Yes, Madara was holding back. He was actually analyzing the SUDDEN jump in Naruto's and Sasuke's power. Madara never fights with mere raw power. He uses only what is necessary just like with 5 kages. He didn't use Naraka Path/Human Path/ Shinra Tensei on Kages or else the Kages would have been finished within seconds. He was also planning to get his second Rinnegan.

I feel like adult sasuke would clutch up against madara even with sage powers. He may only have one Rinnegan but its 6 tomoe and is stronger than a singular madara rinnegan. He had access to all 7 paths with edition to his EMS abilities. His perfect Susanoo blocks infinite tsukoyomi and he can use Indra's arrow against madara after he uses IS.

This really shows that Kishimoto missed opportunities to make some of the characters more unique by divvying up the jutsu abilities. Susano’o could’ve been Madara’s exclusive power that made him so unstoppable, Ametarasu could’ve been Sasuke’s unique ability, etc. There’s a similar issue in Harry Potter where all magic is accessible to every wizard (which I usually like in a magic system!) but the big bad himself, Voldemort, is only seen unique spells in one scene. The Killing Curse is just so efficient that it’s his go-to-spell, and anyone can use it; would’ve been more interesting if only Voldy knew how.

3. Probably Minato in both ways. Orochimaru did almost lose to Hiruzen and Minato is stronger than Hiruzen. Even if base Minato loses, Edo Minato would win.
4. Depends on which Sakura. Pre-TS loses. Shippuden puts up a good fight and may win and once she has Creation Rebirth, Sakura takes it for certain.
5. Everything Pre-TS loses. It's implied that Naruto isn't stronger than Kakashi and Guy is relative to Kakashi. It's really only up to the point that he has Sage Mode that he poses a much bigger threat. Sage Mode maybe can win against Guy with Seventh Gate. Once Guy goes Eighth Gate, it would probably take KCM2 + Sage Mode to pose a threat and finally, Six Paths Naruto wrecks.
6. Gaara would win. Neji has the dexterity, but he doesn't have the speed that weightless Lee does to penetrate Gaara's sand shield. Gaara would consume him with the Sand Coffin eventually, keeping his body from moving to use Rotation and then he's crushed to death. The Gentle Fist functions by not being able to do much external damage, which is a huge problem for Neji since he won't be able to overcome Gaara's defense. I don't think Neji really ever can win against Gaara.
7. Tenten would probably win just because she has more of an attack-based fighting style, vs Ino who is more support on the battlefield. Tenten would drop a gigantic iron ball on Ino and that would be the end of the fight.
I can see the argument with all of those except for number 7 because Tenten doesn't deserve any win ever. Her specialization is just "I carry around this scroll that has weapons I huck at people but never bothered to attach paper bombs too so they could actually be useful".
