    Enjoyed the tours - thank you for filming them. We still love our little (now 9 year old!) PW, but the layout of the Panoramic😍 The prices are keeping us from upgrading, but they are beautiful & the power included now is mind-boggling. Thanks again for the video tours!

      An older PW is a great RV! Glad you enjoyed the tour!

    Perfect for single traveler. Use the sofa as a single bed and kitchen side single chair with Lagun for dining. Only 23 feet with a dry bath.

      It was a nice rig and at under 23 feet offers some great mobility with a nice living space.

    I'm glad you were able to see them both. One thing though, I would weigh the inconvenience of MB turbo diesel chassis as it requires DEF fluid refills in addition to the #2 diesel refills. I have a 2016 Roadtrek SS Agile and have had numerous close calls with the DEF system defect. If I had to purchase a new class B RV, it would definitely be regular gasoline chassis.

      Glad you enjoyed! Next time we might cover something on the less expensive side…perhaps a few smaller trailers.

    Thanks for the tour on the Panoramic upgrades. The similarities are nice, can certainly validate Truma quality. Great video.

    I have seen the Pleasure Way in some other videos, I admit if I had the money I might get that one.

      All of their vans are nice, but yes, not inexpensive…but the same can be said about many of the van options these day!

    Thanks for the tours. Have a Zion SRT and loving it but was really attracted to the Panoramic. I am surprised that you said the generator is now gone and no underhood generator!?? That makes no sense to me. So basically, unless one drives for hours to recharge the batteries, they need to be plugged in. I don't get it. Seems like a waste of money to get lithium if you can't easily and quickly charge them. Puzzling set up.

    • @hikenrv
      @hikenrv  4 місяці тому +1

      It is a nice rig, but yes, unlike our RT’s there is no separate under-hood generator, so it can take a while to fully recharge as we noted. We do think it unlikely though that batteries would often be very low, especially if some solar about. In our case, it’s rare our lithium batteries are below 50%. Not having an under- hood generator does make the Promaster side much simpler and of course not having an external generator is better from an environmental perspective too and one less thing that needs to be worked on.

      Not ideal for long boondocking stays if need air conditioning. Too bad no UHG. Otherwise, I've been loving the layout and quality of the Panoramic. We'll keep enjoying the RT and all it's amenities 😊

    On the PW website, the XLTS is listed as $217,750 US. You have the one here listed in Canadian dollars for less? What?

    • @hikenrv
      @hikenrv  3 місяці тому +1

      Discounts for fellow Canadians! 😊 Actually the RV show price did show it was reduced by about $20,000 which if added back would largely match the CDN price on their web.

    I do not understand why someone would tie up $220,000 plus taxes and fees on a camper that is only used for camping nothing more. We spent much less on a combined 2020 Dodge Ram 3500 Diesel Dually and our 2023 Northern lite 10.2 ex le dry bath. And while not using the camper we have this wonderful truck. And yes even as a dually we prefer use it as our daily runner.

    • @hikenrv
      @hikenrv  4 місяці тому +2

      Always a bit of a debate over the type of rv folks choose…somewhat dependent on things like fuel economy, battery capacity/power needs, living space, ease of driving and parking etc. Class B’s especially seem to still be in demand. Technically you could use as a daily driver, but we don’t know anyone who does. We quite like the Northern Lite 8’11 and would certainly consider in future.

      The plateau xlts is 22.9' . Our loaded length is 27' ..due to stairs, so we can pretty much fit into any campsite and oddly enough in many tight parking lots. Our truck gets aprox 1100km range on a tank of diesel ( 50 gallon). I agree needs are different for everyone. Our camper has the same generator as the plateau. The 2500i

      I used to have a ram 3500 dually with a 10-2 . I used it 2 months and sold both! The handling and comfort while driving was awful. It was back to front purposing almost all the time. I Change it to a sprinter b+. It drives wonderfully, so comfy. and I am getting 13L/100km instead of the 20-21 I was getting with the ram and 10-2, which is huge when we value driving and moving all the time from one spot to another one.

    After seeing the many stories on youtube about RV's built after 2018 are basically junk and the shady warranties why commit a quarter a million dollars to a RV? I have loved camping and have had several different units but that much money gets you a lot of high end hotel rooms (or hotels that include breakfast) and I can take my lawn chairs camp stove and basically do the same thing except sleep in my vehicle. For that much money wouldn't you be better off to upgrade your unit or have one built?

    • @hikenrv
      @hikenrv  4 місяці тому +1

      Yes, costs are high and prices seemed to go up significantly during the COVID period (we did notice a few models with some reductions over previous years so perhaps a change for some), but quality likely varies considerably., though often challenges in the RV industry. We have often said something similar to your points when we have looked but we would definitely miss out if we chose the hotel route. They don’t often exist where we like to be. Certainly RVs are not for everyone! It would be interesting to have one built. We still like to tent camp too, but more often that means a long hike in…still you get to camp in amazing places that way.
