Thanks for another excellent video about Cubasis, which is particularly helpful to me trying to move away from Garageband and dig into a higher level of iOS recording, Cubasis. 👍🏻
damn been debating should I get an Macbook air or a Ipad pro for Voice acting recording, how do you think a IPAD pro would do? what would i need to make that happen with an XLR MIC/audio interface?
Hey Smoogle, an iPad would work perfectly fine for recording audio/vocals. There are mics that hook up directly to the lightning/usb-c port or you can get a full on audio interface like a usb focusrite 2i2 and plug in an xlr mic. You'd just hook up the focurite or any class compliant audio interface to the iPad via usb. To do that you'd need a lightning/usb-c dongle that has a usb-a port. And fyi you really don't even need a pro for simple vocal recording/fx you could just get a 2020 iPad Air for $399.99.
Thanks Kal! You certainly don't need compression on every track, it all depends on your tastes, the genre and how the instrument was recorded. It's usually good though to apply compression on bus tracks though to glue tracks together such as drums and bass.
Been hearing reports of crashes on the latest iOS and I believe there is a patch coming soon to address that. For future reference I always make sure to stay a couple iOS versions behind for stability reasons.
@@MobileMusicPro the newest iOS I just updated 14.1 . I think I’ve figured it out after I record a track I freeze it then delete the track that got frozen then the app crashes on play back . If I don’t delete the frozen app straight a way it seams to not crash
@@clear_gray_sky539 Hmm that could certainly be apart of the issue, I have no fix at this time, you'll likely need to post in the cubasis forums here www.steinberg.net/forums/viewforum.php?f=300 And for future reference I strongly recommend always staying at least 1 iOS version behind.
@@MobileMusicPro problem solved . I had the latency in audio setting in cubasis 3 turned to the lowest setting and it was causing the crashes . At some point the app wouldn’t even launch I had to go to iPad settings > cubaisis 3 and turn on launch new project next time . Then the app opened and I set the latency to 5.8ms and the app works great again !

This is something very important in any music production. I’m very happy that you made a tutorial specifically on this.
Thanks Shiv!
This is something I needed the most.
Nice Alex! We got more coming! Next up the channel strip!

Excellent video. One of the clearest explanations of compression I have heard!. Thank you.
Thank you so much Colin! :)
Yes! This is the video I need!! Thank you, vortex.
Currently all I’ve been doing is slapping roughrider 3 on my kick drum and calling it a day...
You're very welcome Omar, much more to come! :)
I like your channel very much and the way you express your ideas. I find your speech didactic. Thanks a lot!
Thanks so much! Had to look up that word hehe :)

Me too. I get the principle but don’t understand how to set it up and when to apply it. 🥺
@@hafstrat So glad this can help you guys! We've got a video on a couple other plugins coming out as well including the limiter and channel strip.

Thanks for the video
No problem :) Much more to come!
Another excellent video . So would you put compression on all of your instrument tracks ? When wouldn’t you use the compressor ?

Hello brother. I follow your every lecture for cubasis 3. Can u make video on vocal processing (only vocal) how to apply the all effects..
We certainly have a video planned for that! :)
Nice!
I'm really having problems with cubasis 3 crashing constantly..... Is there any way to stop that from happening I use a 10.5 iPad pro latest updates

❤ super 💯😊❤
Why we dont use compressor in send effects?
Send effects are more for things like reverb/delay, we have a video on this here: ua-cam.com/video/IyChgetcaCQ/v-deo.html
@@MobileMusicPro thank you 👍
