Thank you for the mage justice. Even without HFB, the damaging spells mage had access to is enough. Besides, it's not always about damage. One of my favorite playthroughs (base game + BBI) was playing as a support mage.

I think some might regard it as the "worst" vocation because Warrior is at least original at sucking while with Mage you're playing a very nerfed Sorcerer.
I made a mage pawn recently, and possibly my favorite pawn I've ever done, and he's a recreation of The Adoring Fan from Oblivion. And now he can die over and over in Dragons Dogma too, as it should be.
To remark is to express a thought- which is to speak (essentially). To un-remark (in the above sense) is to take back/not do. -able ability to do. In that sense, unremarkable would be to take back or not express a thought; thus silence. 10/10 language troll.
my issue with mage is it just doesn't really have a lot of stuff that makes it stand out compared to sorcerer besides grapnel. Really wish it had more supportive options to make it more of a defined playstyle than kinda just being either a grapnel bot or sorcerer without access to the broken oneshot spells

Heya, i've being watching your content some years already, and i must REALLY THANK YOU for convincing me to play as a Warrior, that vocation besides simple is just INCREDIBLY FUN, like, i always played as Mystic Knight, i even dropped Dragons Dogma for some months by the boredom, but seeing that Warrior is so good to play as, i am now really excited to try other vocations besides Fighter, Mystic Knight and Magic Archer! Now farming for Hellfire Armor will be much more fun 😅 (I really need some motivation to farm it, damn it has been a whole years since i started farming it, managed to get the bracers past day, now just some more months to get the greaves).
If you have three mage pawns with spellscreen, get them all to cast it outside of combat with the d-pad(left or right) then cast it yourself; it'll stack up to four times. Impenetrable defense!
I love having legions might on my mage pawn because he's only got enchanting and healing, means I don't have to worry about him staying up and I can always have enchantments
I once killed death with a new game mage - Non-aggro/"search mode" death doesnt really teleport - Death gets stuck in doorways because he is big - Chip damage is still damage - You can move some spells around corners; such as miasma
Very first time i went to the island i was a mage an dude it was rough, by the time i got t the end boss, on me own pawns did a runner now if only you had pit this out years ago 😊
I usually can't play the magic support in RPGs because I like being in the middle of the action swinging my sword sword sword, my diamond sword sword especially in DD so seeing this is ridiculously cool to me. Playing and loving Fable really early in my childhood ruined magic playstyles in other rpgs for me because of how smooth it felt there on top of me not being locked to just magic. Hopefully mage and sorcerer get a dope rework in DD2.

The problem with mages isn't that they're weak it's that they're just like warrior a 1 trick pony show. They can use holy focus and grapnel and what else do they have that's good that's exclusive to them??? Yeah they're support and sure they can dps but my idea of fun isn't spamming holy focus over and over with an occasional grapnel for crowd control. While I'm thinking of it I really hope DD2 has some way to easily switch weapons because that is one of the most tedious things about this game.
honestly i like mage more then sorcerer any class that can self heal is always top tier for me. plus holy focused bolt (imo) is better then most of the spells sorcerer gets,and doesn't take 5 business days to cast.
i think that people say mage is bad is not only because of the damage, its because it just a buff vocation, you dont get the cool stuff like bolide and gicel. So your only good source of damage is the focoused bolt that the sorcerer already have, so why would you use mage for the bold when sorcerer has it and another much cooler looking and useful spells?
Yea, having 2 pawns just for enemy shut down with mage makes BBI the easiest run through. Just having a mage with a rusted staff and grapnel and another with a golden staff and grapnel shuts down 90% of the bitter black enemies.
