New chickens are finally in the coop outside. There is hardware cloth between them so they don't get attacked by the adult chickens. We disassembled and rebuilt the entire small coop as it was rotting away at the bottom.

Lovely!! What are you using for the bedding for the run? Is it some kind of soil in particular? And do you recommend it for smell and everything else?

Thank you! The run is a mix of sand and dirt. We take out a lot of old dirt mix every year and put it in the garden over winter, then add new sand. We use sweet pdz as a litter tray under the roost in the coop, then clean that every day or so. Keeps the smell down substantially.
