I believe you're ignoring spells when used in combination. Glacius and diffindo are basically insta-kill for most non-boss enemies. But, mostly, you underestimate the power of the curse mechanic. Upgraded, Crucio and Avada Kedavra together just straight up break the game. Just cast Crucio on an enemy, shoot them a couple of times until basically the entire enemy group is cursed, then cast AK and basically you've already won nearly any encounter. And, honestly, nearly all spells can be S tier if you know how/when to use them.
I agree on this especially since winding up spell combinations to deal damage, or juggle enemies while using your basic cast to fill in the gaps is very useful in my opinion.
Yup yup. I agree with most everything here but Glacius. I don't know if I'd put it S or A but it's def not B. Sets up for easy one shot damage on so many enemies when followed up with certain spells.
Confringo should have been ranked higher considering that it is the first long range spell you get that does more damage and is really good early game (and it looks and sounds epic!)
Wingardium Leviosa has a use as a spell on its own - it can be used while stealthed to levitate objects above enemy heads and drop it on them, killing them from far away and remaining undetected. It's super fun.
I like Confringo because it is versatile, it can damage Inferius, useful in solving puzzle especially merlin trial due to its super long range , burn vine, blow obstacle and stealth triple kill( the extra projectile is quite powerful when you have 6 concentration III ).
Agreed, I keep confringo on me at all times. There are other "crowd control" spells, but confringo adds damage to multiple enemies and is ranged. Dodging is also a thing.
@@josephcline3652 agreed. not to mention that if you have it upgraded in dark spells. it casts curses on everyone when you upgrade confringio as it shoots multiple fireballs from main target.
I think you were a little generous with crucio. It’s a B tier imo cause it does little damage. You have to upgrade it, then it’s pretty much there to spread curses to set up the avera kedevra massacre. On its own without upgrades, the spell is kinda bad
If you’re not using any Unforgivable III upgrades on your gear crucio is a little lack luster. But I use 3 of them in my set up and crucio literally melts enemies even on hard mode. I proc curse on everyone, it’s breaks everyone’s shield, it stun locks nearby enemies that get cursed, and by the time I’m satisfied and ready to use avada kedavra, the main target is already dead because of the passive damage applied from crucio with the 3 unforgivable upgrades.
interesting to see other ppls preferences in spells. I don't even bother using incindio. its range is crap and its aoe is fine if you let ppl get close. but i preferred confringio way better.
Same, as soon as I unlocked confringo I never used incindio ever again. I don't like letting enemies get real close if I can avoid it so I personally prefer confringo for its longer range
my go to opener (for my 1st/main character) is either crucio and then other spells or accio and immediately decendo. but i have one my new character open with accio and then incindio.
Glacius and Confringo are a great combination spell, it does a ton of damage when Glacius is cast then followed by Confringo or bombada, the instant freeze then flames does a ton of damage.
I use accio then basic attack a few time then freeze them and use the spell to slam then into the ground and if they still have Heath I finish off with a Barbarda
My default set up is Confringo plus the three unforgivables. Confringo is versatile and has multiple uses in both combat and problem solving (plus good range and a fairly quick cooldown with upgrades). Imperio is useful when applied to the strongest enemy (Acromantula or Troll), spreading curses around as the big one attacks and slaughters others. Crucio spreads curses through the crowd of enemies like butter over toast (combines well with Confringo too, as its fire balls hit multiple enemies and can thus spread curses from multiple enemies). Avada Kedavra then one shots all enemies when they are all cursed, which they tend to be after using the other three correctly. I've found this combination can be so good it's anticlimactic (big group of enemies that is supposed to be difficult gets destroyed all at once in a few seconds with the right target choice and attack order). This set up made the Rookwood final encounter embarrassingly quick/easy for me. Mostly enjoy it though, in all honesty, because it feels like a natural default dark arts build.
Hey, Potions only hide you for a few seconds. This spell is absolutely game changing if used properly. Also have you tried using potions when you are about to been seen? It's crazy you are right in front and it hides you even though the detection is almost full
Lumos is #1 because it's the only thing which brings back memories the moment you use it. That sound is exactly the same as in the movies. For that its #1.
Accio-glacius-incendio-deffindo Glacius should always be used to buff incendio because it does the most damage, because of the short range you want to pull enemies in with accio first. If the enemy is still standing finish them off with second strongest spell diffindo.
Crucio is beyond S tier, combined with either Avada Kedavra or the upgraded transformation spell ill can kill groups of enemies in seconds no matter how big or small
This right here. I feel like Crucio is a beast of a set-up for AK. Even though it doesn't stun everything, still having the spread of the curse is super useful.
Diffindo easy S - high dmg + long rangen Glacius S - breaking yellow shields + dmg buff + stun Incendio easy A - highest dmg spell in the game Flippendo A - fast curse + break purple shields + easy stun and juggle Arresto Momentum not higher than B - bad glacius
One of my favourite things to do in this game is find an ashwinder near a ledge, cast levioso then depulso, and watch them fly into space and take 20,000 damage 👌👌👌
b..but flipendo is THE forgivable troll counter.. instead of blocking the last hit that slams the ground, dodge it, hit it with flippendo and that's a good chunk of their health gone and then they are still opened up for additional damage. I suppose if you have no qualms about using the unforgivables and their curse mechanic those easily outrank it in countering anything.. I've read that avada actually doesn't work against inferi, so teensy downside there, if held true. Another note, while I too like the transformation spell, it has a fairly long cooldown compared to other spells, which I'd have liked to see in consideration. I personally enjoy confringo over incendio for it's range. Too often I've tried to light up an enemy or a riddle piece only to have it puff into thin air.
When large spiders have their fangs stuck after decendo, use levioso to tear then apart. Akin to the smaller spiders when you cast levioso as they burrow.
Confringo is easy A or S tier, its definatly much better than bombarda since it has way shorter cooldown, deals with spiders and undead and is great for environmental stuff. Experlliarmus is also worse, since there are many enemies it doesn't affect. Glacio is better than Arresto momentum, Descendo is kinda trash, Incendio is only worth it if you also use Accio.
Defendo should be A tier not B. It does the highest single target damage in game. I also believe the Room of Requirement and Beast spells shouldn't be required to slot. With three pet and three room abilities they take up 1.5 sheets. If you take the extra three sheets for spells, and you should, it leaves 2.5 available for other spells.
Every skill needs to be upgraded here. Crucio to break shields and combo w aveda kevedra. Imperio is obvious. Transform basically gives you 2 free kills. Stack concentration 3 on all gear, then use all red skills for your second setup. Spam those until your green skills cooldown. Rinse and repeat. Easy mode. Use that plus maximus potion and focus and you’re on god mode.
This feels more like a tutorial of what spells do rather than finding the most accurate tier list. No Damage # comparisons or cooldown comparisons for general use. Example being Upgraded Confringo deals more damage than Bombarda. When factoring in its new AOE Damage. If you factor in Confringo's 10 second cooldown vs Bombarda's 15 second cooldown. Does Bombarda really belong 2 tiers above Confringo? Now you could chain combo Upgraded Bombarda from Upgraded Accio, but wouldn't Incedio at 8 second cooldown be better DPS in the long run? Since you wont have to wait for Bombarda to be off cooldown when wanting to chain it a second time. Since Accio is also an 8 second cooldown if I recall correctly. Not to discredit Bombarda, Its better than both Confingo/ Icedio in other ways. Just displaying that there's more layers for all the spells. That could have been factored in.
Great list gotta disagree on diffindo tho. If you use glacius and then diffindo it actually does the highest possible two spell damage (except for two damage spells). And by freezing one enemy and then using your dash to get the right angle I’ve been able to hit the second slice pretty often so if you can pull that off the talent point is well invested there as well
I use Concentration III trait on all my gear so I can use any spell I want. It's fun to Role play as different fictional characters using limited or specific element spells. Fun game
You have to consider combos, many spells are trash alone but OP when used in combos, take glacius as an example. Upgraded flipendo-glacius-diffindo-bombarda is an extremely strong combo against small enemies and trolls. Also you took combos into consideration on some spells but not on other ones.
Alohomora is the worst. It is -D spell and the puzzle and having to collect demiguise statues dropped game's playability to the floo for me. I mean, yes, you don't HAVE to open everything, but i'm a loot hoarder and love changing cosmetics every 2 minutes, so it annoyes me.
Wingardium and Lumos are quite underrated IMO With the former you can literally smack a target around infinitely with an environmental object to deal damage and break shields iirc. Lumos combines ridiculously well with the Focus Potion upgrade so that you can shorten the cooldown of the 3 other spells in your spell set
I prefer confringo over incendio. Actually I would give it an A. It has the range, it can jump to other enemies and only flame can cause damage to anything. Could be my fighting style but I always get caught off guard with the vey short range of incendio.
I love Confringo as well, but I still prefer Incendio because it's a bit stronger and has great AOE when upgraded. Also, I love the thrill of close quarters combat. Dashing into a group of enemies and then casting Incendio reminds me a lot of the Charge+Nova combo the Vanguard class from the Mass Effect series had
Yeah same, I only upgrade Glacius to do shatter aoe. Sometimes I dont even shoot Diffindo, instead I shoot off upgraded Bombardo at them for massive aoe with upgraded Glacius shatter aoe
Nah if you use the dash correctly you can often set up an angle to let you hit the second enemy with the talent. If you can pull it off and it’s not that hard then that talent point is definitely well spent
For my play style, incendio is next to useless. I just just use the upgraded version for oh crap moments. It’s at best c tier. The ranged version is vastly superior.
Aresto momentum also allows you to cast petrificus totalis on a single enemy. So for me this is an s tier spell given that it has an instant kill mechanic builtin.
I dont agree with you about Crusio , Insendio and Aresto momentom. I think Insedio is 1 of the most useless spells in the game due to range. Considering that most of the times you are outnumbered - the best strategy is to use dauge between cooldowns and fight at range. That is how beat the game. Aresto momentom is just nerfed Crusio. The difference is that Crusio does the same thing - it pulls a unit out of the fight but it has a few chaviats: 1. It goes true shields and brakes them which most light side spells cant 2. It does damage overtime which is a bonus and if you kill someone while its still active - it heals you 3. It does curse stack on a lot of units. All you need to do is cast Crusio and hit the guy a couple of times , the auto AOE blasts will curse everybody else (while Aresto M only does 1 guy). Then you press Avada Kadavra and you kill an entire stack. Its the most powerfull combo in the game. Aresto Momentom is only usefull if you role play light side only.
Man flipendo I think is such a slept on spell. I always run it with the three unfogivables. First in use impirio on the strongest enemy I c, then use crucio on anyone with a shield. I use flipendo to instantly curse any purple shield enemy then swap spell bars and use arresto momentum and exapeliarmus for the same reason. Then swap back and spam flipendo on anything that isn’t cursed yet due to its dummy fast refresh. Then shoot em with the AK 😂
There is no way you had 200+ hours In game at the time you released this video. Assuming you bought the deluxe edition you would have gained access on the 7th of Feb 11 days prior to the release of this video, that means you would have had to play a minimum of 18hours and 11mins a day. No eating or video editing, no going to the bathroom and only sleeping for 6 hours a day for a week and a half. What an odd thing to lie about.
The title says you played 200+ hours, the game released on 10th of february, you released the video on the 18th, thats 192 hours. The math isn't mathing.
Descendo and Glacio are combo spells. Glacio to Diffendo/Bombarda deals massive damage. Accio to Depulso to Descendo deals massive fall damage. Its Arresto Momentum that I'm not sure what it combos with. If you're just looking for a curse spreader, Flippendo is better because its easier to spam.
you want a fun combo? using their perks, use the following, flippendo, glacius, and descendo. doing this will curse and rise the enemy in the air, glacius will freeze the enemy and make the next bit of damage hit harder and explode some ice upon damage deal, and decendo will deal the damage as it brings the enemy to the ground while also dealing extra explosive damage from the perk as the enemy hits the ground. this is great to use on enemies that can be CC'ed, and if you want to add insult to injury, cast a casual bombarda after descendo, just as an extra fuck you
Hi swany, i wonder if we could have a video on which talents NOT to bother with. I saw the message when i unlocked the talents tree that they are limited, so it would be cool to know which ones not to bother with (rather than which ones are the best). Thanks!
Avada Kadavra doesn't work on inferi. If you use a focus potion you can cast crucio twice and have projectiles bounce off each other, dealing massive damage.
You mean dugbogs, or are there frogs later in the game I haven't seen yet? Because dugbogs get 1-shot if you Levioso their tongue attack and then slice it off with Diffindo. Turns them from annoying HP sponges to trivial material farming...
how is Aresto, apply curse mark with talen point (10% extra damage), beat 100% extra damage without talent point from Glacio? you got to sort your priority
Not sure why disillusion spell is c and expelliarmus at A, it literally has only 1 use and its disarm whilst disillusion can wipe entire camps with petrificus totalus which is the only thing you can do combat wise u can use it go get away and regen for free
How observant. It's almost as if when I was getting footage of each individual spell, I didn't try to parry to purpose. Step 1. Equip spell Step 2. Hit record Step 3. Spam the hell out of the spell so I can get footage of it. Step 4. End recording. Repeat Step 1.
i think crucio with unlocked talent should be s tier when paired with avada kedavra because you mark a lot of enemies with curse then kill all of them at once with avada kedavra.
You forget when you imperio someone you can basically spam petrificus totalus like ur invisible Imperio is my favourite spell I just hit troll with it and troll clean all of the goblins
Also, Expelliarmus is not A Tier. You'd be better off with a damage dealing spell. Why? Because defense is super easy. Dodge and Protego are spammable, plus Protego is an easy stun and damage thanks to its perks. You don't want to disable any enemy you can Protego. Bit better against people with unblockable attacks, but even then I'd rather put on a high damage spell. Expelliarmus is probably a B Tier spell at best.
@SupportNotHealer I can see if you combine with ancient magic throw. But then we would need to consider all combos (so Glacius-blades spell becomes awesome). Me, I rely on my block/counter ability a lot as I'm very good at Perfect Protego.
@@raginasiangaming910I see where you’re coming from but just standing there waiting for people to attack you and use protego or dodge gets kinda boring after a while. And with ancient magic throw you can deal pretty good damage and knock opponents out of their attacks while you’re waiting for glacius&diffindo to cooldown
Descendo, Glacius and Flipendo are severely underrated imo. The combo potential you have with Flipendo>Glacius>Descendo or Flipendo>Descendo>Galicia>Diffendo Basically guarantees a one shot on most enemies given you can stack unforgivable 3 which boosts the damage from the curse Flipendo applies. Also please respect Crucio bro, it’s legit the spell that makes Avada Kedavra hit its peak, it also damn near gives you two Avada Kedavra’s when paired with Unforgivable 3, Transformation trait to make exploding barrels and the talent that shares damage between all cursed enemies so you can throw an exploding barrel at one enemy and pretty much kill all the cursed ones along with it or damn near close to killing them all.
I believe you're ignoring spells when used in combination. Glacius and diffindo are basically insta-kill for most non-boss enemies. But, mostly, you underestimate the power of the curse mechanic. thats the beauty of the game
He put em in S and A tier. Also the curse mechanic was elaborated on with Imperio. I don't get the point.
That's a lot more work than pulling out a mandrake though.
I agree on this especially since winding up spell combinations to deal damage, or juggle enemies while using your basic cast to fill in the gaps is very useful in my opinion.
Crucio is S tier simply because it has the best casting animation.
and best sound
and best (male) voice line
Are u forgetting my killing curse
Crucible, spread curse with needed amount of auto attacks, Avada and win.
Unlimited Power 😉
Glacius is easy S tier. Its Crowd Control like most yellow/purple spells. But also greatly increases dmg from dessendo and stuff.
Agreed. The glacius/diffendo combo is stupid powerful and also just really fun
Also makes beast catching nearly automatic.

Accio-glacius-incendio-deffindo

Crucio is beyond S tier, combined with either Avada Kedavra or the upgraded transformation spell ill can kill groups of enemies in seconds no matter how big or small
This right here. I feel like Crucio is a beast of a set-up for AK. Even though it doesn't stun everything, still having the spread of the curse is super useful.
Also you can use a focus potion and cast in on two enemies to bounce projectiles, which can break your game (crash).
Diffindo easy S - high dmg + long rangen
Glacius S - breaking yellow shields + dmg buff + stun
Incendio easy A - highest dmg spell in the game
Flippendo A - fast curse + break purple shields + easy stun and juggle
Arresto Momentum not higher than B - bad glacius
Crucio, a couple taps with basic cast to spread curse to all and then killing curse. Now the whole wave is dead
The most powerful strategy is to max upgrade the mandrake and just kill everyone instantly

wingardium levioso is literally pointless when you can use it on accio
Are you doing the no Protego challenge or something?
I dont agree with you about Crusio , Insendio and Aresto momentom. I think Insedio is 1 of the most useless spells in the game due to range. Considering that most of the times you are outnumbered - the best strategy is to use dauge between cooldowns and fight at range. That is how beat the game. Aresto momentom is just nerfed Crusio. The difference is that Crusio does the same thing - it pulls a unit out of the fight but it has a few chaviats:
1. It goes true shields and brakes them which most light side spells cant
2. It does damage overtime which is a bonus and if you kill someone while its still active - it heals you
Why not just use all purple, all yellow, all green and all red spells. Equipped to all slots.
BRO DID YOU JUST PUT GACIUS IN B DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW GOOD THAT SPELL IS AND CRUCIO AT A BRO ARE YOU SURE YOU DID NOT JUST PLAY LIKE 30 MIN
bro put the worst yellow in S tier SMH
Why does this guy sound so much like Kermit the Frog
There is no way you had 200+ hours In game at the time you released this video. Assuming you bought the deluxe edition you would have gained access on the 7th of Feb 11 days prior to the release of this video, that means you would have had to play a minimum of 18hours and 11mins a day. No eating or video editing, no going to the bathroom and only sleeping for 6 hours a day for a week and a half. What an odd thing to lie about.
i hate how close range incendio is, i like keeping my distance from enemies, and thats why i would swap incendio and confringo
Once leveled up and you can pull multiple enemies toward you Incendio is a Blast
I think Crucio should be S tier cause it’s skill spreads curse so easily and breaks shields. But other than that good tier list 👍
It also combos with the transformation spell in a way similar to the avada kadava combo.
The title says you played 200+ hours, the game released on 10th of february, you released the video on the 18th, thats 192 hours. The math isn't mathing.
I had the game earlier than the 10th is why.
200+ hours 😂I've only just done 40
incendio should be S tier easily
Descendo and Glacio are combo spells. Glacio to Diffendo/Bombarda deals massive damage. Accio to Depulso to Descendo deals massive fall damage. Its Arresto Momentum that I'm not sure what it combos with. If you're just looking for a curse spreader, Flippendo is better because its easier to spam.
Avada kedavra: Im oneshot everything
Depulso: hi
My setup is the three unforgivables plus transfiguration. It allows me to do massive damage and break shield charms.
glacius next to flipendo?!
no way, freeze-slash is so strong, glacius easy S-Tier
you want a fun combo? using their perks, use the following, flippendo, glacius, and descendo. doing this will curse and rise the enemy in the air, glacius will freeze the enemy and make the next bit of damage hit harder and explode some ice upon damage deal, and decendo will deal the damage as it brings the enemy to the ground while also dealing extra explosive damage from the perk as the enemy hits the ground. this is great to use on enemies that can be CC'ed, and if you want to add insult to injury, cast a casual bombarda after descendo, just as an extra fuck you
Hi swany, i wonder if we could have a video on which talents NOT to bother with.
Crucio is S tier, because of how well it works with Avadakedavra.
Flipendo is essential when fighting trolls and those large frogs 😊
You mean dugbogs, or are there frogs later in the game I haven't seen yet? Because dugbogs get 1-shot if you Levioso their tongue attack and then slice it off with Diffindo. Turns them from annoying HP sponges to trivial material farming...
@@tomj819 Bruh, I brute-forced every dugbog in the game. First with ancient magic then with crucio.
@@Gaze73 oooof! Yeah most of the enemies if they take a long time they have a key spell combo to bust them up.
how is Aresto, apply curse mark with talen point (10% extra damage), beat 100% extra damage without talent point from Glacio? you got to sort your priority
My guess would be the relationship between curse marks and chaining Avada Kedavra
All spells are D tier in comparison to plants.
I JUST BOUGHT THE GAME. I'M SO EXCITED. just wanted to went my frustration with waiting 2 days before i can finally play
Wait so you are telling me for flipendo if you time it correctly it could be used as avada kedavra for burrow spiders?
Glacius combined with Diffindo insta kills a ton of enemies by shattering them
WHY THE HELL IS CONFRINGO NOT IN S
Question, does the talent enduring curse make impero's mind control duration last longer?
No it doesn't, just makes the curse mark they get last.
Glacius + Diffindo = SS tier
Not sure why disillusion spell is c and expelliarmus at A, it literally has only 1 use and its disarm whilst disillusion can wipe entire camps with petrificus totalus which is the only thing you can do combat wise u can use it go get away and regen for free
What is your gameplay videos name
Good list!
know what else is S tier?
Parrying, which you did zero times in this video lmao.
How observant. It's almost as if when I was getting footage of each individual spell, I didn't try to parry to purpose.
Step 1. Equip spell
Step 2. Hit record
Step 3. Spam the hell out of the spell so I can get footage of it.
Step 4. End recording.
Repeat Step 1.
@@SwanyPlaysGames Be less defensive, I gave you a complement and made a stupid joke, no need to get upset.
i think crucio with unlocked talent should be s tier when paired with avada kedavra because you mark a lot of enemies with curse then kill all of them at once with avada kedavra.
i found out a couple pf days ago that glacius with diffindo makes the best offense combo in the game
Descendo causes damage though, if you upgrade it at least. Not just the enemies around it either.
You forget when you imperio someone you can basically spam petrificus totalus like ur invisible
Imperio is my favourite spell
I just hit troll with it and troll clean all of the goblins
I don‘t like imperio to not work proper in stealth. Would be so cool if the enemies would not heal themselves afterwards
I consider is A Tier because of the interactions you can get with some of the enemies you encounter.
11:56 😂😂😂 I guess being helpful doesn't matter
Descendo, Glacius and Flipendo are severely underrated imo. The combo potential you have with
Flipendo>Glacius>Descendo or
Flipendo>Descendo>Galicia>Diffendo
Basically guarantees a one shot on most enemies given you can stack unforgivable 3 which boosts the damage from the curse Flipendo applies.
Accio works like wingardium leviosa
Lumos is S just cause nostalgic sound it generates
Shadow money wizard gang
We love casting spells
I would love a 30 hours dlc with more spells but doubt it's going to happen barely any dev makes lon dlc unless its cd projects with the witcher
