Use plastic painting sheets to cover the window and door openings with heavier thickness “mils” to prevent rain from destroying the sub floors. Great job so far Spencer!
I was wondering why they didn't dry in before laying the floor.... yes to covering with plastic quick like.
as a flooring installer i hate everything about OSB. when it gets wet it is like a sponge and soaks water into every little woodchip in the board. it takes forever to dry when you have an airspace below it and it always swells all across the board losing its ability to hold nails, and at the joints it swells even more causing a real uneven floor surface. with this floor being in direct contact with the foamboard, it will take forever for it to dry, and mold will become an issue sooner than you think. if it rains inside here and doesn't rain again for a month, you will be able to pull up the flooring and still find water in those foam layers because the epoxy coat underneath it all. i would be duct tapping plastic on the windows with some wood reinforcements to keep the wind from blowing it apart, plus buying a large tarp to cover the entire container.
@@joedoe6444exactly what I was thinking!
I was thinking the same thing.
@@ec6443 Anyone who has built anything has the same mindset. Great minds think alike!
I do hope you install windows and doors before progressing too far with the floor, you don’t want to trap water in any of the layers you plan on installing.
The bloopers at the end always make me smile. Thanks for including them. You guys have such a great relationship and senses of humour.
Heather🇨🇦
I completely agree, they are very polite and kind like you😍😍😍😍😍
Don't forget to cover the window and door openings. God forbid you get a good hard spring driving rain and the OSB gets wet and water seeps under it and under the foam insulation boards.
You guys are so cute together and i love your bantering. I especially enjoy the love you show for one another.
The best family on UA-cam! I’m always excited for your weekly videos. Another great video as always. Thank you & have a great week! 😊
Hello 👋 how are you doing today?
Oh my, the kids have really growing and very cute. God Bless you’ll.
We’ve been watching since the very first episode, and it’s so crazy to see how big BOTH kids are now! We love you guys! ❤ your family is so cute.
Same, I was thinking that this episode too.
Yes, I watched since day one. The ups and downs, before those beautiful babies were born.
Who else loves these guys!?!?
Just you
Love Jesus as well
We all do.
I do and just hate it when the video has finished, it’s not on long enough, could watch them all night .
I do
The cabin is really coming along! I love the color as well. Can't wait to see the continued progress.
I have been here from the beginning, and you are still my favorite channel. I applaud you and love your babies, all four of them..❤️
I have a question why have y'all not enclosed it yet with windows to prevent damage to the interior from the weather? we're fixing to get into heavy storm season (hopefully lots of rain)
You two are in my top 10 since you started seeing Bear bears muzzle getting whiter, the children you are so blessed having them Ken your daughter is a perfect copy the by, well sooo much like dad. Your present build, can see all ready will be fantastic with the know how you have earned, swollen thumbs, cuts, and contusions. Keep em coming, and God bless,
Next time, if there's a next time, you apply epoxy, use a torch to get rid of the bubbles. Heat releases all bubbles from the epoxy. Giving you a clear, somewhat leveled, transparent surface.
What this guy said.
dosent really matter since the epoxy is not the finished floor, but if you ever decide to remove the floring and new subfloor you have a good base to do a colored flood coat on top of the epoxy you already did and then use the spikes you attach to your shoes to walk on flooded floor and tourch any bubbles out .
Can only do that before it sets up...and how would they access those areas during the curing? Right idea...wrong impression.
@@davidbryant3532 Like professional epoxy floor pours, studded "sandals" that attaches to your shoes/boots and walk backwards to the exit. Simple and easy! 😉
But... It's going under insulation, why would you spend that time 😅
There is a tool called a handmasker, it applies tape and paper at the same time which allows for just an outline of tape with paper masking off the majority of the area. Less tape to peel, also remove tape as soon as possible and use blue tape or tape with less adhesive. Just a tip, you guys make this hobby fun!! Keep it up
Cabin taking shape. Looks great. Hope it doesn't rain. Children have grown up right before our eyes. Have a great week.
Love the kiddos, they are such verbal, curious kiddos now.
The cabin is really progressing!! You haven’t lost your sense of humor!! Loved spending time watching you all.
Loving it. You guys complement each other so well. Your chemistry is uplifting. Thank you for another awesome video.
Making progress, have a good week and God bless amen
Lol! Love watching you two banter back and forth. Sitting here with a big smile on my face watching. You two do amzing work. Your two kiddos are growing so fast. Look forward to watching your videos !
Wonderful job you both are doing.
Always wonderful to see the children and the smiles.
Loving your story and the fact you share. Thank you. 🌸
When I was in the USN in the 90's we had epoxy floors in the "common spaces". We didn't put it down the engineering spaces. We called it PRC. A base layer and then a top color layer we would toss sparkle flakes down for contrast. This stuff was super tough.
The bubbles aren't from inadequate mixing. It's the wood off-gassing when it comes in contact with the epoxy. That's normal. Any time you're doing more than a thin coat, make sure you put a thin seal coat of epoxy (brush on or use a cheap squeegee that you can throw away) to seal the wood so that the gasses can't escape. Then as others have mentioned, use a torch to get rid of any bubbles as it cures. Once the seal coat is set but before it completely cures (the correct time window will be in the epoxy instructions), you can put on your flood coat. The torch will require a little practice, as you can create waves in the surface if it's too close or not passing over the surface quickly enough and it will set that way without self-leveling. As others have also mentioned, the bubbles are harmless in a surface that's getting covered only anyway, so I wouldn't sweat it, but in case you ever attempt something that you want to look nice, that should help.
Spike roller.
Where did you buy the epoxy? How much money?$
@@toucansteve 👋
partially correct...most air in epoxy mixtures, mixed by a power tool, is spun into the mixture from the mixing process. Yes, you DO get some gassing off on some materials, but most comes from the mixing.
@@13daniel1974 Good point. I forgot about the power tools. I mixed mine by hand being as careful as possible not to introduce air, so the majority of the bubbles in my project were from off-gassing. I would imagine in this situation that the majority would be from the mixing.
Always love to watch your channel, you have a lovely family.
I just don't get tired of watching & enjoying the work you both do ❤
I agree Stevie, I just wish their videos were at least 30 minutes long.
With paint and masking tape, the tape should be removed as soon as possible to keep it from becoming too sticky. Esp if the tape is exposed to direct sunlight. Having a safety razor to cut the edges will keep the surrounding paint from peeling off with the tape so there is less touch up. Project is looking great
Tape is for lines, so pull tape as paint is starting to flash, will look better in long run. Tapes to brittle now cause of sun light. Will work next time you need it. Probably past the tape now
Also, it looks like they used regular making tape, which is difficult to remove. Green or blue painter's tape might have worked better.
The two of you are the definition of inspiration when it comes to DIY. I hope the children will take this spirit as they age.
I must be missing something, but why put down insulation and wood when the windows and doors are wide open to allow rain to destroy them? If you are waiting for the windows then surely once the epoxy was down the gaps could be covered with plastic sheeting to keep it all dry? Or not maybe.
I was wondering the same thing too.
Crossed my mind too, I thought I missed something.... Hopefully windows coming very soon.
Because they have to have the floors in so they can frame the walls/rooms. Then they can make the frames for the windows so they can be attached..
If it rains water will be trapped under all the flooring ruin it all.
Can’t believe how big your kids are. Been watching you guys for so long now!!!
I'm glad Spencer upgraded to some nice new red sneakers.
I know! I love those sneakers!
I've been contracting for almost a year making these from regular and refrigerated containers. Mainly the welding and fabrication. It's been interesting to learn.
Cool channel!
It’s looking better and better, each time we see it. ❤❤❤❤❤
Have to say, I very much enjoy catching your videos and wish you a ton of happiness along the process.
I love to see the build but most of all, I love the banter between the two of you and your kid’s’ personalities bloom!
The fact that I had the biggest smile when floor insulation was mentioned 😂. So excited!
Your children are so adorable. ❤
Spencer is becoming a jack of all trades. Looking great guys we are very excited to see this project come to life.
Jack of all, master of none. Lol
The cabin is really coming along! I’m sooo excited, I never miss an episode, you guys are awesome! Greetings from Netherland. Stay safe and healthy.
Staggering your joints, will mean you won’t get too stoned too fast! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 love you guys. ❤️❤️
Your channel rocks. I really like the way you explain everything as your going along.
Have y'all seen the rigid insulation foam kits for the container walls? It fits within the corrugation.
I can’t imagine you’d need spray foam underneath that container with all you’re using inside. Most of your heat is going to try and get out of the roof…that’s where you should spend the money to slow it down. It’s always fun to see what you guys get up to….can’t believe how fast those kids are growing….you’re feeding them too much!
You guys are an inspiration and credit to humanity 🙏
The knowledge that has been gained by both of you is amazing. The not being sure of your process to taking what you have learned and apply it to future projects. Thank you for showing a part of your work with both in and out of the house. Love your videos.
Making progress. The cabin is looking rustic.
M-Action you guys always get your filming spot on. Honestly all the angles, you guys are on another level. Thank you for the quality content
The kids are just terminally cute❤️

Love the music choices this week. Plus of course love following your journey. Make me "feel good".
I just love how chill Spencer is about doing all of these major projects 😂 ‘Yeah…. gonna like build a massive solar array, rebuild the car… nother house.. no biggie’
As I watch each episode I feel like you must have super human ambitions and fortitude. Your plans always form by your dedication and work ethics and always turn out so incredibly professional. You all are the perfect today style pioneers and love all that you created and your very fortunate children with the abilities you prove as role models to your adorable children. Fantastic family.
You are so blessed to have such a handyman husband!🥰
Looking good, the children are growing up so fast, cutest 👨🦱👧❣️
LOOKING GOOD GUYS. SPENCER, YOU ARE OFFICIALLY A CONTAINER HOME BUILDER. YEAH !!!! YOU ARE IN THE PROCESS OF BUILDING A SECOND HOME. YEAH!!! THIS IS YOUR NEW TITLE. I AGREE WITH STEPHEN ABOUT COVERING THE WINDOWS AND DOORS WITH HEAVY PLASTIC. I WOULD HATE FOR HEAVY RAIN TO COME DOWN AND MESS UP ANYTHING. LOVE Y'ALL
Spencer while mixing the epoxy…😂
“Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and caldron bubble.”
😂😂😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
It’s great to see the progress/knowledge you have gained from the beginning of your house build! Love watching your videos
Wow! It’s all coming along 😊 I’m sooo excited, I never miss an episode, you guys are awesome!
"YAY, an Uncontained video!" I like watching these every monday before work!
Keep it up kids! So proud of you!
Great job and video from all of the family ,it's coming right along if you ask me. Cam is a very big talker to put it nicely, keep up the great work. 🐕🐕❤❤❤❤.
So crazy how time flies, I’ve watched since day one and yu guys have grown so much❤️ the babies are absolutely adorable and so smart. I love your sense of humor Kenzie, you can laugh at your self even when nobody else is laughing😂. Anyways love the progress and excited to see the outcome, you guys are doing awesome! Will it be not only for company and family but AirBnB maybe? Wish the vids were a little longer, only bc I enjoy them so much💕 can’t wait to see next vid!!
I'm floored at how good of a job you did.
See that wasn't so hard. Have a good week and God bless you amen
I work with epoxy all the time and if you torch it or lightly spray 91% alcohol on it, it will help with the bubbles. It's looking amazing and sorry there were so many things that happened along the way.
Looking Good Guys, You Are A Big Help For Someone Who Wants To Build One Of These Or Lay Floors, Have A Beautiful New Week!
“You’re pretty”....AWWWWW that was so sweet and sincere :)
Spencer, in my Taxidermy shop I use the 2 part epoxy on the bases for the mounts. Even when you mix it by hand, it gets bubbles. I take a hand torch that brings the bubbles to the top, and they bop ,trial-and-error
Thanks Dennis
GUYS I LOVE LOVE YOUR VIDEOS THERE SO AWESOME YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING ! LOVE WHAT YOU HAVE DONE WITH THE CONTAINERS !! GOOD JOB GUYS ! BE BLESSED 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏
Your guest house is coming along nice. Looking good !! 👍👍❤️❤️🇨🇦
Love watching you guys! Great work!💓
I enjoy this family nothing but love and happiness 😊
It’s looking good personally I would put all the windows in with plastic over them with the install so they’re protected against paint, etc. that way when it rains it won’t soak the floor, etc. etc.
The messages give the cabin a classic vibe. Your children are growing so fast!!! 🤗❤️❤️❤️🎶🎶🎶🇨🇦
Oh my gosh the kiddos 😭😭so big!! Adorable family. I love your content and videos! So inspiring. 💛💛
No way are those sweet babies that big already! Sooo cute! Still loving your other babies (doggies) as well. Such a beautiful family.
I have watched you two from the beginning. You are just a joy. The little ones are growing so much. Absolutely a beautiful family. There is only one thing that bothers me, that nose ring. You are just too pretty, funny, great laugh, sweet disposition , so why the need. Will continue to watch and stay hopeful you pitch the ring.
Your so so so lucky wifey that Spencer's a handyman and knows how to build and fix things! Your just as handy as well because you help him! God bless you both, I haven't watched you guys in a while and I'm shocked at how beautiful your home is, your children are so cute getting big
lookin great yall 🙂
have a good week can't wait for the next episode 💖
Always impressed, you guys are so amazing! Those sweet babies are just adorable and getting so big. Can't wait for next episode, stay safe!
I have watched your videos for years as I recovered from my stroke. They are a bright point of my day:-)
Y'ALL are moving right along 🤷♀️🤗❤️💯
You both look great happy together and enjoy your children
I love your sense of humor, it is hard work, but you are always positive. You are puting the floor, but no windows. What if it rains?
Really happy to see you today, as I thought you might have been swept away by the recent tornado! Was it anywhere near you? Stay safe!
What a nice surprise on this boring Sunday! Thank you
Hello 👋 how are you doing today?
I JUST ADORE YOUR FAMILY
AND YOUR WIFE SO FUNNY
THANKS FOR SHARING !

Get so excited when I see a notification that y’all posted 😩🥳🥳🇹🇹
Can't wait to see how it is going to look. The floor already looks amazing now with insolation and sub flooring
Use a squigy to put the apoxy on. My partner and his brother have had a concrete flooring company for over 20 years. I've watched them do it, and they use a squigy to smooth it out. They do excellent work, they do factories, etc. They have over 15 franchises now.
Ich finde es gut, dass Ihr das neue "Bürohaus" mit genauso viel Sorgfalt und Genauigkeit aufbaut wie das Wohnhaus.
Spencer, you should wear eye protection when mixing the epoxy. An eyefull of that would be a disaster. Looking great and your kids are precious to watch. Hope you cover the openings to keep rain out. Thanks for sharing.
As a Honda technician, I can appreciate the brief automotive content in this video. Honda compliance bushings for the win!!🤘
Big progress today!
I watch a lot of the woodworkers that use epoxy in their different furniture they make. They usually go over it with with a torch and that seems to get rid of it the bubbling.
I am so proud of you kids. I feel like you are my own grandchildren. Love you all. Give my adopted great-grandchildren hugs for me and hug each other form. your adopted 80 yr old grandmother from Florida. Wish I could meet you all in person. Since I have no family left, you have become my adopted family for the last 5 years. Thank you it has been like letters from my own grandchildren every time you put out a video. Bless you, both.
It looking good nice to see you to building again. Blessings
Hello 👋 how are you doing today?
The color kaki green on the container reminds me of a army ammo box. Does anyone else see it? I love the color it’s actually my favorite lol! Keep up the good work guys you rock!
Before to long you will have completed another project right before our eyes. Love watching the progress of ALL your hard work.
BEAUTIFUL , SO ENJOY WATCHING THE FAMILY ALL YOUR DOING
Yes, put in a lot of air with the drill…lol…you can get them out with a torch. But like you said y’all are covering it so. Great job!
If you were going to put the foam board down, you should have laid some 2x4s down and run radiant heating in the floor. It would be super easy with your setup.
I have been with you all from the very beginning. You both are awesome and your children are adorable. Look forward to your videos every week.
