  • In December of 2020, we announced the beginning of a new flagship - the Fleming 85 - to a resounding response from our Fleming owners and to the yachting media. The F85 was to be the finest semi-displacement raised pilothouse cruising yacht in the world with ocean-crossing range. Since the initial renderings were first introduced, there have been 7 Fleming 85's ordered, the first 3 of which are either already out cruising or getting ready to be.
    Stay tuned for an update on the Fleming Yachts 85 launching on 7/27 at 10am Eastern Standard Time.

      Bloody hell mate. Enough prancing around with horses - get on the water! Call your new sea-horse “Eleanor“ if it helps, but just do it. Start with a cheap 30’ cruiser 😉 Cheers, Michael 🇦🇺

      Me too. That style is real cool.... i just wish it was powered by one engine instead of 2.
      Its not about speed when your at sea.

    Loving the evolution of The Fleming family.
    Particularly impressed that solar is being incorporated into the power needs.
    Odd that few large yachts, both sail and motor, ignore this additional power source.
    Looking forward to Captain Steve’s review.

      @emiliodomenech4630 Рік тому +3

      That solar is mostly for show, no way you get any significant power with that limited amount of surface area. Not to mention lets also hoped they followed some type of industry standard safety protocol for the battery room

    • @williamgibb5557
      @williamgibb5557 Рік тому +3

      That solar system is probably only used to keep batteries at full charge. Whether at sea or at Anchorage.

    I had the privilege of seeing a Fleming 55 at the recent Sydney Boat Show. I was also able to meet 1 of the gentlemen from this video and chatted with him about the 85. To finally see a FLEMING in the flesh, was amazing. My wife, who doesn't particularly like boating, was SO impressed with everything that she is now asking how we can get one. At well over $4m for the 58, I think it is beyond us, but we can certainly dream. Thank you for your time at the boat show, and thank you to the owner of the 55 at the show. An impressive boat!

    Finally it's arrived !
    Been waiting on the details of the new F85 ever since the first mention by you guys
    I love it !
    You've taken the best and made it better which is an incredible achievement
    Having such a high degree of standard equipment is inspired as it makes the build easier and the owners very happy I'm sure
    I want to congratulate you on your new venture (excuse the use of that word) and I know that you will enjoy great success with the F85
    I look forward to speaking to you when the time comes for me to place an order
    I'm on the East Coast of Scotland and as you will know we have variable seas here
    The new F85 will be perfect for my particular lifestyle
    Once again congratulations to you and all the people responsible for building such a fine yacht
    I also look forward to the various You Tube tests from the usual suspects

    Beautiful yacht. Very impressive packaging and fit out. Would love to see a new entry sized yacht. Maybe a 45-50 that mimics the profile and layout of the range but for a two-stateroom platform. This new size would allow for an earlier introduction (lower cost) to the brand as well as a more manageable size for couples.

    I'm a Trader owner so not quite up to the 'dizzy' heights of Fleming but I must say I had a look round the '65 (I think) at Southampton a couple of years ago and had a good chat with the sales guy. You have some very nice attention to detail which are usually functional touches and not just for show. From what I've seen so far I think you've some very impressive motor yachts. Hopefully I'll get to have a look round an '85 at some point. Keep up the good work😎

    She's lovely. Theres so much that's just as it should be on display. The passerelle made my day, and the cradle for the tender on the articulated swim platform is a nice, intuitive touch. More of everything that was right about the 55 is surely a win, but paired with refined modern electronics, it's a literal dream boat. She wears the Fleming name well!

  • @Jumbo-D

    2500 NM Range ?!?! Video stated that Fleming wanted to make a boat with true ocean crossing capability, what happened? The Fleming rep stated that this 85 will have the same range as the 65, is the 65 an ocean crossing boat now? This is just more proof that the words long range and semi-displacement hull should never be used in the same sentence. Cool boat, but as far as capability, besides sleeping more people then the 65, what we have here is a very pretty and large coastal cruiser.

    • @anthony-1357
      @anthony-1357 2 місяці тому

      2500nm at 10 knots. Would be 5000nm at 7 knots which is similar to the Kady Krogen 70 in terms of range.

    I saw a pictures of the Enclosed Flybridge 85’ and it’s the first Fleming that I didn’t like the looks of. It made a Fleming look common, like other builders’ enclosed flybridge boats.
    Obviously, the dislike is personal preference, because Fleming is my #1 favorite brand of explorer type boats.

    I like the choice of Mastervolt for the batteries, inverters and charging. I have serviced or installed all the major brands, and Mastervolt is the nicest equipment I have worked with for lithium battery banks.
    With your system can you run the AC overnight on battery power? Within reason, if it's not super hot?
    I hope all boats are soon able to cycle the generator rather than have it on most of the day, eliminating a lot of low load hours, even in hot climates. Thank you for the video!

    Agreed,finally solar incorporated...that is a massive help..the build quality we all know will be exemplary...if being honest,it is only the exterior look/styling that will stop many from considering,regardless if they miss out on 1 of the finest boats available...guys will like the looks more than the women and that's a fact.If based in uk or canada/us,where it may be colder and wetter, then the enclosed top deck would be my choice.I have always wanted an enclosed/private skylounge though with just the main pilothouse on main deck...if had funds i may have to compromise on something or have to buy bigger.

    Nice job 👍 I would like to see a way to stop the water from rising up the bow while underway. This has got to cause higher fuel burn pushing water that doesn’t need to be pushed. Just my opinion 😊

    • @Tinbopaloobop
      @Tinbopaloobop Рік тому +1

      The bow is high enough not to get the deck wet. If you see a flemming under way at full throttle, punching into a sea, it is bone dry on deck.
      A spray rail will deflect water down and away sure, but it also creates more resistance because the water is being forced in a different direction suddenly, also causing noise and vibration. Having no spray rail results in a smoother ride and letting the sea taking it’s natural path means you are not wasting energy.
