CREATOR'S NOTE: Have to address the tainted rainwater comment as I'm getting heaps of comments refuting that - I think the reason it seemed less plausible to me is because I have lived the majority of my life in small town tropical Australia where rainwater collection is reasonably common and it would be nowhere near as polluted as it is in many other far more densely populated countries and urban areas around the world. So my take on that is obviously very biased. For a place like Kentucky it would make sense for the rainwater to be more tainted than what I'm used to. I am big idiot. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go pour myself a nice big glass of unfiltered rainwater.
As a Kentuckian, the real issue with how tainted water works is that half the taps in the game don't inexplicably give you arsenic poisoning from all the coal runoff in the groundwater. I say that as a joke but its a serious issue in rural KY and i've gotten sick from it before lmfao
@@kiiwikiori7542 Really? That’s insane, man! As a Swede that’s really weird hearing, where I live we have as clean water as it comes. And drinking rainwater is not that weird here at all, though few people would actually do it since we have taps, but If push came to shove I wouldn’t hesitate.

"a zombie's only strength is in numbers" tell that to the 24 zombies i killed right after spawning with my bare hands in -40 degree winter. the real weakness of humanity is stupidity, i wanted to get out of my spawn building so after taking out the zombies i leaped out of a window and fell 5 stories to my instant death
that sentiment applies to my last death. after slaughtering hundreds of zeds and dismantling road blocks to clear a path, I managed to get a car working and finally escape the hell city I was trapped in. at least until I decided to turn back around and get one last gas canister (I already had several in the trunk and a full tank). I then died to 2 sprinters while filling the canister because I couldn't drop the damn thing. me got greedy.
This comment reminds me of a run i had in cdda. I went up an apartment tower for planks because i didn't have an axe at the time, made it to the top when looking for a solar panel, only to get yeeted off by a fucking bone hulk. Fourteen story drop and the game asks if i want to see the last moments... I legit scoffed and said, 'only if it's from two perspectives' since my character should have been all over the place, and their eyes should be about a couple yards apart, assuming they're still functional, and not completely roadside spin-art.
Project zomboid experience is basically "unless changed in the settings" You can be a superhuman survivor who gains xp quick, rarely needs to drink eat or sleep, loses exhaustion fast and is immune to disease
İ've been playing this game since its Alpha. Seeing how many youtubers I know actually suggest it after 10 years (Not 7, 7 is only in Steam) of being a unknown game just brings me so much joy.
started playing it in 2018-2019 (not sure) so im excited to try out B41 multiplayer. joined on this server i always play on. died so many times. im like "wtf just happened?" took a day or two to get used to the combat.
Honestly. One of my biggest and spookiest adventure was me getting set up in the day then at night I bunkered down at this cabin and watched tv. I repeated this cycle day in and day out eventually finding a small radio and some headphones so I was able to listen to the news every day….. I listened as the rest of the world descended into chaos with the zombie infection spreading out and taking a world, never had I felt so much dread listening as folks would call into a radio station and speak as zombies were trying to bust down their door or were devouring some poor helpless person. With one of these individuals even just saying to “bomb us already, we are dead but we don’t even know it yet”. I know i don’t know if I was the only one but that shit hit me hard man.
I was totally blindsided by the writing, and lore elements from the TV/ Radio. The general trying to rally the last few survivors to keep fighting with patriotism, The music radio host implying his son died and dedicating the song Danny Boy to him, The talk show radio host's getting interview from the exclusion zone that the mainstream media hosts call fake news the next day. One by one they go off the air for good until you are left completely alone. Nothing quite like that in any other game I've ever played.
its something i didnt touch on in the video but the TV and radio broadcasting is really atmospheric, i also found myself just sitting there watching the news in game to watch as the world reacted and then also slowly turned to shit. underrated part of the game tbh
Ive never really used the radio or TV in my 40 hours of Zomboid since it felt a little cheap but this sounds cool ill check it out in my next playthrough.
15:40 Rain water can be tainted because dust in the air. If there is enough dust in the air, rain water would take those dust to the water container. Those dust could also have bacteria in them. Also, If your water container is open, some pollutant could also get inside it. So please, don't drink untreated rain water IRL.
you make a fair bunch of points then, maybe it is right for collected rain water to be tainted. ain't gonna stop me from openin me mouf to have a lil schlurp when its rainin IRL tho 😋
@@boogsavvy Bacteria can't float up into the clouds with the evaporated water so it's perfectly safe still. I'd like to see a water purifier object in the game that would turn rain water into proper safe drinking water.
Project Zomboid belongs in the upper echelons of "Labor of Love" games alongside Rimworld, Dwarf Fortress, and No Man's Sky. For a game to be released almost a decade ago and still receive updates is impressive. Where most developers would move on, Zomboid powers through, and the quality shows that. I absolutely suck at PZ myself but this is one roguelike I don't hate. The things you learn from every life are invaluable and applicable, and the game never truly feels unfair. If you die, it's because YOU made a mistake, whether it was leaving your headlights on, or not closing the curtains in your starting house (personal experience). The recent multiplayer update brings community to PZ where you can work together to bring a sense of peace to the world again, however small. PZ is a special game, in a genre saturated with cookie cutter bullshit. Willing to think big picture and make you earn your living. Surviving a zombie apocalypse would not be easy, as portrayed by my 15 character deaths in 10 hours playing. Very good game, inspiring, yet soul crushing. No Woopers, 0/10
imagine developing such a great game that truly stands out amongst the others in its genre just to ruin it by not putting woopers in the game. sad, really
There is one way to solve the reading issue in multiplayer, you can change the amount of minutes it takes you to read a page in a book ingame when setting up a server.
@@whiskizyo2067 Though that could ruin some immersion. Like having something else keeps disturbing your sleep/read is kinda important in this game. The books still give you partial multiplier even if you don't finish it, so in multiplayer, you can just put the book down and do something else? And then resume during car ride or free time.
this game is extremally good, and doesn't reward being over-confident. I had a character going pretty decently well survived for 2 weeks and died because i had thought it was a great idea to sleep in a bed in an upstairs building thinking I would be safe, awoken to a horde banging on the door and it was the end.
@@kazumahitoyoshi1401 Just clear out your surrounding before marking it as "safe zone". And remember to turn off all light/TV/radio unless needed. Then close all curtains/doors too, you shouldn't have ANY zombie trying to break into your house after that. Basically, make your zone look as "dead" as possible.
@@king_koby9591Take a piece of clothing, rip it into ripped sheets, then craft those into what is called a sheet rope, then take a hammer, nails, and the sheet rope to an opened window. Right click on the window and select the option for installing the sheet rope. Boom done.
14:46 You don't want to be sad from beans - you don't eat them cold. And ideally you want to put them into a bowl and then cook it, and the sad modifier is gone. Same for rats and mice. Skin them and cook the meat and you would not really mind what kind of meat it is. Especially once it is in a stew.
Project Zomboid was the first zombie game I've ever found that properly fulfills a very specific niche I wanted from the genre. For years, all I wanted was a proper zombie survival simulation game where you have to craft things and build a base and feed people and all that. And NO ONE was making them. The closest I got before PZ was State of Decay, and only the first one. The second decided to go in the same boring direction that every other zombie game was doing. So I was thrilled when I found PZ. It was the first zombie game that was exactly what I wanted it to be.
One of the things I love about zomboid is the small stories of other survivors that’ll be told, like a man and woman in a bedroom with no clothes, or a corpse surrounded by alcohol bottles or holding a bleach bottle, it really makes the world feel alive, as ironic as that sounds
Another thing I honestly love about this game is the amazing community support and the mods that have come through. One of the coolest mods imo is the "The Only Cure" mod which actually allows your character to survive after getting bitten in the limbs by amputating the bitten limb.
@@hammertoe00 It takes a bit of computer savy with some games, others just take a specific mod organizer, or a certain plug-in for a mod organizer. Just read descriptions carefully an fully, never skimp on the reading. Sometimes double check by searching youtube for a tutorial for more complicated mod installations. As long as you have a good grasp of windows, and you read descriptions, you'll be fine.
Honestly, I prefer to use the "Antibodies" mod or turn off infection mortality, that makes it so the illness can still kick your ass and even kill you if you don't manage your moodles
A note on rain water: It's a common myth that freshly caught rainwater is healthy to drink without boiling. This is often *not* the case. It really depends on the region that you're in. If the water in your region is particularly filthy or acidic, it very well may transfer over to the rain, at least to some degree. There's also the issue of debris falling into the barrel as well, which would also bring in bacteria. It's always safer to just boil it, no matter what. Rain water is, technically, safer to drink unboiled than something from a stream, but it's better not to risk it.
Those three game really have kinda the same spirit. They are all sandbox games where you have to set your own goals, they are completely about the experience, they often end with all of your characters dying and they have great modding communities.
something i never really considered while watching the walking dead or playing zombie survival games is how painful it must be to be devoured by a horde, I just never thought of it like that.
One thing i really like is how many options there are for sound and graphics: i HATE the panic heart pumping sound, so being able to make it 10% as loud is really good: means i dont just have to ”reduce sound volume”, i can reduce a specific sound!
i remember asking my friend for a co op of this game, only to hear "it's looks like game from 80's". really show how much graphic whoring affect the real meaning of 'game' nowadays.
Have to say it's the reason i waited a long time before giving this game a go. The graphics are shit. But it makes up for it in game play. And even with the shit graphics it can still give you jump scares. I'm happy i gave this game a chance. Just bought it a week ago and i really love it.
I got PZ back in 2016 back when it was still 100% 2D, no cars, had awful multiplayer, and every weapon was visually a bat or an axe in your hand, even if you were holding a crowbar. Even at that time, it was still an incredible survival game. Now, it’s on a whole new level of crazy good. And can literally only get better. Hooo mama.
The visuals of this game kinda give me a hard kick in the nostalgia. Getting serious The Sims: Deluxe vibes from it, which my sister and i played a ton of when we were younger. I still remember the music.
likely because PZ team were actually former The Sims modders. a LOT of the things PZ has mechanics wise would fit a Sims isometric game without much issue
Idk if its intentional but it really gives a picqancy to the zombie invasion. Like you are just a frumpy sims dude in a casual sims world, and now you are thrust into a survival situation.
I've heard of this game for years, but with my aversion to zombie games always went for other games for survival. Recently I've thought of getting it but being lazy I was waiting for someone to mention if you can turn off zombie respawn. Knowing that you can, I will now buy it cause I like the idea of slowly clearing the map.
You can turn on sleeping in multiplayer, both as an option and as a need (so you get drowsy and tired). To make the risk of losing your teammates' stuff greater you can also make infection instant or faster in the multiplayer settings, which means that you turn as soon as your are bitten or slightly faster. Shit can really hit the fan if your mate suddenly turns on you in the middle of combat. This does however remove the fear of your bandaged scratch being infected the virus. Great video though!
Adding to the risk of losing stuff, you can whitelist all of item to decay. So if they ain't close to each other, they can't leave stuff on the ground. Then the friend zombie could wander off somewhere else with the stuffs.
14:38 this is one of the problem that does not make sense for me too. It's like how the hell your character get bored when they're literally being chased by zombies? Feeling a little bit hot or cold? who cares, there are zombies behind you. A little bit scratch on your leg and you automatically limp until it kinda healed, dude, there are zombies behind you. Run, who cares about a little bit scratch on the leg.
What is worse than getting killed by a zombie? The zombie that killed you the second time is the first character you created. It happened to me...twice I LOVE THIS GAME!!
Man, reminds me of a time when Desura existed and this was basically just a sad story about a man and his injured wife. Curiously I think the game came out earlier but it was Desura only since it had yet to go through Greenlight.
@@morzanstormbringer7722 Which part? This game came out on an old indie game digital store like Steam called Desura. Back then, must have been like ten years ago, the game was very different and had a tutorial opening that featured a couple. You played as the husband, Baldspot, and had to defend your bedridden wife Kate from an angry gun toting biker before making the decision to smother her with a pillow and spare her a gruesome zombie related death. At least that's how I remember, pretty sure that's how it went down but it was years ago.
Ah i love the Darkest Dungeon reference regarding overconfidence. Lovely quote, convinced me to like (although Rimworld music already sorta made me like it already)
Talking about the sad moodles and NPCS affecting it, it reminded me of that time i played with my friends using a mod that allows you to ki** yourself, and funny enough i just ran directly into my friends face and shot myself giving them severe depression for the sighting lol So it could totally be implemented in the vanilla game sometime.
@@DurkDiggler Chill bro, everyone seemed to use it, so maybe UA-cam is striking channels who use this type of vocabulary? i dunno, it's not that big of a problem either.

This was a well done video and has definitely earned a like from me. It's really awesome to see more people finally getting into this game and giving it the attention it's deserved for a long time. However I do have to comment about the "I don't get why rain water is tainted if it hasn't touched the ground." As I can't speak for any other countries, but here in America (at least in most parts) rain water is absolutely NOT safe to drink. There's way too much air pollution from factories, farms, and vehicles for our clouds to produce clean drinking water and this would be especially true for the state of Kentucky where Project Zomboid takes place .
Personally while I understand the idea of it killing late game challenge, I always like to turn down/off zombie respawning since so much about the game feels realistic. Then you have the zombie respawn mechanic making it so you can't clear an area. I prefer the meta events moving zombies in big clusters or random zombie migration over the surprise we spawned 20 zombies. I also enjoy the progression of looting an area then being forced to go to area to continue getting loot and being met with the challenge of securing an base to start looting that area dry. I also just like the idea that I could eventually just beat the apocalypse and kill all the zombies despite it being calculated to being around 52k on a population setting of 1. So realistically I never will.
I like turning off respawn so I have something to work towards. Killing zombies loses a lot of its meaning when you know they're just gonna respawn. I like knowing that I'm actually making a difference.
I turn thirst, hunger, and fatigue increase to "very low". I found it ridiculous that I was dying of starvation and dehydration 10 minutes into the game. I also turned the day lenth to 2 hours, so it balances itself out.
To be fair to the team behind Zomboid, I know their office got robbed early on and the computer with the code was taken. So they had to rebuild from an earlier build. Which is why it feels like it took so long.
@@GlizzyGoblin757 Shit happens, people forget stuff, life moves on. They learned and worked to get it back to where it is now.. But it's not their fault they were robbed.
@@GlizzyGoblin757 You know the meaning of the word "Indie"? Literally a group of independent game maker. In regards to the multiplayer comments about sleep and tiredness those two things can actually be turned on by the host and for any players with at least a bit of knowledge on the game playing in a small group personally I'd HIGHLY recommend it. It gives a lot more purpose to sleeping tablets when one person is tired but another isn't!
I honestly like Cataclysm a lot more than Zomboid, though Zomboid definitely *is* a very close second. Zomboid actually has a scenario directly based on Cataclysm's "Really Bad Day" scenario.
I've played this game as well as following it ever since zomboid's pre alpha. I'm so so so so so glad that this game has finally been getting the attention it DESERVES
I remember trying to advertise it to various UA-camrs who played some of the zombie games back then, but no one would ever give it any attention, or just ridicule it for its graphics.
I’ve had this game for over 5 years. When I bought it I had to go to a strange website to get the download. It looked like crap, was impossible. It’s changed so much. They gave me a steam key which reminded me I had it. I’ve been waiting such a long time to play this properly. Really enjoying it now. Edit: if it launched on steam in 2013, I had it before that. Blimey, I have waited a while. Star citizen waiting level.
I just wanted to let you know that the person who started the server can choose the option to make sleep optional (but no tiredness Moodle), or you can make it required. I enjoyed the video, and think this was good coverage for the game. The inability to fast forward can hurt at times, but it is probably the only time fast reader is worthwhile, and the only time slow reader reeaaaaaly matters. Time does fast forward if all players are sleeping when you turn the setting on.
Idk if anyone has mentioned this but the whole unsafe rain water comes from the fact that still standing water will always become toxic to drink eventually without sanitizing it. Great vid though. U gotta new sub
13:54 thats not how addiction works. to avoid a long, drawn out definition, know that addiction does not go away. ever. it can only be maintained, and in crisis situations like this, that would be extremely difficult
I've tried playing solo but after playing with 2 mates I just can't manage. This game is just so much more fun with other people, especially smaller groups of 4 or less.
@@aSmallGreenDot Stagnant water is a thing. Leaving rainwater in a barrel in middle of a jungle full of insects would definitely help to purify the water.
I definitely had some bad early access experiences in my life (like the shown Cube World…), but PZ is hands down one of the best 5 bucks that I've spent 10 years ago.
Same. Paid I think $10 about 7 years ago. Didn't play for a long while, but got back into it when lock down started. It's really the only game I play now. I am probably down to a penny an hour played.
I’m so glad that the modding community is so great I mean I love vanilla but there are just so many great mods that can make it just a little bit harder
Yep, you can even get better customization on how much sleep is needed in mp with a few different workshop mods. I like "All My Homies Hate Sleep" because you still deal with tiredness, and it still requires you to find and use a bed, tent, cot, bench, or whatever you can find to sleep on/in, but only for 10 mins in-game, so as not requiring you to sleep in real time.
17:00 The host can turn on tiredness on multiplayer, and when every player is sleeping the time fast-forward, they could do this for other actions, but I think that you are "immortal" for the Zombies when you are sleeping, but not when you are reading, or fishing for exempla, but the fast-forward "mechanic" exist on multiplayer.
This game is super immersive even if you don’t play it for the first time. Everything you do seems super local and realistic, like plastering your walls with concrete, searching around for some car parts through an old junkyard, foraging for some sturdy twigs to make a notched plank and holding off the cold from a rainy day
Honestly, I like PZ, but it does this indie company shit that I really hate. Kind of like Valheim, Phasmo etc. wherein the game's booming. I know ya'll are proud that you guys are small company etc. etc., but strike while the iron is hot. Invest in more devs... you guys already have a goal on what to work on next, the only problem is that there's not enough people working. PZ has one of the biggest potentials to be one of the more memorable games.
Davo, idk if you are aware but the devs already have it planned to make the NPC's like Rimworld's. Based on traits, backgrounds, ect. Also correction on your part, you can sleep to pass time in MP, it just works like Minecraft. Alternatively as well with the whole complaint about lack of sleep, that is fully optional. Multiplayer is fully tunable just like singleplayer. They even have options like you're ability to spawn at safehouses (which I find incredibly lame). Cool it's an option at all though. Additionally, the water stuff is explainable. It's a rule of thumb to boil water obtained from a natural source to kill infectious bacteria and other things that are bad for your body. On top of that, the infection was spread via airborne and waterborne. So it only makes more sense. Awesome video nonetheless, super happy to see that the game is finally getting all this love! P.S: They do plan to rework the entire traits system, especially the broken features of "free points cards".
You didnt made your homework, thier is already a statement out for the NPCs they are like "nearly finished" but they as you rightfully theorised are really polishing it atm.
Great review, but you should definitely check out Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead. CDDA makes PZ pale in comparison when it comes to depth and content, and it's free, so there's really no reason not to try it, though the learning curve is pretty steep.
Notably, a little thing that I find missing is that there aren't any ranged weapon other than firearms, for that matter. One of the greatest features of us humans is that our wrists can bend in a way that allows us to throw objects fast and accurately. The inability to throw rocks, spears, or whatever the fuck you're holding at zombies is a big missing feature that would fundamentally change how combat is played in the game. Any sort of 'quiet' ranged combat is almost entirely nonviable other than if you somehow luck out and get a crossbow, despite how easy it'd be to just chuck a rock into a zed's skull from a handful of meters away. Normal bows also being missing is kinda weird considering how ubiquitous they are in much of zombie media. They're relatively easy to craft, though very hard to learn how to use well. I think they would be very interesting to have, with a couple of variants to add spice (recurve, long, etc.).
that's actually a good point - where the hell are the bows? even if they need to be crafted, as you can make spears and such. or as you said, even like a sling or something would be cool. the main reason i stray away from using guns is that they make so much noise, and if you kill a few zombies an entire horde will show up a few moments later. i can imagine missing even more shots with a bow than i already do with guns tho 😭
@@davo_ Yep. I feel like bows would, ironically, be almost a late game weapon, when compared to the early game spears. Maybe they could have a strength requirement, rather than have too much skill requirement? Still, they should be difficult, since they're arguably the best option for ranged weapon in the apocalypse. I still would really appreciate being able to throw spears/rocks tohough, since it's a really simple thing most people would be able to do instinctively.
Rainwater can also be slightly unsafe to drink, because as the rain falls, I'm pretty sure it can pick up gasses that are in higher concentrations higher up in the atmosphere. I don't think it's a high enough dose to really worry about though and I would guess you wouldn't need to filter it, though I don't see why in-game you can't just dig a well. We have tons at my house since we live in the country and even though it needs to be filtered, it's still in high quantity, plus there's the possibility of finding natural and clean water springs that don't need to be filtered
There is a workshop mod called Bound Journal which lets your character transcribe their stats into a craftable Bound Journal. The recipe is simple, just some leather strips and a Journal or Empty Notebook. If you die, you can go read that journal and your new character will learn all of the stats that were transcribed. Pretty cool! Mods open up so many possibilities. I should add that the act of recording and reading the stats isn't fast at the base level, it's kinda slow, much like reading skill books, so it isn't too cheaty, but it is fully customizable in the sandbox settings!
@@Lost_n_Found_1 there is also a Progressive Character mod (Name is wrong I think) that gives you XP and skills bases on how long you were alive. You can also back up your save periodically by just copying the file to another folder, although this breaks the game to me.
I tryed but its like doing my taxes… slow, boring and I dont want to do it. I can see why people love this game but it is reaaaalllyyy not for me. At least I tested it ^^
it definitely isn't the game for everyone - it is as you say very slow paced and unforgiving. it takes a while for you to get anywhere and it can all be taken from you very quickly, but for me that is part of what makes the progression so satisfying. like i said in the video, i think one of the best parallels i could draw was Kenshi, very similar in that regard. but hey, props to you for actually trying it rather than just disliking it without actually giving it a go - more than you can say for a lot of people
@@davo_ I think I will try with friends. This always helps. When this does not work I will just watch other people play it. Somehow I will get my fix xD
Acid Rain is a very real phenomenon. In the modern day, in many urban areas, just up and drinking the rain water can be like drinking from a faucet in Mexico. It looks like it'll be nice and alright, but if you chug it your stomach will be turned six ways from Sunday.
I did not know what laceration was so I googled the definition and looked at some images, but I went through a rabbit hole of images with deep cuts, to dead body’s, to the cartel executing people, and much more, and when I went back to the deep wound cuts I felt it was minuscule to what I’ve seen.
i haven't seen anyone else say this. so, forgive me if i'm repeating this. But, there is, in fact, roofs in the game. They come in the form of metal roofing, you just have to get a skill book and metalworking up in order to use it. Also, i have a server i play PZ on with wow friends, we have a server with about 15 people that come and go. Our server settings allow for sleep, we play it like valheim, where we just coordinate people in disc to all sleep at X time. works out really well. you just have to enable sleep in the option menu before firing up a server.
My freinds and i kinda solved the "no dread" issue in multiplayer by introducing the horde night mod. The way we play it is we have 30 days to prepare for a massive horde every month, and it gets bigger everytime. Between the hours of 2200 (When the horde arrives) to about 0500 the game is "in ironman mode" basically if you die during horde night you are not allowed to respawn unless at least one person makes it to daybreak. If we all die, we all lose and delete the server to start over.
You can turn on the need to sleep in multiplayer and just like in minecraft if you are all sleeping on the server the night passes pretty much instantly

that sentiment applies to my last death. after slaughtering hundreds of zeds and dismantling road blocks to clear a path, I managed to get a car working and finally escape the hell city I was trapped in. at least until I decided to turn back around and get one last gas canister (I already had several in the trunk and a full tank). I then died to 2 sprinters while filling the canister because I couldn't drop the damn thing. me got greedy.
This is why sprinters make the game far more interesting
This comment reminds me of a run i had in cdda. I went up an apartment tower for planks because i didn't have an axe at the time, made it to the top when looking for a solar panel, only to get yeeted off by a fucking bone hulk. Fourteen story drop and the game asks if i want to see the last moments...
I legit scoffed and said, 'only if it's from two perspectives' since my character should have been all over the place, and their eyes should be about a couple yards apart, assuming they're still functional, and not completely roadside spin-art.
Zombie population high and no respawn actually works really well even in the late game, and it makes the occasional ninja zombie even more suprising
Project zomboid experience is basically "unless changed in the settings"
You can be a superhuman survivor who gains xp quick, rarely needs to drink eat or sleep, loses exhaustion fast and is immune to disease

I just saw a video of it on Tik tok and immediately wanted to play it
started playing it in 2018-2019 (not sure) so im excited to try out B41 multiplayer. joined on this server i always play on. died so many times. im like "wtf just happened?" took a day or two to get used to the combat.
I didn’t even realise! I’ll definitely be checking that out next time I play, thanks dude!

There is one way to solve the reading issue in multiplayer, you can change the amount of minutes it takes you to read a page in a book ingame when setting up a server.
reading, watching, sleeping - anything that takes alot of time
@@whiskizyo2067 Though that could ruin some immersion.

You don't want to be sad from beans - you don't eat them cold.
I gotta learn how to install mods
@@hammertoe00 yeah its quite simple actually, make sure you have the right version though
It's a good thing it automatically filters when I plumb a barrel to a sink then!

Have to say it's the reason i waited a long time before giving this game a go. The graphics are shit. But it makes up for it in game play. And even with the shit graphics it can still give you jump scares. I'm happy i gave this game a chance. Just bought it a week ago and i really love it.
indeed, quite a few of my friends have said it looks like "runescape with zombies".
I mean... It does? Unless he said after that that its a dealbreaker for him, I do not get your comment.
I keep telling people PZ is basically zombie survival sims 1 lol
likely because PZ team were actually former The Sims modders.

Well, cause I'm curious, howd it go?
you confused the hell out of me with the rimworld music, i just got off and thought that i had it open for a second still.
Given the fact scratches come with bleeding... They're not a slight scratch - it's more like a bundle of small cuts.
With the NPC update, it'd be really sweet if you had the option of taking over as one of your "group's" NPC survivors in the event that you die.
What is worse than getting killed by a zombie? The zombie that killed you the second time is the first character you created. It happened to me...twice

I love how they have thrown a lot more of the real life survival mechanics in the game compared to the other games.

Dude, you can turn on the tiredness mechanic in multiplayer when youre hosting yourself.
You aren't immortal, they just ignore you. it's like being a ghost in debug, they don't see you.
If you are making your own multiplayer server or coop server you can make it so people need to sleep, which only would work on coop
This game is super immersive even if you don’t play it for the first time.

Zomboid fascinates me and I love watching people play it. I can't play it myself however, I get bored far too quick and I'm not a fan of rogue likes.
You can also turn it into a base building, farming simulator with or without zombies. If you're into that sort of thing.
@@Lost_n_Found_1 there is also a Progressive Character mod (Name is wrong I think) that gives you XP and skills bases on how long you were alive. You can also back up your save periodically by just copying the file to another folder, although this breaks the game to me.
@@nerfherder4284 I don't mind grinding for stats and resources, but losing the stats in the long game is devastating. That's why I use Bound Journal.
ID RECOGNIZE THAT MUSIC ANYWHERE! (The music at the end is the kenshi theme)
Omg I love covid 19
Omg saaame can we be besties?
19:30 Kenshi music! Such an amazing game!
I love the rimworld soundtrack in the back ground
And then, there is Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead.
The thing about zombie apocalypses that scared me aren’t the zombies, but the feeling of isolation and that all your loved ones are dead or undead
I did not know what laceration was so I googled the definition and looked at some images, but I went through a rabbit hole of images with deep cuts, to dead body’s, to the cartel executing people, and much more, and when I went back to the deep wound cuts I felt it was minuscule to what I’ve seen.
Poggers
Poggers indeed
12:55 I DID NOT EXPECT A DARKEST DUNGEON REFERENCE! NICE!
i haven't seen anyone else say this. so, forgive me if i'm repeating this.
"Multiplayer feels like a casual experience." Pvp would like a word with you.
While I fully expected you to talk about the jumpscare noise when you mentioned zomboid popping out from behind trees and doors, and as someone who has experienced that beautiful sound many times, it still got me in the video. With that said, fuck you for getting me.
