Been a magician many years but now retired. have been planting fruit trees, my orange tree finally had a single orange appear and of course I thought of this straight away lol
I saw this first in the illunist.... Then i just read about dai vernon and harry huddini and thats brought me here... Legendary indeed... Thanks for sharing this video
I’m pretty sure he just swaps the ring out with a sleight of hand before putting it into the handkerchief, having it in his possession the entire time, and then places it into the orange tree device when he’s “cranking it up” so it comes out at the top. 🤷♂️
Do keep in mind the way the trick was presented by Mssr. Robert-Houdin. This gentleman approached it after handling the ring. Robert-Houdin would stay across the stage as an assistant brought out the tree from the far side, then would fire the gun and stay put. As said here, firing the gun would seemingly start the music, the flowers and the rest of the show.
So how is it getting from there into the orange ? Please give me a full technical description of all the moves and how the clockwork stuff works, so I can build one

@@James-kv6kb I mean there have been films about this, plus this video isn't hard to see, it's right there, I don't know what band wagon you're on today but you can get off now
The secret is simple. The ring is removed by someone else and placed in the orange tree. the rest is good showmanship. Can you spot the moment it is removed?
Vitosky Portolinov yes, just after he kept the 'ring in hanky' inside the glassware, he stood in the stage such that the ware was behind his back, fully covered. It might be then.
Busted him at 1:39 you can easily see his poor sleight of hand skill swapping the real ring with a fake. I saw it the first time around without having to replay. He could have used some simple misdirection skill but he had all eyes focused on the handkerchief.
Wes Barker brought you here? Same :D ♥
Yes, he did, grew up watching Paul Daniels, awesome. Imagine the audience back in the day watching this, must of blew their minds.
That's a very classy act from Mr. Daniels. Bravo!
holds up better then the CGI in The Illusionist
Did you really just comparing a movie with a real magic?
There is no real magic...
@@GerDavActinos wait what?

Houdini
I saw this in the illusionist movie and someone said it was a real trick , and low and behold it is , truly a peice off magician art , outstanding
well, not quite same as in the movie haha. But still amazing
Amazing seeing this bit created by the master magician Jean Eugène Robert- Houdin
here from David Copperfield on GQ :)
just finished rewatching the illusionist. I came here to rewatch the original trick again. still a classic
Just Perfect.
Thank you, Debbie McGee.
it is fabulous but sometimes sad to think of this marvellous peace of history
Pure class 🌹
Paul Daniels was quite an entertaining magician!
It was so cool in the 70s early 80s when they were doing regular specials with Paul Daniels Doug Henning David Copperfield
Beautiful 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Amazing
I think I fell in love with the woman with the ring. Her voice is so incredibly beautifull...
I just can’t believe how expensive her ring was, I would be afraid of losing it somewhere! I guess I don’t know about jewelry...😬
The Unmasking of Robert Houdin - Harry Houdini
Houdini did come to believe that Robert-Houdin was some sort of fraud, which he most certainly was not.
Classic 🙌

What about Jean Eugène Robert Houdin's "second sight" magic trick? That one too is a classic magic trick.
=)
The sound of that gun going off reminds me 1,000 blood curdling screams.
No really, it is a good magic trick without bias.
why no! the ring that appeared in the orange is NOT my ring! BAM! see, it appears to be glass, and you sir, owe me 300,000 pounds!
wow
where is the original one?
Hi. Do you know if its possible use this video for a documentary? Thank you
old magic
still have nonidea how the ring got in the orange lok
Kesini gara gara podcast deddy issues eps27

Done better in "the illusionist" lol.
No, no it is not.
@@MyAnalogueWatch yes it is
Well, "the Illusionist" does have the benefit of CGI! This is done in front of a live audience, which means nothing was added in post-production.
@@SomeCrumbs lol, comparing a real illusion to CEE..GEEE..👀
