In my opinion this is the best recording of this piece's Busoni transcription. It matches to organ, and even exceeds it thanks to your phenomenal playing. Thank you for this gift!
I would not go so far to say it exceeds the organ. It brings a new and different texture and coloration and adds percussiveness, but it will not exceed what a concert-caliber organist playing a multiple-manual 100+ rank pipe organ would do. However, this is absolutely stunning. I love it. You just can't compare a pipe organ and piano; it does neither instrument justice to do so. They are both phenomenal. The maestro performs this piece with such clarity, brilliant dynamics and color, and the articulation and phrasing is simply genius. He has the once-in-a-generation talent that can play these types of compositions with integrity, creativity, and gravitas that is necessary. It was majestic and a tour-de-force.
Bravo! Vraiment bravo!
In my opinion this is the best bach/busoni performance that I can find: in terms of movement and gravitas. The last 3 bars could be a bit more spacious though. Lovely playing. All the best.
Really (really) well-played! Interesting choice to bring out the inner voice in the second episode. I’m curious how you were able to keep the right-hand sixths so well-articulated and yet so pianissimo after the 3rd statement of the subject too. Also very curious about how this piano’s action was regulated (seems a little light?)… Thanks for sharing this performance.
I was challenged with my opinion - but ... FUCKING INCREDIBLE! PEOPLE - this is amazing! Don't spit back at me - but watch his amazing performance completely!!!
It sounds like Liszt, I agree, but in a way, how to get the rendition of this toccata written for organ without some specific effects for the piano ? Some additional notes sound a bit strange, but we cannot say that Bach is distorted, in my opinion. We could imagine a transcription a bit more faithful with the original, why not. In fact, this toccata is so passionate, even so 'symphonic', so ahead of its time, that it seems impossible to resist at the piano !
Carina Suda Busoni was a failed composer, who considered that 'rewriting' a perfectly good piece of music was, in his opinion, flawed and he could rewrite it better.
Too fast, too strong. It's like if you played with hammers ! The arrangements you made are irrelevant, and show a real lack of understanding and sensibility to Bach.
The tempo you're able to play this composition at with such clarity is absolutely stunning!
The genius of this piece is so much more accessible when it's played on piano....and as for the performance, what an unreal talent you've got!
A magnificent interpretation. In our time and age, it is so rare to find someone who truly understands Bach's music. Well done.
Listened to many versions on UA-cam because I'm learning this. Yours is one of the best and most inspiring!
Very good performance !
And Busoni's transciption is really the best one !
My favorite peformance of this work on YT. Congrats. Clear, clever with balls.
And this was just one of thousands of brilliant pieces of music Bach wrote in his lifetime.
It's like Bach, and other composers, are from a different planet. Where do they get their ideas, and how do they produce so much great music?
You make it look so easy. I have been trying to learn this piece forever so I know how technically challenging it is. Bravo sir!
me too... this is an excellent performance.... the arrangement is a bit different from mine, but no less challenging!
This by far is my favorite rendition of Busoni's take on Bach's Toccata and Fugue. Well done Artem!
Great Performance, Congratulations from Turkey.
Loved every single minute of it. Bravo!
Played very well, and the arrangement is also very good, in my opinion.
Brilliant virtuoso playing, so passionate yet so pleasant to the ears! Bravo!!
Superba interpretare , din suflet pentru suflet , magnific ! Multumesc !

who is busoni ?
Hi, Carina. here is great Mr. Busoni! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferruccio_Busoni Have a nice day
Thank you so much and I must say... an amazing rendition! well done

Then why do something you hate?
Who cares?
I wish I could play piano, but I chose guitar ;-;
hmmm
too fast perhaps?
Still very impressive
too fast..
It's more epic
great, but too fast and emotionless in my opinion
Baroque isn't *very emotional* in my opinion.
And, also, the performer DID play it with understanding
