Great info. I've done the research already myself but it's amazing what we in 2023 have available to us as far as information on where to go and how to recover it.
The level of sharing information makes this ongoing gold rush unique. You can watch many UA-cam prospectors go from complete novices to legitimately skilled in a few years. There are a lot of ideas and tests around too so that most of the core problems have been solved and if you put together a bit of experience and new technology there are a number of opportunities for discovery.
Not to mention they guys in the 1960s-70s knew certain things but were dealing with 200-500$/oz. Now we are dealing with like 2700$/oz. Makes certain places way more economical than they were worth the trouble before. I'm going to grubstake on the Stewart and elsewhere in May 2024. 6000kms drive from Ottawa with heated seats and a Ton of equipment that didn't exist in 1890s. 😅

Thanks for the comment, Trapper 62! As an excavator operator you have a unique advantage in not only are you likely familiar with basic maintenance of heavy equipment but you can also operate a small wash plant solo or with very low manpower. Because you are on logging roads you also have access to material from outcroppings and other deposits so you are literally the first person to ever see that deep into many structures. I'd swipe a few samples to crush/ pan out and use that history to narrow down some potentially amazing spots. Indirectly, yes. You must be a Canadian citizen or a resident for half the year to get a Free Miner's License (1/2 of the requirements) but you can get around this by using an intermediary (a canuckee friend or family member) or by investing in a company or stock that controls claims in BC. You could also get creative with contracts and such I'm sure. Alternatively, you can go anywhere as long as long as the land is free (crown land) or you get permission from any private property interests and claim owners. This assumes normal business / open borders. Thanks for the comment!
Hey, it seems you are right in my back yard. I am just a few km north of where you were showing off here. I know I will have to get my FML again to get back onto those pages, and I will look after that in a few short weeks. Prospecting is a fun hobby but showing people how to make money doing it makes it more viable. I will definitely be sharing a lot of information that many prospecting channels try to obscure. Thanks for the comment!
Yes there is some area available, but the majority of the good spots have been blanket claimed and it’s very frustrating. Nobody needs 20 different claims all to themselves. As a beginner hobbyist I was a little disheartened with how many creek\ river beds are completely claimed up and have been for YEARS. This could be just my inexperience talking though.
There is a significant monetary and time cost to keep up with all the paperwork, plus the required value scales with the size of the claims. So generally if someone has huge claims locked up they have done some serious work. It isn't really feasible to own 20 giant claims without putting out some serious coin and hours. Of course the most economic known areas are claimed because those are the areas being worked and increasing the lifespan of their claims. Look up the claim numbers and explore more of MTO. It will be statistically very rare for someone that isn't a professional prospector or mining company to have a huge number of claims in development. I am fine with people holding claims as long as they are working them or have in the recent past. To be honest I am pretty shocked at how much ground is open / periodically appears on famous gold rush creeks and rivers. I got two excellent Fraser River claims this year for the claim cost and there is still loads of ground open. Is it the most ideal ground in the world? No, but the days of kicking over giant nuggets on the first gravel bar are over. There is however 1,000s of kilometers of open ground but it does require prospecting to develop. Gold is now at record prices so the super obvious claims I show in this video will eventually disappear. My best claim is loaded on a famous gold rush river and people still let it lapse. And then people came in and they let those pieces lapse too - also loaded with gold they missed. So be on the lookout for deals and research areas. It's unlikely you will get a perfect claim without paying $10ks but you can get an excellent / good claim by prospecting and using some of the tips I give in the video. Blocks of claims that are stable are a very good sign when you are looking for new areas. Thanks for the comment!
Infinity Prospecting I live on Vancouver Island where thankfully there is a little bit of gold, and very few claims (At least in my area) so I can pan wherever I want. I’ll certainly do my own research to see if there are any easily accessible unclaimed pieces of land as well!
@@EPSGplayer That sounds like a great plan. If you're bored check out 911 mining, they are mostly on the Island I think and they find amazing stuff including large nuggets and lots of gold and copper ore.
