the pus pocket abscess on his x ray machine which could be months of pain ... it’s a horrible situation as a patient to be in... good luck.

    • @ambertappa5748
      @ambertappa5748 4 роки тому +1

      Also when u go to Er in tooth pain ur automatically judged cuz they can’t see your pain and aren’t educated in tooth care at all... they think your drug seeking which sadly isn’t the case but if they can’t see it they don’t believe it. I would rather get hit by a truck again or have a csection w no meds no numbing ... rather then to have that infection tooth pain it’s excruciating and I seriously almost wanted to kill myself to end the pain. Glad I didn’t I demanded an antibiotic and within 6 min my dentist finally seen the infection and root canaled it

    I've watched your video on implant procedure, what an eye-opener. I have a lot of teeth missing and I need a row of implants on my upper and lower left and upper and lower right - the ones in front didn't decay as much as the back but it's impossible for me to chew these days. I'm 55 and this new year I need to get implants because there is no more teeth for my dentist to hook a bridge onto. I was really scared before but since I saw the video you made it doesn't look so bad. Do you think that a dentist has to put an implant for each tooth or is it possible to make a bridge by putting in a few implants and connecting them by a bridge? I'm so tired of having bad teeth. It's definitely genetic, but I'm sure all the candy I ate didn't help. Anyway, thank you so much for your explanations. You seem like a very nice, lovely young man.

    I will always have bad teeth I’m a single mom of 3 and my teeth have started well have been for 14 years to decay all cause when I was pregnant with my first child I threw up all 9 months could not even drink water every time I brush my teeth I threw up. I had dental insurance then but my dentist tried to get them to pay but they wouldn’t to try and save my teeth. So I eventually have given up on my teeth. Now my kids have wanted me to do something so I went to the dentist and paid to have there lil plan. Up to 50% off procedures free cleaning and X-rays for 40 a year. Ha they took xrays gave me a antibiotic and didn’t clean my teeth. Instead told me they wanted to do deep clean done in 4s at 138. Each and first go round 6,700. Something 1,000 per tooth! I left crying cause I can’t pay that I’m a single mom of a 15 yr old boy and 10yr old and 6 year old girl. And everything I get goes to them and in raising them. So now instead of being outgoing and taking picks with them like I use to. I hardly talk and smile and quit wearing make up and don’t want to be around people. And no matter how much I brush and all I taste is a nasty Taste in my mouth. My kids know why my teeth are like this and the girls tell my son it’s his fault people talk about my teeth. And my teeth have also kept me from getting jobs. Parents and people judge me and more. But I wanted to share some of my story so people know there not alone! It I think it’s wonderful you are giving away to change someone’s life. I missed this like always but I haven’t won nothing anyways ever but figured I might try but it’s over! I’m so happy y’all are changing someone’s life. Wish it was mine. Hope everyone has a blessed day! And I’m sure I’m about to get trolled for my story but truth is I just don’t care anymore I’m sure I have heard it!

    Hi doc! Please answer my question, i really badly need your thoughts regarding my case. I had put a porcelain crown on my front tooth just last week because it's been broken in half, and now I developed dental abscess. My dentist prescribed me on some antibiotics and it made the abscess gone. Should I get a root canal on my front tooth or just extract it and get dental implants or denture.
    P.S. The front tooth that was just fitted by a crown was broken in half and wasnt fixed for 6 years.

    • @InnovativeDentalofSpringfield
      @InnovativeDentalofSpringfield  6 років тому

      It really depends on how much tooth structure is left. Many times the tooth may break if there is not much left and a root canal is performed. I lean towards an implant for long term success even though it will be a larger investment

    You forgot to mention genetics. Which is the reason my teeth are awful. I want dental implants but of course they have to be the price of a car. And i dont have money like that and insurance doesn't cover it, its all ridiculous.

    My insurance doesn’t cover veneers lol. It covers crowns. 1200 to 160.

    Hey doc, badly need your thoughts regarding on my case. I just got extracted my broken teeth(lateral incisor below - and 1st in line from right side) a week ago. What type of bridge would i fit in? That will last years, and wont damage and involve my other teeth on the process.
    Appreciate your immediate reply. Thank you.

      Hi Vanessa. Thanks for watching. Any bridge option will require cutting on the adjacent teeth. The only permanent solution that does not require other teeth is an implant. Sometimes there are restrictions with the bone. A dentist that has 3D imaging technology and does guided implant placement would be able to help determine if an implant would be a good option for you. I hope this helps and wish you the best.

      Thank you for the immediate feedback doc.
      Doc,What's the difference between jacket and bridges?
      What kind of bridge will you suggest? what will happen to the adjacent teeth if cut? It will be decayed..?
