I want to over clock this as there is so much more to be gained.
My Palit Gaming Pro (non OC) is a base model card with a 100% power limit and it easily teachers 3100-3200 MHz when OCed. You really don't get any more performance from the more expensive "premium" cards.
11:00 this is legitimately the exact feeling of getting a car that turns out to be a factory freak😂. Literally revising the factory tune on all factory parts yielding big power. Then simply removing restrictions and turning up boost n fuel almost doubles factory output, AND IT JUST WORKS!! There’s nothing like it 😂😂
I have that exact card on order, but the white version. If it ever turns up, it's going to be a huge upgrade from what I have now. And I love to play with overclocking, so nice to see there's some headroom and good thermals.
I get my RTX 5080 in a few days and CAN'T WAIT to OC it... I remember pushing my GTX 1080ti when I first got it (and 8800 GTX long before that lol). I just can't wait to enjoy 4k 244hz OLED gaming!! Just finished a new 9800x3d build (HUGE upgrade from an i7 7700k and 3060ti). Got a new 4k OLED monitor (still in box as I don't want to spoil the moment till my 5080 can make it shine) and am just waiting for the RTX 5080 to arrive. _ Also just have to note... All of you complaining about "influencers" and "youtubers" supposedly stealing your card? That isn't how it works. AT ALL. They get cards that were never going to be released to retail, so them getting a test unit doesn't mean there is somehow one less at your store. Simmer down with the nonsense conspiracy hate.
Hell yeah bro I'm doing the same exact thing once I get my hands on a 5080 as well. And also upgrading from a 1080 ti as well(which was such an amazing card and treated me nicely since beginning of 2018 lol, legendary card for sure). These cards might be expensive but man their value is in how long they last you since they're so powerful. People don't think about they just think of the upfront cost
Finally someone reviewing this. The Aorus Master ICE is literally the only white 5090, and I have no damn idea how it performs in terms of thermals and noise. This is at least some sort of indicator.
I have a 3060 ti 8gb with a i9-14900k, and my monitors are 1440p, I was gonna try to upgrade to a 7900 xtx but if that’s the same price would it be better to buy the 5080 or stick with the amd card ?
Oc the memory too, it's scales the core better. There is 15-20% when you clock both core and memory, RGT has a good video showing this with the astral.
You can do same with MSI Vanguard at 25% cheaper. The temperatures better, power consumption better and it gives same amount overclocked performance. At this point you have to consider is paying 25% more for a metal and design worth it.
@Psyzenn yeah the whole lot seem to have decent headroom, i have an astral on the way, moving from a 3090 suprim x. I am a stickler for looks and build quality and the astral imo anyway is the best looking card out there, yeah a couple 000 more but I have plenty saved up even for a 5090 but the power draw is way too much and I only game at 4k 144 so 5080 is fine for that.from what i have seen the temp charts are sound normalised, which i don't care about, seen on the oc forums the astral running at 48c with a +500 core.. either way much better than founders.
@ Might as well gotten 4090 mate. The only different at this point is that 5080 has 2x more frame generation and tbh 4090 with 2x frame gen is plenty. I think 4090 is the goat at this point including the price as well. But then again paying 1600-1700 for 4090 is kinda meh at this point since you can drop extra 300-400 for 5090. The 4090 would be worth it if its like 1200-1400.
My 5080 Gigabyte Gaming OC overclocks +400 to just under 3100mhz without even increasing rhe power limit. It's been super fun just messing around with it.
Thank you for the video! Could you elaborate a little more on the power connector? I bought a new Corsair PSU with a 12VHPWR cable. Can I use the one that Corsair has provided? Or should I be using three separate cables hooked up to the PSU?
The 5000 series does not outperform the rxt4090 by a huge margin. Unless this card has got potential in the foreseeable future not sure the price justifies its performance.
Hold on, so I'm not good with tech like that. But are you running that game with the card overclocked, at 99% usage, and still the card temp is below 60C?
Could you try to get the 5090 Aorus Master in for review! I would be more than grateful, I have it on pre-order but it could come at any point between now and 4 months.
I have the same card and my fan blows very loud when playing wukong in 4K. Can you tell me what settings you are running or adjustments you’ve made? I can hear my fan across the room but I don’t have my case cover on
I know you're in the UK but here in the US you can't get the 5000 series. I only see influencers with them. Where did you get yours? I will look into AMD Tired of NVIDIA.
Man, I will be a fan of yours forever JUST because how you peeled that plastic cover without making such a silly big deal about it. That "satisfying peeling" trend is getting super old by now.
Currently have 3070 and itching to upgrade to 5080 but no stocks available and if there is probably it will 30% more above SRP. I probably wait another year for a 5080 super that has a 4090 level performance. With the drama around 5000 series performance Nvidia might cook something early next year.
Keeping extra performance is most likely bz: 1. Room for 5080 super with 24Gb 2. Worse heatsink on FE 3. Pushing people willing a bit more performance to buy 5090 4. Avoiding complains about Power draw over 500W Just my guess, nothing else
I owned a chonky 3 slot EVGA 2080 Super and thought I knew what a beefy GPU looked like. Then I got the Zotac 5080 and that thing is one CHONKY boi. I did not realize it would be so much longer. Also it’s not a 3 slot card. The cooler makes it 3.5 slots making the next PCIE slot unusable
Depends on your budget. If you have a $1000 budget get the 5080.. its slightly faster than the 4080 super (assuming you can find one for $1000). It really depends on how much the price difference between 4080 super and 5080 is. If you have a lower budget $750 get 4070 TI Super. You still get 16 GB of RAM with that one and still good enough for 1440p. If you don't care too much about ray tracing though get the 7900XTX its more frames and better value for worse Ray tracing.
At 1440p, I'd get a discounted 4080. eBay (from buyers with strong feedback) might be a good place to look. As you will be covered by their buyer protections and can probably find a good price. Just be sure to carefully look at all details on each listing, and ask questions.
Don't waste your money on a 5080. The 4080 and 5080 both has 16GB of VRAM. Unless you want AI generated frames, the 50 is the choice, but if you want raw performance the 40 is the choice. Personally I don't see any point getting a 5080, it's only like 10% more performance wise than the 4080 and 16GB is not actually enough for the 4080 depending on how you use it therefore you would get bottlenecked due to lack of VRAM on the 50 card more likely.
Go for a 5080. It would be different if you already had an 40 series card but since you now have 1070, i would personally buy the 5080. Or you can wait to see what the 5070 Ti looks like when those reviews are out later this month
People just skip this Generation other than RTX 5090 other 50 series card are not worth it. You people know what's best for urself right! if u want 4k gaming with 60fps u can go for 40 series with 4060ti or 4070 or 4080 or 4080 super. There was no generational leap as i had expected between 40 series and 50 series only 20% increase in performance and 30% increase power consumption. Lets wait for 60 series until 2027.
I got it easily from finland, sorry for you ppl that didnt, im not influencer and i got 5080 astral, all the negative reviews about the cards were clickbaits btw and im very happy i bought the 5080

Kinda like Nvidia controls the market with these cards, even tho we see the msrp "$999-$1999" their probably selling for a profit pretending to be scalpers. The high demand and limited supply keeps the market blind from what's going on behind the scenes.
I cancelled my order for the 5080 last night. Next year DDR6 RAM will be released (which means everything now will be obsolete soon), and the RTX60 series is already being developed. It's mostly Nvidia's lies, purposeful supply shortage, and price gouging that did it for me. My 4080 Super will do well for now.
Still crazy that a 4090 runs better than a 5080, i was expecting 20-24 gigs of v ram since the 5090 got 32 but maybe they'll drop a 5080 super with more ram so i might hold off for a bit
All these influencers found out NVidia's secret. They were probably planning to release a 5080 Super for $1200 in a few months that is just a factory overclocked 5080! 🤣
If I got a new graphics card, I'd still need the rest of the computer. I'd be happy with a 5070. I think that would last well long enough if you don't demand 4K 120fps.
Not worth the risk overclocking for an extra 5 to 8fps imo i wouldn't notice jack. Prob get more fps when you first boot your pc up when its really cool and play a game compared to playing a game when your pc been on for few hours.
Or buy a custom build from an SI that has the 5080's in stock. That's what I ended up doing...I feel guilty though because I build all my pc's...not let someone else do it for me. Oh well, at least I got to pick my parts. I'll have my 5080 a week from friday.
Wish I didnt have to be a techtuber to get a card. I would not accept one from Nvidia if everyone else couldn't get one. I'm not a marketer's stepping stone and man's gotta have a code. Also, best buy api discord drops can get you a card. Ill be ordering as many as I can get from china and resell at a fair msrp with a proper profit 20-30% not 300%. I did it for the 30 series!
Way to stroke your own ego man. You'll never have the opportunity to get a free card because you're not capable of being a techtuber- so why even talk? And cool, you're still marking up + taking cards from people who could of used them. You're doing what you're claiming this guy is doing - but with actual in stock cards over pre production samples sent to youtubers.
LOL “Don’t go for pre over clocked versions”. Do you realize how difficult it is to even get a FE 5080/90. And in AIBs, often they come OC and 200-500 extra. And to top it all these shameless companies are putting them in “combo” deals trying to get rid of undesirable stock. But I’m loving the fact there’s an easy 7-10 percent bump in performance easily!

What do you have a 1080ti?
I feel bad for you...
I would plasti-dip the shroud
Boom custom mod that looks awesome at a fair price.
I have a 3060 ti 8gb with a i9-14900k, and my monitors are 1440p, I was gonna try to upgrade to a 7900 xtx but if that’s the same price would it be better to buy the 5080 or stick with the amd card ?
I really hope I can get my hands on a RTX 5080 Aorus Master soon. I've been looking regularly since launch day
Oc the memory too, it's scales the core better.
Personal note for OC 5080 when my GPU Arrives:
Set Boost Clocks(Mhz): 3160
Power Limit: Max
How is the coil whine ?
My 5080 Gigabyte Gaming OC overclocks +400 to just under 3100mhz without even increasing rhe power limit. It's been super fun just messing around with it.
Thank you for the video! Could you elaborate a little more on the power connector? I bought a new Corsair PSU with a 12VHPWR cable. Can I use the one that Corsair has provided? Or should I be using three separate cables hooked up to the PSU?
From what I've gathered. 3.0/3.1 are interchangeable - 3.1 just has more safety features.
is the 5080 a good upgrade from the 3090?
I have a 3060 is it better to go for a 40 or 50 series I do high end games and going to start streaming soon
Did it melt?
Managed to get 550 core and 1200 memory on my new RTX 5080 without any voltage changes.. now thats performance.
Is the 5080 worth it if i just want to play cod halo fifa bf etc
The 5000 series does not outperform the rxt4090 by a huge margin. Unless this card has got potential in the foreseeable future not sure the price justifies its performance.
Remember the time we were able to walk into a store and actually find a gbp 🙃
Ita not worth it sure. But the OC cards are higher binned silicon on the 40 series. Not sure about the 50 series
Hold on, so I'm not good with tech like that. But are you running that game with the card overclocked, at 99% usage, and still the card temp is below 60C?
also what is the fan noise when you game like that? Does it sound like a jet engine about to take off or is it dead silent?
I love this gen release as my 4090’s resale value has been growing steadily 😂
Did you say you shouldn’t go for the OC versions?
5000 series limited edition(s) LOL
Jensen is a master salesman!
The FE in the 50-series is short for Fictional Edition
Is that a proper 4080 Super or genuine 5070???
How much power is this pulling?
Could you try to get the 5090 Aorus Master in for review! I would be more than grateful, I have it on pre-order but it could come at any point between now and 4 months.
What about the memory speed? Can't be changed?
I have the same card and my fan blows very loud when playing wukong in 4K. Can you tell me what settings you are running or adjustments you’ve made? I can hear my fan across the room but I don’t have my case cover on
Don't worry I don't think anyone is going to be buying a 5080 anytime soon.
That is simple, just wait for the RX 9070 XT and teach Nshitia a lesson...
That "satisfying peeling" trend is getting super old by now.
what type of ryzen cpu sould i get for a 7800 xt
Currently have 3070 and itching to upgrade to 5080 but no stocks available and if there is probably it will 30% more above SRP. I probably wait another year for a 5080 super that has a 4090 level performance. With the drama around 5000 series performance Nvidia might cook something early next year.
Keeping extra performance is most likely bz:
1. Room for 5080 super with 24Gb
2. Worse heatsink on FE
3. Pushing people willing a bit more performance to buy 5090
4. Avoiding complains about Power draw over 500W
Just my guess, nothing else
ok, stupid question but the frame rate didnt go up, what does a faster clock speed mean in terms of performance?
I owned a chonky 3 slot EVGA 2080 Super and thought I knew what a beefy GPU looked like. Then I got the Zotac 5080 and that thing is one CHONKY boi. I did not realize it would be so much longer. Also it’s not a 3 slot card. The cooler makes it 3.5 slots making the next PCIE slot unusable
Hi, will the cheaper 5080's like the gigabyte windforce, oc like this?
Coming from a 1070 should I get the 4080 or upgrade to a 5 series? Most gaming will be 1440p, and yes it’ll be an entirely new pc
Get a 5080 unless you can find a 4080 for a discount. The 5080 still performs better than the 4080
Depends on your budget.
I saw something about only 5000 cards hitting the USA retailers. Gotta match the fact it's the 5000 series and AMD MARKET SHARE SHOULD BE MUCH HIGHER!
Pardon my ignorance, but do these influencers need to send these cards back after review?
People just skip this Generation other than RTX 5090 other 50 series card are not worth it. You people know what's best for urself right! if u want 4k gaming with 60fps u can go for 40 series with 4060ti or 4070 or 4080 or 4080 super. There was no generational leap as i had expected between 40 series and 50 series only 20% increase in performance and 30% increase power consumption. Lets wait for 60 series until 2027.
I got it easily from finland, sorry for you ppl that didnt, im not influencer and i got 5080 astral, all the negative reviews about the cards were clickbaits btw and im very happy i bought the 5080
What is the extra power consumption when you oc it tho?
Mine, with the stock power limit, +400 core, +1000 memory, consumes 350W.
Can confirm my MSI 5080 Trio OC can also do 3100mhz +400mem 110%PWR stable Firestrike 4K stress test 10 times in a row at 99.2% as the least score… insane
I have that exact same card this is exciting info thank you!
do you realize the +400 mem is costing you performance? for reasons i dont have time to explain, keep the mem at default and max out the core speed as much as possible. you’re welcome fellow gamer(s)

AND: No, 400 on memory be far more beneficial on this silicon and hardware pertaining to overall
card performance then a little extra on boost regarding FPS general numbers etc once going for high frames on 4k etc.
Not sure where "user" is getting info from but "user" may be introducing USER ERROR!!! ⚠⚠🤔🤔
"Watch This BEFORE Buying " but why? It's not even possible buying, "watch this before going to Mars" is about as relevant ....
Kinda like Nvidia controls the market with these cards, even tho we see the msrp "$999-$1999" their probably selling for a profit pretending to be scalpers. The high demand and limited supply keeps the market blind from what's going on behind the scenes.
It looks like everyone got 50 series except the people who want to buy them.
Is paper wet? 🤔
You dont get any stuttering?
Just got my 5090 this week from System Restore UK..
It's a little shop but owner is amazing.
Getting a full 5090 system built right now.
Do I have to buy one if I watched this?
yess, you must.
Definitely
'Watch this before buying a 5080'
*video crashes*
I cancelled my order for the 5080 last night. Next year DDR6 RAM will be released (which means everything now will be obsolete soon), and the RTX60 series is already being developed. It's mostly Nvidia's lies, purposeful supply shortage, and price gouging that did it for me. My 4080 Super will do well for now.
Still crazy that a 4090 runs better than a 5080, i was expecting 20-24 gigs of v ram since the 5090 got 32 but maybe they'll drop a 5080 super with more ram so i might hold off for a bit
Good to know! But I’ll probably be underclocking/undervolting mine as I’m sff constricted 😅
All these influencers found out NVidia's secret. They were probably planning to release a 5080 Super for $1200 in a few months that is just a factory overclocked 5080! 🤣
UA-cam influencers still shilling for Nvidia after shafting its customer base.
Let’s unbox and tease everyone who didn’t get one. Enjoy your free GPU.
Mostly him since he always been an nivdia fanboy
you dont have to watch? lol
You did your gym for the week :0 , thx ASUS
I was looking at this card, but I bought the Asus Astral OC.
And it just works.
I would love to know what the gpu hotspot temp is?
definitely puts my mind at rest as, im sat awaiting stock of the master ice for my brand new 9800x3d build
If I got a new graphics card, I'd still need the rest of the computer. I'd be happy with a 5070. I think that would last well long enough if you don't demand 4K 120fps.
As a first time PC buyer I will stay away from the OC for now lol Im too scared to break anything
so i guess still not worth replacing my 4090 with right?
no..i'd hold onto that 4090 for as long as you can?..unless you can find a 5090 ?..then no.
No if you already have 4090
I can't tell what's more imaginary. My funds for a 5080/5090, or the availability of these cards
Not worth the risk overclocking for an extra 5 to 8fps imo i wouldn't notice jack. Prob get more fps when you first boot your pc up when its really cool and play a game compared to playing a game when your pc been on for few hours.
I'm not interested in overclocking so I will have to wait to get the 5090 after all the influencers and prebuild companies get theirs.
Glad you had fun overclocking the GPU.
I’m trying to upgrade to a 5080 from a ps5 and I don’t see me even finding one by the time I get back to the states. 🤣🤣🤣
Pre orders and price drops now on Scan the last fews day for the 5080. Best just waiting till march though
Why does the title call it the ATX 5080???
Great Vid! Thanks
thats if you can buy one..
Did this system have a 1000W PSU in it? I have a 1000W Corsair PSU and wanna make sure I have enough room to OC my 5080 that I was lucky enough to purchase! (Had to camp outside Micro Center for over 20 hours)
1000w is plenty for ocing a 5080
I will watch this video again in 2030 when the stock normalizes and I can get one
