- Construction of Fleming Yachts began at the Tung Hwa boat yard in southern Taiwan in 1985 under the personal supervision of Tony Fleming. Today, all Fleming Yachts continue to be built by Tung Hwa and are sold through a network of authorized dealers in the United States, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and Japan. Tony retired from active participation in Fleming Yachts in 2007. This allowed him the time to cruise on his own Fleming 65 "Venture" and use her as a test bed for new ideas and equipment. Tony's feedback and real world cruising experience is continually being used to further the development of every new Fleming.

I was rather pleased with that detail too, and extremely impressed with the quality and installation of the electrical circuits in the engine room! Really beautifully done by real craftspeople whom genuinely care about their work.
Irrespective of the Master Stateroom and amenities, or the decor, all of which are obviously going to look impeccable, I believe a lot may be learned by studying the Engine Room and it's systems, ancillaries, wiring and piping, together with all the least accessible places and routings, etc.
The engine room was my favorite place, very closely followed by the superb electronic main console, housing their custom systems analysis and control system!
What a system this is, once trained and experienced, one can be their own Chief Engineer!
This video would certainly encourage me to consider this company were I in the market for a vessel of the type that they produce, and I would then commence my due diligence.
That's why Flemings are worth so much money compared to other yachts of their size. They have such high standards and build quality, not many yacht builders can compare to their quality and attention to detail.
At 78 a Fleming yacht is still my dream.

I don't care for the non full displacement hull and the use of computer software for instrument read-outs. So for me Fleming yachts aren't perfection, for my needs...but I totally love Tony Fleming's labour of love in creating these incredible yachts...and his travel-logs are the best...really, he deserves credit for those alone....his videos are so beautiful and inspiring. Fleming yachts are stunning....but I am always drawn back to Kadey-Krogen...but we all have our own criteria that makes us adore the yachts we adore....I totally get the attraction to Flemings....great speed, comfort, amazing attention to detail. Speaking as a Kadey-Krogen man 🙂
This is by far the best boat builder video, I have seen on the net. Really great for the upper staff to be so involved. It would have been nice to see, the install of the engines and components into the hull of the boat during construction, from the point of shipping and receiving to the cranes lowering in the engines and systems. Yet despite the absence of that note, really good video. And beautiful vessels, such amazing quality and craftsmanship.

From all the different types and styles of yachts I've seen, these are by far my favorite. Attention to detail and luxury, fit and finish. For a retired couple this is the yacht you should have.

John, you could do far worse. The Fleming traces it's lineage back to Grand Banks, for whom Tony Fleming designed for many years. It's time-provem lines and modern refinements make it a sound investment, and a joy to cruise.
@@geofffleming12I grew up on 35 foot egg harbor.out of Winthrop ma. At 14 years of age I was taking it down east it to the cape. Our plain is to live full time in New England for the summer,down south for the winter. When everything is in place this fall that's when we buy
By the way it's the quality of the Fleming that keeps me looking at them.
@@johnbettano6026 CT waters were my summer playground. New England cruising would be very comfortable on a Fleming. The migration south is much the same, with little need to stir the mud in the ICW. The Fleming is more than sturdy enough to run offshore ; so much so that once you reach Florida, you'll find yourself watching the sky for the right weather to make the run to Bimini, and the greater Caribbean.

The culture of a company is a huge factor of it's success. It's great to see that Adi and Duncan share the same philosophy as Tony Flemming and will continue that legacy. The company is in good hands.

@William Burnette - You asked during the video premiere is the FirstMate system reduced the amount of wiring by replacing copper/tin with fiber. The answer is yes and no. It reduces the heavy gage copper wiring significantly by replacing a lot of it with much lighter data cable and CAN bus network cable (N2K cable).
What a classic design, the look and quality can not be denied...

absolutely the best cruisers on the market, nothing has been forgotten, back up systems for almost everything, a boat I would love to have.
Fleming 58 is my dream. They're all so classy and beautiful. No doubt that they have a timeless design with the semi displacement hull and beautiful wood.

Fleming does a great job, and for good reason. The people who work there are a team that pulls together. I am not a boat owner right now, but hopefully in the near future.
I have my health, now if I could afford a Fleming Yacht my life would be perfect. These boats are top of line and are what dreams are made of. Also Tony's videos let me see some of the oceans beauty in far flung locations accessible only with a boat of this quality. Thanks from Canada. :)

It is fascinating to see the gradual development and the lovely ethos in the factory, but I do think the outstanding feature is just that classic look. Love this.
Managerial ethos is first rate and the fact that the same families have remained as a constant workforce over the years says it all. If I could afford one this would be my go to boat builder.
Please do more specific content for engine installations, bow and stern thrust installations, fibre glass layering, etc.
Basically do a step by step video for each phase of build.
This was a great video for company ethos and client relationships which you take very seriously. As someone who left boating 20 years ago your video now makes me want a Fleming at 70 years of age.

I happened to watch one Venture cruising film and I was immediately hooked. Not that I could ever afford one of these fabulous boats, but after watching four or five travel films I'm living the life as a shipboard traveler vicariously. The films are very professionally done, from narration to all aspects of making the film beautiful and interesting. I liked the fact the crew did not hold back on the notion of exploration, they went to places off the beaten path as if they were carrying the spirit of Lewis and Clark. I would like to just say if I were ever fortunate enough to purchase a yacht, I know now it would be a Fleming. Thank you for the detailed and genuine presentation of your company, well done.

Best job in the world! I'm currently running a Lagoon 630 Catamaran in the Med where she is absolutely perfect for my current cruising needs. Before that it was a Beneteau Trawler Swift 50. But I'm currently looking ahead to my future plans for some serious long term, long distance cruising and over the last few weeks, have been watching all of Tony Flemings cruising videos... Alaska, Iceland, Norway etc... and I have to say I've become obsessed with the Fleming 65. I've always loved Trawlers and combined with the almost over-engineered build quality, when it's time to let my Lagoon go, I'll definitely be replacing her with a Fleming 65.

Absolutely amazing to see the new faces behind Fleming Yachts. I personally came across the Fleming yacht YT channel some years ago. I immediately fell in love with Tony Fleming and the boat design he created. So much even that I took inspiration of the yachts and adventures on the boat Venture, and named my own 27 foot steel cruiser, completely restored with my own hands, of course, Venture. Not even close to the beauty of a real Fleming Yacht, but I tell every one who ask about the name how I came by it. And there are a few since I supposedly did a great job on the restoration!
What a wonderful business and of course a great boat. One day my dreams might come true 👍

safe to call classic. I was aircraft mechanic as well. I learned the front of boeing planes has been around since the 40s with slight changes... 100mph to 900. Time goes by, what is done with it can leave the illusion that not much has changed. Great story. I love the electronic leaps and bounds. Makes beautiful things.

I have had the privilege to work with Adi and Duncan for many years now and I is my considered opinion that while the quality of the boat is in large part a testimony to the shipyard, the consistency of the product quality over the years is the direct result of the continued, personal and daily involvement of Duncan, Adi and previously Toni Fleming. Congratulations gentlemen on a winning formula and a great lineup of luxury yachts. Hope to see you again soon in Kaohsiung once this Covid business is behind us.

Enjoyed the video. I have a good friend who is on his second Fleming--a 58. The video helps me to better appreciate the boat and his relationship with the vessel.
Amazing boats by a dedicated and talented team. The hard decision is always , "A Fleming? or a Nordhavn?" both have excellent sea keeping capabilities, Fleming has higher speed capability and probably a lead in technical specs. But Nordhavn have more internal space and distance. Decisions, Decisions!

Cannot say enough about what I have learned of Fleming Yachts thru all of the videos. I do believe that I have seen everyone now. So just a small observation if I may? How about offering a sea anchor WITH three days of instruction for all new hulls? I grew up on the shores of Yukon Harbor west of Blake Island in Puget Sound. Owned @ water skiied behind 16 foot jet boat and spent 3 years in wheelhouse of US Army FS 313. 176 ft steel hull, twin GM V6 500 hp diesels, 12 knots. Moored Pier 23 Tacoma WA. GOD SPEED TONY, GOD SPEED.

Years ago I did some filming at a similar company, Hatteras yachts; it wasn't until then I became aware of the extravagant life of the rich and how far removed I was from that affluent life...not envy, just shocked at the excess.
I always think to myself if I ever win the lottery it's either a fleming or a silent, beautiful boats the lot of them

I'm not going to repeat what others have said, but enough to say just stunning. I particularly like the ethos of Fleming Yachts, what will make it safer and easier for the owner to use. I would like to see a video on the aftersales and owner training on how to use the systems for their new home on the water.
