So beautiful! Ive learned a lot watching your vids by how limitless creative expression can be when it comes to music. I grew up with a dad who was classically trained and he hated unconventional music.
You remind me SO MUCH of my best friend, Emily, who i recently found out had passed away pretty recently, and it genuinely warms my heart every time i see one of your videos. I think of her. The resemblance, the voice, the everything. RiP Em ... 💞 i love you !!!!!!!
This made me realize how much the backing vocals in so many games I play was probably altered in some kind of similar fashion. Probably altered in post though
You have such a cool attitude and generosity to allow other artists to have access to your nice equipment. It always sounds great-no exception here! : )
Hello! Kindly, could you tell me the signal chain of effects used here? I'm a musician trying to make these types of vocoder vocals for my own wierd music ❤
Shiiiiid!!! If ya got any duplicate pedals youd be willing to donate to a fellow musician in need Im an ambient/psychedelic/prog rock guitarist that is currently trying to rebuild my pedalboard/gear setup after having all my noise goodies stolen! 🤬😢 I know this is quite a fkn long shot, but we miss all the shots we dont take anyways! 🤷♂️ Either way, just came across your page and dig the shit outta what you do! RESPECT! 🤘🏼🤙🏻
@emilyharpist thanks for correcting me, that is really cool. It reminds me of the tape delay system that in its refined form was used by Brian Eno and Robert Fripp. If it had a really long delay between the echoes, it would be close to that.
Absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! Who IS SHE??!! We simply MUST KNOW!! P.S: Thank you infinitely for your endless magic and ability to always warm my heart with childlike joy and wonder throughout my many dark and cold times. Much love!
Sometimes the instrument is too loud (distorted) or soft (muffled) for a specific fx pedal. If the instrument doesn't have its own volume knob, you can use a preamp, boost pedal, volume pedal - whatever you have that changes the volume - in between the instrument and the misbehaving pedal. Every once in a while there's an impedance mismatch between the instrument output and the pedal input. If the pedal soumds really crappy compared to demos, that's one possibility... Usually it just works, tho😅
By "distorted" and "muffled" I mean that's what it sounds like when the instrument signal going thru the pedal started out too loud or soft for the pedal's liking...
I wouldn't call that singing. Something else maby, vocalizing, harmonizing, adding a distorted vocal track on some keyboard, come on. There are many talented singers that can take that kind of technology over the edge. Take KRS One, for example. E40, A Tribe Called Quest, 2 live Crew, Big Daddy Kane......get this little winy emotional girl off here, NOW!
I'm no vocoder scientist, but I imagine it does take a lot of time and practice to learn all the equipment and is probably much harder than you sarcastically make it out to be. 😅
@@emilyharpist alright then , I would lead with that then as opposed to vocoder artist., because honest to god , it takes less than 5 mins to learn to use a vocoder. There's nothing to learn.
@@barlowetubeTakes even less time to learn not to be an asshole. You actually _gain_ time by not spending so much of it being rude to people for no reason.
Video title by Tobias Funke.
😂
You might be surprised by some of your phrasing!@@emilyharpist
Felt like I was experiencing kingdom hearts all over again.
Omfg for real 😭
@nightzzmixx first thing that came to mind; beautiful.

A real tape echo!?! wow!! How did you manage to get that?
It’s made by Echo Fix! They’re so cool

I could watch/listen to her mess around and experiment like this all day. 😍
Remind me of Imogen Heap
Especially the second melody 😮
Exactly what I thought as well!
Collaboration raises energy exponentially. So cool. 😎

Some dang nice tones!
Awesome stuff..!!
I feel like you need to be a high level dungeon master to wear that shirt
Emily has the clickbait that delivers.

I love your t-shirt, where did you find it ?
Awesome!! You’re sending me to outer space baybayyyy! Btw do you have any Minilogue patches?!
Elegant ✌️
So you're opening up a recording studio, right? Seems like the next obvious step in all of this.
Her Goth Egg alter ego is bleeding into her titles

THE SHIRT OOMG THE SHIRT DUDEEEEEEEE THAT SHIRT SO BAD ASS
What was the pedal that looked like it had tape inside? Was that actual tape?
Maybe Echo Fix EX-F3? If so, then yeah it's real tape, made by probably the premier Space Echo repairman in the world.
Its the EF-X3 from Echo Fix!
@@emilyharpist I just looked up this pedal. Does the sound you input do a continuous echo via the tape loop?
Yeah! But it’s not a pedal - it’s a tape echo desktop studio unit! I have a whole video of it on my channel from last fall

Where’s the vocal layering with a dl4?

Can you run anything through pedals I honestly don't know anything about them
As long as your instrument has a 1/4” output, anything can! I’ll try to make a beginners episode soon!
@@emilyharpist that's awesome thank you so much

So can she actually sing

A vocoder artist? Wow must take years to get a degree. I mean that's a rare talent if I've ever witnessed one .
