Alright guys here’s a tip for CVT drivers. IF you want to maximize SOUND drive WITH paddle shifters(“manual” mode) in S. When you come to a stop make sure you’re in first gear and as you accelerate, the exhausts sound really comes out. ALSO if you want the crackling noise slow down in first gear but don’t step on the brakes as much. Let the rpm meter lower itself and if you roll down ur windows u can hear the crackles/gurgles. IF you want to maximize SPEED. DO NOT use the shifters. Just keep it in s mode and step on it. Sound wont be as loud.
I know it’s a year later but.. I just got my 2021 sport hatch cvt and I like this Borla, it’s $800 now which is affordable.
I was thinking if I put it in S mode where it holds higher rpms and let it engine brake a bit when coming to a stop that’s probably gonna be the best time for sound. :D
Or just learn to drive a manual…😂
@@ASneakyFox10 I have to give it to you I agree we work with what we got 💯💯💯
Thanks for the video man, placed my order today! Was hesitant since I've heard a few "straight pipes" and such that were obnoxiously loud. I'll admit, we don't have the best sounding car but this exhaust certainly does it some justice!
No problem man, that’s exactly why I made the video like I did, to give people as good of an example of the range of sound of the exhaust without having to buy it first. Enjoy it Brandon!
Omg bro when you rip it at the end that exhaust sounds amazing
You’ll be happy with it, it’s not too loud but let’s you know it’s there. 👍🏻 and no drone which was a great seeking point for me.
This is as close to the Elantra N exhaust as I can find. Ordering 1 next week!
Well, this helped me make up my mind on which aftermarket system I want.
Awesome, that is exactly why I put this video up on UA-cam, for anyone that was not sure and wanted some sound demonstrations, everyone has their own taste of what they like their car to sound like. For me the Borla is the best sound that I like to hear from my Hatch. Stay tuned I will be posting a new video from inside the car with the new camera that I purchased... I am curious, which system did you settle on NuriEndellion?
Raytheon I just ordered the borla after hearing this. I was really unsure about the 27won and the magnaflow seemed too quiet for me.
Yes, I also have an Injen SRI but that is currently all for now.
Is this catback or full?
Did you guys get a chance to get the sound decibel reading?
I’m ordering this I think
Do you have any other mods?
Was thinking about trading my si for the hatch
is yours a manual
I wonder how this will sound with my catless dp. Trying to decide between this and greddy
Hi! Just wondering do you have a whistling sound when you step full throttle on this exhaust?
the civic intake box is built to remove that turbo whistle if you want that noise you gotta do a intake but it's not a huge turbo so you still won't hear it to loud
Love how this sounds. Am thinking about this for my Hatchback sport. It’s easily reversible correct? I have it on a lease. This doesnt require a tune correct?
Mike H yes the system is completely bolt on, no modification necessary, you don’t have to do a tune on your Civic if you install it. I have the Borla and and Injen SRI and everything works well, I am still able to get 40+ mpg if I stay off the throttle lol.
Raytheon thanks for the quick reply. That was I was thinking, but just wanted to make sure. Thanks!
Raytheon I ended up doing a muffler delete. So much cheaper and sounds better to me 🤷🏻♂️
Mike H can you post a video?
Would I get that crackle without having to do any engine mods?
Mitsubishi yes, you would, I haven’t done anything to my Hatch besides the catback and the Injen SRI, it sounded that way with the stock intake as well so the intake didn’t affect the sound of the exhaust.
Sounds sweet, did you have to weld at all during installation or are the hangars enough support?
No welding at all, the system comes prefabricated to hook into all of the factory hangers, the install is very precise.
has anyone put this exhaust on the si sedan? do you know if the part number you have for this fits the si sedan?
Marco Gonzalez I don’t know if anyone has put this on an Si sedan or even if it would fit the sedan, you would have to contact Borla on that.
I did put the Si version of this exhaust on the hatchback.
did you consider the Thermal R&D at all? Im trying to decide between Borla and the Thermal R&D exhaust
Elizabeth Johnson no I did not consider the Thermal R & D system, for me the sound wasn’t what I wanted and I wasn’t a fan of the exhaust outlet, plus I am biased to Borla due to the fact I had a Borla Catback on my 09 Civic Si for me it’s just the best sounding system.
@raytheon haha alright well thanks to your vids and all your helpful comments i'm probably going to get a Borla exhaust. thanks!
Elizabeth Johnson no problem, that’s exactly why I posted them, to help people decide what they wanted for their Hatch, thanks for watching and for your comments 🙂
Sounds great. Does this exhaust come with a front pipe?
FKSE7EN if you’re referring to the down pipe then no, it bolts up to the existing down pipe... I hope this answers your question.
No, the down pipe is from the turbo. The front pipe sometimes called a flex pipe comes afterwards which connects to the pipe with the resonator.
FKSE7EN then yes it comes with that, it comes with everything after the flex pipe, it connects to the end of the flex pipe.
Can anyone forward me the link of this exhaust?

Hey bro I have a 18 si and wanting to get Borla is it really loud in person? I live in California 😒
Ricardo Ramirez no it’s not loud in person, I mean yes it’s louder than stock, you may want to reach out to Borla to get the db rating on the system but it’s by far not loud. I hope this gives you some insight Sir.
How is the drone in the car? Can you post another video of inside the car?
There is no drone inside the car, I will make a video in a week or so to demonstrate the sound from inside the car.
Shane Parr thank you! Also can you do some fly bys?
The fly by video will likely take me a while, I don't have anyone to film it where I live, I will have to wait until I go back home and get my buddy to do it for me.
Shane Parr ok! I’m subscribed to you anyway! Thanks for the reply and if you could post the video of the inside the car I would appreciate it! No rush though!! Thank you
It’s not too loud in person is it?
I don’t want it to sound ricy at all.
Usernamebreh not at all, you have to keep in mind that my GoPro was about 4 inches from the exhaust, it does not sound ricey at all, the sound is very mild and isn’t loud at all. Check out my other videos and you can tell it’s not very loud, it just lets you know it’s back there. I’m very happy with the sound and the fact there is no cabin drone.
Raytheon thanks a lot bro,I also went with the magnaflow first but I didn’t like the drone and the fact that’s it’s black and doesn’t match with the badges.
The borla is on sale for 650 on Amazon so hopefully I’ll be a lot happier with this one
Sounds amazing. Still deciding for my hatch though. What other exhausts did you consider? I'm considering borla or greddy at this point. Magnaflow seems to quiet imo.
I actually purchased the Magnaflow and did not like the way it sounded so that's when I decided to get the Borla, and I can tell you Borla is a precision made system, fitment and their attention to detail as far as installation is excellent and they do a wonderful job of packaging the system up and protecting it from any damage from shipping.
Hey guys I’m receiving the borla exhaust in a couple days... did you install yourself and was it difficult??, thanks man
BECHR BECHR yes Sir I did, it was time consuming, and something to get to make it easier for you, I recommend getting exhaust hanger pliers, they are worth their weight in gold! The fitment is precise, it took me about an hour and a half to install it, I’m not a speedy mechanic lol you should be able to do it if you have any mechanical experience at all 👍🏻
Raytheon thanks for replying so quickly.. really you say it’s not that difficult??? Did ya only have the car on jacks..???
BECHR BECHR yes Sir, I jacked it up from the driver’s side with a jack and jack stand and accessed everything like that... Leaves just enough working room to get the job done.
Where did you buy this from
Tyler W I have looked through my documents and can’t seem to find the place that I purchased it from, I do know that it was a third party retailer, it’s much cheaper to buy from them than Borla directly. But I picked it up for around $650.00.
Raytheon I like that price better than what I’m finding right now
Cvt or manual?
I have the 6-Speed maual.
