- zitw to 1968! zitw to BSG!
This band came from Springfield, Massachusetts and these Boss Tweeds were not the same as the Boss Tweads that released a 45 on Studio City.
'Im going out of my head
A man is dead
Beneath the floor
Old heaven's door
A wristwatch band.'
A most splendid track baroness
Well, although I am a UMASS grad, this group was not the one you are remembering, nor did we record the kill pussy cat thing. I was living in the Springfield, MA area and the Boss Tweeds were from the Worcester, MA area. We recorded a total of 6 songs with Columbia Records, then quietly went away.
Far out man!
It's a good catchy song.
I believe The Boss Tweeds were a UMASS band made up of students that were going to UMASS. Saw them in concert with the Beach Boys at Curry Hicks cage in 1965 and at a dance at the Student Union same year or '66. There was another band at UMASS that used to travel around in a hearse.
Wrong Boss Tweeds... we were Bill Wendry & the Boss Tweeds. The UMASS group was a different band altogether.
Would love to hear the other songs, please post.
Thanks... haven’t done much lately. Play mostly for my grandchildren and an "open mic" here and there.
My father played us this song growing up, always preferred fire on the B side until I played it for a friend yesterday. So cool. Great song
Is your father Dan Leone?
Yes
Gem!
