Sometimes I get sick and make old-school vlogbrothers videos. Today, I voted here in the Indiana primaries. Now I will go back to bed.

Unfortunately, I'm not an original Nerdfighter, but I have made it my mission to watch every vlogbrothers video ever created in order, so I've been watching them for I believe about 2 years now. That being said, it makes me very happy when I see references to old videos, especially Brotherhood 2.0 in their videos, it just makes me happy :)
Did I mention that it makes me happy? Haha, isn't my vocabulary just exemplary? ;)

watching this now, I keep thinking "Why aren't John wearing a mask if he's sick, he'd make the two nerdfighters sick!!!" I kinda hope from now on, it's more common that people would put on mask when they are just sick, so it won't make ppl around them catch a cold as well

Thank you! That's ridiculous, we've been doing mock papers for at least a year now, which is the best way to get used to the exam board and the type of questions they ask and also what they are looking for in the answer. I've only done 6 proper exams ever, 2 sciences modules, and the best way to revise for them was to do lots of past papers!
Is it just me or is it kinda childish that you get a sticker when you vote? I mean, grown-ups don't get stickers

Two months ago I challenged myself to watch every single Vlogbrothers video and I just finished! It took a while because of school and life and midterms and finals etc but YAAAAAY for watching all 961 videos! DFTBA!

I actually got really lucky in that To Kill a Mocking bird is my all time favourite book. I would highly recommend it. Although I would not recommend spending months writing notes on the character's motivations and the key themes explored.
Gargle with salt water! I swear it shortens a cold every time....it drowns the chickens :)
I think the tiny chickens sometimes like to go down to your throat and eat up little bits of flesh so they have the energy to continue on their egg-laying rampage.
Or maybe they just rip up the little pieces of throat and use it to pad their nests in the brain/sinus regions that they are so fond of.
At least that's what they seem to being doing to me at the moment.

Good for you for voting anyway John! I love that Washington is a mail-in state for many reasons, but one is that tiny chickens don't stop us.

This weekend I went on a trip with my choir to a big choir festival. And a girl who was there with another choir was telling her friends that she was suffering from a tiny chicken invasion. We shared a Nerdfighter moment. It was awesome.
oh gosh, for the first time you've actually made me glad that we are not with OCR, our school changed this year and now I'm glad. Each question for our exam is 25% of the GCSE and each question is marked out of 25 so 1 mark is 1% which is pretty scary, then the 2 coursework pieces are 25% together. I'm just imagining my English teacher trying to explain your Lit exam to my class and I can see why we changed, my class would never understand how any of that works...

1:03 is funny because I paused listening to Tuvan throat singing to watch this video and yet I did not get away from it.
Yes, they are. They started a project called "Brotherhoof 2.0" in 2007 and communicated without text for one year. They continued these regular video-blogs after 2007 and by now there is a huge community around all this called "Nerdfightaria" and their viewers/fans are called "Nerdfighters". It´s really awesome and there are some Videos where they explain that kind of stuff, look for "vlogrothers nerdfighters" on youtube. Have fun and DFTBA!
Our teacher has spend so long explaining things and its not even that complicated, yet people still don't understand it which fustrates me because we have literally spent whole lessons going through the simple action of choosing a question. I agree, mine is next monday, which is going to be really fun.

I don't have mine for a couple of weeks yet, good luck for Monday. My teacher's totally incompetent as well as having to deal with a difficult course. All the other classes at my school had access to mock papers weeks ago. She caught a glimpse of my copy of one of my friend's papers and told me off for looking at the questions before she was ready for the class to look at them; saying that we should get them two months before the exam. I tried to point out that the exam was in two weeks but...
I just voted right before I watched this! And it was a pain too, even though I think it's very important for me to vote and all. But the difference is, I did it AT MY KITCHEN TABLE because Oregon has mail-in voting. Though I miss going to the polls on election day, I really like having the ballot and the various research on the table in front of me while I make my choices.
That's so awesome. My representative replied to me, but it was completely clear that nobody had actually read the email, because his reply was talking about why NASA shut down the space shuttle program. Ridiculous. But I'm glad your senators are bringing it up!

As a student in the county wherein Looking for Alaska was banned, I am infuriated. The teachers who had taught Looking for Alaska had managed to persuade several young people, who rarely or never read, to become great fans of John's books, as well as fans of other books to which LFA had opened them. I encourage all of you to send an email to Jeremy Johnson, the spokesman for Sumner County schools who made the official public statements against the book,
John! I just went to a speaking contest at Texas Tech University (the Speak Up! contest... it was a pretty big deal over here), and a Nerdfighter won 2nd place! He kept referencing your video about grammar and why it's important and he closed with a quote from you. I thought it was the coolest thing ever :3
Because I never get enough sleep, I've been classically conditioned (yay pyschology!) to get stressed out every time I hear my alarm. The sound of my alarm is also John's ringtone. The intensity of my full body spasm when I heard it was hilarious. This also happens pretty frequently.

Story time- About mid-January, I kept hearing about TFIOS, and I wanted books to read, so I bought it and read it and flipped because it was so good. So I go "oh, I keep hearing about these nerdfighter people, what are they?" so i found the vlogbrothers and decided to watch every single video in chronological order.
So, a month later, I am here. Thank you.
When you groaned on the phone, for a split second I thought you were going to talk about the outcome of Amendment One in NC. As someone with parents in our state, I thought you might touch on the subject. The outcome has me so mad I'm basically in tears. I think NC Nerdfighters should band together to REPEAL amendment one and all of it's World Suck-ness

Get well soon, John! Don't let the tiny chickens get you down too badly. They mean well I think they try to eat suck, but instead they just end up pecking around because they can't find any and pooping the suck they took from other people.
It's chickens because in the first explanation of "tiny chicken disease", Hank described it as having tiny chickens roost in your head and lay eggs, after which the eggs would break and the yoke would drip out of your nose, because snot looks like egg yoke.
But tiny rhinos would also have been very clever! :)

Strangely enough, I am from Melbourne and will be awake at that time because I have to go to work at 6:30. Other than time zone problems (and distance stuff), I think Australia's pretty amazing.
I literally cried at how funny the start was.
(cont.) The poetry has two questions, a comparison of two poems we've already seen and studied and then analysis of an 'unseen poem'. I could literally have linked to the OCR website for that. Revision has melted my brain. I swear education was supposed to make me smarter or something? Like impart actual intelligence and roundness of character.
Oh, and I have also experienced an invasion of tiny chickens recently. While I was on vacation. So that's fun.
We actually have two lit exams, number one has two parts. Part one on the 'extended text' and we actually have a choice of eight texts but I've only studied To Kill a Mockingbird so I'll probably go with that one. There are two short essay questions on TKAMB one a close analysis of language and the second a more general question on a character or theme. Then there is a single essay question on a play (we did An Inspector Calls (incidentally a fantastic play)). The other exam is poetry (cont.)

Microbes are perhaps more important but I think it fair to note that if you vote, you are an individual person voting for an individual person to represent you and so it does count and is important, even though the person you vote for is going to be bound to some extent by a broader party manifesto.

This comment is awkwardly similar to the top comment, but I too, after finding out about TFiOS, discovered nerdfighteria, and after puzzling over all of the inside jokes, pledged to watch every vlogbrothers video. it took everyone long enough to work out our Lit Exam and that's relatively simple in comparison! Some stuff can be useful, but I still feel like I don't know that much in terms of general life stuff.

it's weird how you don't care about how you're not sick or injured until you ARE... broke my leg on Sunday and all I can think about is how nice the rest of my life has been just because I could get up and walk whenever I wished
Aww, I feel so bad for him. He's all red in the face and congested-soundy and has much less of his usual awesome, flail-y emphaticness. But he has like, thousands of people that are wishing him well, so in a way, that's a lot better than when people usually get invaded by conquest-driven tiny chickens.

'Tiny Chicken Disease' is the nickname Hank and John have given to the common cold. The tiny chickens can poop snot that goes out your nose or down your throat, they can make babies that put pressure on your head, they can make their tiny chicken eggshells scratch your throat... Basically a way to make fun of how being sick is not fun.
