- We have sold our Fleming 65 and are embarking on the journey of building and taking delivery in April 2024 of a Fleming Yachts 85. We visited Taiwan in December 2022 not quite knowing what to expect and this video is our thoughts on that trip.
Thanks for letting us join in your adventures. Just binged all your videos. You must be disappointed to have missed that PNG trip, Hope we can see more of the Fleming 85,
We are sad we missed PNG. We now have a young man from PNG on as crew so we hope to get there one day
As a fan of Nordhavn Videos, nice to see another brand on UA-cam with a couple solo navigating it. The fact that it's an 85 is so impressive and inspiring. Shout out from Oakland California. Got a new SUB.
Thanks for that!! We'll hit California one day in a few years, Come for a visit. Nordhavn's a great too - and the more content on UA-cam the better right?
Finally we get a glimpse at this yacht. would have liked to see more.
Fleming is taking forever to unveil this yacht. I would have preferred Fleming to have built this yacht in secret, then announce it to the world. Instead of announcing it, then letting us wait in agony for what seems to be eternity.
It is worth the wait. The boat is amazing as you would expect and in the flesh beautiful. I believe there will be more footage to come and we will keep updating on our build progress.
Congratulations. We finally see the Fleming 85 has build completed and see owner also. It is wonderful to see you guys to own the beautiful boat and we will get the epic boat trip and video. Waiting for your next video.
Next videos soon....
Well go you two ❤
Thanks!
Wow, the Fleming 85 looks like a magnificent addition to the line. I live near the Fleming outpost in Florida and I see Fleming's steaming by frequently. They cut through the water with great authority.
I look forward to future videos about the build process of your new Fleming. Thanks for sharing the adventure.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. We're trying to do our best...
I can't wait until we get a thorough look at this magnificent yacht.
We're back to visit in August and our hull will be a lot further along. We'll be trying to achieve a more contemporary interior to the historical Fleming interior.
Congratulations to your choice of next level. What a top notch dreamboat you are developing. Good luck and happy building time....
Thank you very much!
Congratulations! That's great news , they are beautiful.
Thank you so much!
Looking forward to your adventures on the new 85!
So are we..... land locked for now.
Finally a vid on an actual 85! Hopefully all the YT'ers are hopefully gonna finally start uploading vids on this long awaited boat in the next year. Been waiting so impatiently. Like Aquaholic and Boattest.
I hope so too!
Just found your channel and you’ve made some beautiful videos about the Fleming lifestyle! They are very interesting and I hope to see some new ones with the 85 as well!
Another video has now been put up
Really nice looking boat should meet your needs well.
Fingers crossed! (It will)
I am very envious but wish you Bon Voyage on your new yacht. As a sailor of an old sailboat I would love a Fleming for my retirement. Sadly I cannot afford one and if I won the lottery tomorrow old age would get me before Fleming could deliver. Enjoy every minute with her, the Fleming too. 😀
Have a look at the latest video!
Congratulation again on your coming ugprade and I so look forward to discover this wonderful ship of yours. As it is, A ship. I have a question, I've noticed the Beam is 20.6ft on the 85 versus 21.5 on the 78. As the beam is a bit wider with each size over from the 55 to the 78, any particular reason to this exception on the 85? Stability? Water penetration, weight ratio? Performances over water drag? Thanks again for sharing with us you passion and adventures.
Hi Sebastin,
The hull shape of the 85 is slender compared to most of the other models. The additional waterline length and fine entry provides a very efficient cruiser. If the internal space were more of a consideration for us we would perhaps pursue a Nordhavn or Horizon. Plus the Fleming is beautiful, right?
@@cruisingfreja Agreed! and the space is already amazing and quite a step up from the 65. fleming remains in my belief a better vessel on many aspects than other competitors. especially for long range cruising and Ocean capabilities, which is what flemings are know for ! Looking forward to see Freja 85 come to life and to follow your adventures!
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Pretty cool.
We agree!
NOW THAT IS AWESOME! Congrats.
Thanks!!
its a great boat as of course is the 65 which we started to look at upgrading from our 55 - what are your reasons for the move up to 85 and what do you see as trade-offs if any? Thanks, Paul & Tanya
Thanks Paul, new video out. We should chat more!
I hope that the 85 is treating you well! -- QUESTION -- Can you say what the MPG on your 65 was if your speed was set to get the very best millage so you can go as far as possible? Could you stretch the millage to cross the Atlantic Ocean if you went slow?
We didn't so much go on MPG as we preferred to do our calcs using LPH for a certain speed. We did most of our cruising at 9 knots and that typically was 41LPH (11 Gallons per Hour)
Congratulations, what a wonderful boat. Many happy cruises to you.
I just noticed in a glimpse these softtouch switches on the wipers panel. I would prefer old style physical switches as these are serviceable, but that's just my opinion.
Always have a good trip !
Hi Peter, they tell us the new wipers are an improvement on the old - time will tell.
Fleming Yachts is a renowned luxury yacht manufacturer known for its high-quality, seaworthy vessels designed for long-range cruising. Their yachts are typically built with a semi-displacement hull, which provides stability and fuel efficiency at a variety of speeds. Fleming yachts are also known for their spacious interiors and exceptional craftsmanship, with many customizable features available to suit the preferences of individual owners. Overall, a Fleming yacht is a top-of-the-line vessel that is both comfortable and reliable for extended cruising.
Thanks John, well summed up indeed. The technology gains are also amazing and on full show on this nxet boat. and we'll do a more modern contemporary interior..... stay tuned.
I saw on the Fleming website that y'all had taken delivery of the new 85. Will you be doing videos of your travels once again?
The next video 8s up. Sorry for the delay!
Is there an update that I have missed on this new buils. Trust every thing is ok with you Two.
John
There is a new video of the completed boat coming very very soon.
Congratulations 🍾
Thank you!!
In due course an interesting video would be the handover process of the 85 from Fleming. One thing I often wonder (which wouldn't pertain to you guys) is if you were first timers even say on a 55, imparting all the knowledge on how everything on the boat works must be a significant job.
I believe there is a Fleming video soon to drop of our time handing over in Kaohsiung. That might help but we will try to include it too.
How exciting! I saw that Fleming had come out with the 85, but I hadn't seen one yet. Did y'all take delivery in April as expected? Will you be doing more adventure videos? Looking forward to seeing more.
We've done our next video, a little late but it gives a better view of the boat finished
I look forward to seeing a walkthrough of your new 85. When will you start cruising with her? Thank you.
The walk through is coming very soon
That looks great guys! Not sure of your destinations but I hope a world tour is in order... This will be something to watch!
Thanks. We are picking up the boat at the yard and making our way thru Asia to Europe in 2024. May not be too many videos between now and then but once we get under way there will be....
❤👍
Thanks.
i like the looks of this tradition style yacht and these new funky yacht designs i find appalling
100% correct! Too many angles and hard lines around today in yacht design. I understand it in sailing yacht design but moor yachts look more beautiful with lines like a Fleming. Thanks for your comment.
I just found your channel, and have watched all videos. Congrats on the 85! Will you be posting more content during the build (will you be visiting the shipyard more often)?
We will be posting a lot more content. We are 4 months from completion and current videos and pictures dont really do justice to the build. We are picking the boat up in the yard and travelling through Asia and to Europe so plenty to film and share. Thanks for the kind words.
Fantastic to hear; looking forward to more excellent content!
Peter Gore Seer,
We In Britain Have Sunseaker,Broom,Pluss Many Other First Class Boat Building, You Cannot Beat Home Built.
True!
So you went from a 55 to a 65 and now an 85 all in a little over a year? You may just have caught the yachting bug lol.
Last yacht purchase forever!! Promise
Was it difficult to sell the 65 and did you get the price you were expecting?
It was less difficult than expected and the price we got was fair. There are very few high quality Fleming 65's on the market and the wait is at least a couple of years and added to that the new price is about 30% more than the sale price we achieved. A good outcome for us and probably a very good outcome for the buyer I expect. Everyone is happy!
@@cruisingfreja Not everyone is happy. I did not get a chance to even bid on the 65:(
👍
We're having a go at least!!
4 month old video and you guys are still wearing masks? Australia.. lol...😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The masks were worn in Taiwan as at the time the local requirement was to wear them. We were back there a few months ago and the requirement has gone.
