The back of the veil looks like it has roots to grab the traveler or at least it might have been connected previously at the beginning of the universe.
That's what I think as well.
that's interesting as the witness is like a mini-veil or river of souls of their prior civilization. it makes sense that it uses darkness and needed the actual veil to complete it's plan
Would the inner world of the Veil just be like...a giant mindshare? Like the egregore was a connection to a giant greater consciousness, IIRC it wasn't a connection to the Witness, but it was a connection to a consciousness that the Witness could access. I think this inner consciousness could be where the "whispers" came from, the whispers that Maya Sundaresh heard, what Clovis Bray heard through the K2 artifact, the voices from dead friends that we heard speak to us on the Glykon, that kind of stuff.
If the veil is the inverse of the traveler, then it’s pale heart would be something opposite, like a flushed kidney

When Courier 6 shows up in Destiny 2 with a Two-Step Goodbye and Guardian powers and Ka-Chunks The Witness to death.
Better theory, the Veil was once inside the Traveler and where The Witness's monolith has been raised is where The Veil once stood.
This is because the Traveler and The Veil were once one. As the Traveler represents the exterior/physical universe with The Light, The Veil is the interior/metaphysical universe with The Darkness. That's just my view anyways.
something that just popped in. using the veil and intent, you form a virtual reality, then using the traveler u use that as a template to create physical reality, and vice versa. both need to be harmony to create a stable universe like this one
What if those who experienced brain death by touching the veil, had their minds uploaded into the veil’s simulated reality?
This is something I’ve wondered as well. If those people basically got their minds forcibly downloaded into the Veil. I hate how vague they describe the Veil like everyone gets it, but not us, and nobody is explaining it
I’m curious what’s inside the physical space of the traveller though. We know there’s two different spaces, the physical space where the hole at the bottom of the traveller leads to and is described as smelling of vanilla. Where we go is most likely a mental space, the mind or consciousness of the traveller where the pale heart resides. This is because it requires darkness to access which is connected with the mind and thoughts and the pale heart is seemingly shaped by memories and thought.
I think you were closer to the answer at the end, The realm inside the Veil IS the pale heart because it and the traveller are part of the same whole. The pale heart is the combination of the travellers control of physical reality and the Veils ability to link minds and allow them to shape that reality, its exactly what the Witness is trying to do, re write reality to match its intended concept of perfection. The only reason we refer to the pale heart being inside the Traveller is because of the characters lack of understanding and because the Traveller is the physical representation of the light and dark combined, so to physically enter this 'god realm' requires the travellers physical presence, the witness couldn't enter the pale heart without the veil, just like it couldn't enter a reality within the veil without hunting down the traveller. In either case the destination is the same.
👏🏻👏🏻 exactly. The paleheart is the place where everything comes from. Light and dark are one and the same. Mind and body. Physical and non physical. Its calld the Soul. Thats why we learnd the prismatic. Its light and dark in one.
It’s as if the traveler has terraformed himself. When he acts on planets, he uses that planet as a base to create an improved version of it. Acting on himself instead he couldn’t work on any basis, but here comes the veil. With the consciousness coming from it (perhaps the thoughs of the guardians or the witness in it) the traveler may have used those as the basis to create a phisical version of himself. Risky theory but it could be.
Perhaps it is more connected, maybe the pale heart inside the traveler hasn’t always existed the way that it is when the guardian enters. Maybe it’s like a half of the whole and when it was linked to the vail that connected its other half. Combining consciousness with the metaphysical allowing for dead things to experience existence again.

I don’t know if I agree with this theory. I think we are only able to enter the world inside of the traveler because of the veil acting as a key to the door of that world.
I think it’s past time for those Neomuma folks who uploaded - to download back into reality before the final shape. If they can……. Something really really dark is going on there…
I thought the realm within the traveler was created through the fusion of light and dark. Thoughts, memories and emotions manifesting in physical space. It’s the whole point to the witnesses plan. To enact its perfect vision of existence by linking the Traveler and the veil. The Veil having a realm of its own makes no sense.

I have a question for a theory: if the traveler and the veil where one's 1 force or linked what caused them to seperate and what could. they can colide there power but we dont know if it can separate them both. because we can en wield both to but it dose not harm our conection to both i find that a question im curious about

My theory now after this, is that ghost were once a species and their consciousness was uploaded into the ghost shell. Maybe even precursors who didnt conjoin with the witness
Wait now I’m a bit confused…if the slow whisper is the darkness who we know is separate from the witness. After the Presage and witch queen, we find out that the witness was the whisper of salvation as it tried to convince all of those that it spoke to,unless I’m missing something - so if the witness could have supposedly whispered to Maya when the veil was found; was that the time where it knew where it was found or did that happen before Savathun hid it? In this case the Witness could’ve made short work of everything rather than being theatrical. Idk I need more context.

I was always confused about the veil being the travelers counterpart. I get the light/dark aspect of that...but i dont understand why the veil isnt as "sentient" as the traveler and doesnt do what it wants.
A whole year later still no one can explain what the veil is

So the traveler/light being “Physical” whereas veil/darkness being “Consciousness or Memory” I have a theory, so the physical planes we see in the pale heart are parts of the physical, so what if we see people/beings/or things related to the darkness to kind of act alongside that, going back to Cayde’s dialogue, “the ground beneath my feet is a memory, -instead, corruption, darkness.”
Think of it as this, You have the human body, the Darkness/Veil represents the Soul/Essence/Character behind the human, and the Light/Traveler represent the Body/Manner/Appearance of the human, but together they make a Human, and without the two joined they’re a force in their own but not as refined or as harnessed.

But it feels like the pale heart is a manifestation of both light and dark surely? It requires darkness to enter and the world is seemingly shaped by consciousness and thought like the darkness? I mean it requires both light AND dark to enter.

Hasn’t it been stated that the Veil and Traveller were originally parts of the same thing? It explains any darkness-like aspects of light to me and vice verse just fine in that case. Maybe the Veil was originally inside the traveller? Like a brain?

I hope that by the end of the campaign, they give me a choice to either continue as a Guardian of the light or to become a Disciple to the darkness. This would open so many avenues in story telling. It would take more work for the devs to implement such a system but it could be done. I want this choice to have rewards and consequences on both sides. My proposal is this, for those who choose the light, you are granted access to a fully rebuilt tower in the travellers image. In this tower, there will be a meditation chamber where you can commune with the traveller itself.
Overtime, you will learn more about the creation of the universe, about the Gardener, and as the episode come out, you will strenghten your connection to the light and recieve new light powers including supers, apects, fragments and more. The Vanguard of the light will include the Guardian, kora, and Zavala. You are now a fireteam. In addition to having a beautifully redesigned tower social space, you will also have a special aura above your head, perhaps a etheric crown indicating you have chosen to follow the light.. If you chose the Darkness, you are brought to a small portion of fundement where you will be ritualistically drowned in the deep. Upon revival, you are now a Diciple to the Winnower.
You are granted access to a Different social space inside of a larger pyramid ship stationed in fundaments orbit. Similirarly to the tower, there will be a meditation chamber deep within the pyramid where you will commune with the Winnower, and over time will strengthen your connection to the Darkness unlocking new supers, aspects and fragments. Rather than a vanguard, there would be a Council. This Council would include you, Eris Morn, Elsie Bray, The Drifter, and Savathuun. You will not have access to the tower. The only players you will find in this Pyramid Ship social space are those who have chosen to follow the Winnower. This means, you will only come across Guarians of the light in core playlists and patrol zones. Above your characters head will be darkness resonant aura/ crown indicating you have drowned in the deep. I feel like you get the same core rewards but experienced in a different way. While this would be a challenge narratively, if done correctly, you could have a solid pathway into destiny 3. I want to emphasise that choosing darkness does not make your character evil. It simply means, your philosophies differ from the followers of the light. I sort of just came up with this on the spot so there would have to be tons of refining to make this fit in the world of destiny but I would love to hear your thoughts on something like this and if anyone else has something they think would be cool to add to this, please share.
Anyone noticed that the travelers portal look changes when you look at it? I just noticed this weekend so I have no idea if it has been like this for a long time.

So the veil is mental n the traveler is nature. Tht is y the withness can make u remember n traveler cannot n y guardians dnt remember their past. Combine them together n u get god of sum sort. The question is y did they split? So the veil is thinking the traveler is nature. Wats a plant without brain. Or a person without brain.
10:17 not just give up, share the body. It’s not like handing over a win it’s more like dancing to the music so giving up the body is a beginners analogy. And what i mean is that, we have limitations of the body so instead of giving up the bodies I’m pretty sure they’re in cryo while the minds are able to be free. This is more like an extension rather than giving up the body. It’s sharing into the virtual domain. It’s like how we share the mental space with math and we are extended into math and its differences to be able to understand and manifest using it. It’s like thinking before doing, the thought collapses into the differences to manifest from one to the other.

Huh? There was no Witness before they merged. Everyone who didn’t agree they killed and only the ones left conducted the merge. The merge didn’t happen one by one, it was all at once. Hence why its personality is how it is, it was intentionally tailored to be that way.
