i get ur point. what you are saying is if guy has a speed of 10m/s and will have 10% of boost in speed if he removes his weights then his speed will be 11m/s and it will go the same if he opens the 8 gates. like if he gets a million times boost in speed then his speed will be 10,000km/s and eventually he will get a 10% boost in speed if he removes the weights so his speed will be 11,000km/s. if this is ur point then u r WRONG! If without the weights his speed is 11m/s that doesn't mean removing the weights boosted his speed, it means he has reached his original speed. Simply, removing or adding the weight doesn't increase or decrease his speed, it only gives him a limit which is not a percentage, only a number. So, if guy's original speed is 11m/s and with the weights 10m/s that means the weights bounds his speed by (11m/s - 10m/s) = 1m/s. So if with 8 gates guy's original speed is 11,000km/s that means his speed with the weights will be 11,000km/s - 0.001km/s = 10,999.999km/s. Your theory might have been true if his speed and the weights were related (like if his speed increases the his weights also increases or decreases when it remains the same)

Sakura and tsunade have one of the highest punching strength in the series, but you also see them lifting insanely large and heavy objects, which you don't see other characters doing that often (Sakura lifts a huge bolder in Naruto gaiden, Tsunade lifts Gamabunta's sword, Tsunade stops Manda's charge).
13 year old Lee was able to carry his weights while remaining the fastest genin. as previous comments mentioned, he also lifted a huge tree root in base.
Sage mode is said to enhance "physical strength", and you see Naruto lifting and throwing freaking kurama.
so it tracks that insane physical strength => insane lifting strength.

@@armin1712nobody lifts in naruto. people who can lift are shown lifting multiple times, people who cant lift are not shown lifting. Forexample Sasuke never lift anything. Naruto can lift in sage mode hence he lift during fight and also during training and what not.
Lee and Guy can punch, and run. They carry weight on body, only to increase their run and punch, well technically it only inc. their speed. Lee increased only his speed, by dropping weight. That how naruto works
Not sure how much intel matters to Guy considering he doesn't even remember his opponents. One of my favorite scenes was when Kisame acknowledged Guy as a formidable opponent and Guy was like “who are you?”

The thing is, Guy wasn’t alone during the Pain Arc at any time. He had Rock Lee, Tenten, and Neji with him. So this battle should be Team Guy vs Pain. Let’s be honest, Tenten is basically useless here, but the other 3 are skilled enough where the only Pain I see them having a problem with would be the Deva Path.
Except there's a delay between each almighty push, and Yahiko would be boned when 7th gate Lee and Guy are running at him on the air
im pretty sure this vid was just about 1v1 not 3v1 and if it was that way pain most likely would have dispatched of the rest before taking care of guy if things got real desperate id imagine rock lee and the rest to be defeated and pain doing chibaku tensei to guy and he still wins but if say lee and the other focused on the other paths while guy tool care of the deva path then id imagine the 3 to win but if pain just did the chibaku tensei it would be over for all of them and if pain called upon a few akatsuki members(assuming there are some that are in base) then id definitly say pain wins

The Deva Path is not stronger than Rikudou Madara, if Rikudou Madara couldn't react to defend himself against 8th Gate Guy what makes you think Deva Path Pain could? 8th Gate Guy was bending Space/Time, Swagkake doesn't know what he's talking about because Chibaku Tensei wouldn't do anything to Guy at all the man is bending space he's too fast. Guy almost killed Rikudou Madara something Naruto and Sasuke didn't come close to doing, Kishimoto states this himself.

Guy's best strategy is to start with a lower level of power and work upwards. The main problem is that, even though Might Guy can beat Pain in raw power, the use of bodies as avatars makes Pain able to survive by having one body (even if it's Nagato) distant and waiting for Guy to collapse exhausted
I think 6th gate guy is relevant. 6th gates weren't needed to match 1/3rd power Kisame. 6 gates were needed to quickly overwhelm Kisame. Because the gates buffs don't last long and drain you, they're best used to end fights quickly, so going a gate above what's necessary to win is probably a good idea.
8th gate guy might be able to kill all the paths with one attack unless they disperse a lot
I would assume that he can chuck the animals away. I don't know why the strength buffs from opening the gates just wouldn't apply to throwing or lifting.
Pain's best strategy is to get the Animal Path far away so he can get the other pains out of there, especially the one that resurrects the other paths. To facilitate this, he could launch attacks with the other paths and summon a bunch of animals, then use shinra tensei to create distance.
Nagato surviving and Guy being exhausted means, I think, that Pain would probably win overall even if Guy took out the paths with the 7th gate

They're relatively fragile as hell, too; Rasengan and Frog-Fu basically one-shotted them.

@Fictional Subliminals Do you honestly think that the Deva path COULD stab him with a chakra rod? Pulling him into a large scale jutsu from one of the other paths is one thing, but pulling him into a close range strike would be the absolute worst choice it could make. He's still miles more skilled than anything Nagato is bringing to the table in taijutsu and his striking and blocking speed all but guarantee hes going to flip the script on that stabbing attempt and tear the Deva path in half.

That’s the thing about the Eight Gates: I struggle to say someone “wins” with the eighth gate because they also die as a result without contrivance no jutsu. I feel like you can win using up to the seventh gate and opening number eight is when you accept that you’re not winning and want to force a draw.
Also, if we’re having this fight within the context of the actual plot by having Guy pop up in Konoha instead of Naruto and company at the exact same time as they did originally, this fight just doesn’t happen. Animal Path just reverse summons Deva Path right on out of there and they head off to Mt. Myoboku.😁

I actually think Gai is a pretty good counterpick to Pain. No Ninjutsu to be absorbed for starters, visually linked makes no difference when you're as fast as Gai, and the 5 second gap between gravity manipulation is plenty of time for a gated gai to just 1-shot a few of them.

A lot of people think Gai and Lee are just goofy characters, failing to realize how awesome they are.
Granted, the series kinda relegated them to the side after Shippuden came around, but I really like their "Train, try until you make it" moto, being hands down the best Taijustsu characters in the series.
Not to mention, their power-up actually has drawbacks, unlike the Uchiha who invent a power every Arc and have ways to bypass all their restrictions or Naruto, who becomes better because protagonist power (at a point he doesn't even train anymore, just unlocks the powers with the power of friendship).

While this might not be the best place to put up thoughts on the Rasenshuriken, I've always pictured it as a careful balance of elements.
My theory on how it works is:
The training for the Rasengan implies it needs a perfect balance of inertia of chakra and control of the vectors to maximize effectiveness. The Rasenshuriken is a step up, but the introduction of a new element makes it far more volatile, hence why the backlash is so severe. But sage chakra is a new stabilizing element which makes it able to be thrown. But the fundamental structure shouldn't have changed, which means it's still a chaotic storm of chakra, just carefully shaped and now in a sturdier shell of sage chakra which helps it to maintain its circular vector pattern.
Shinra Tensei directly exerts force on everything within range, which is what makes it so powerful. It can be resisted, but it's real tricky to do that when literally every atom of your body is trying to go away from from the enemy.
So... Shinra Tensei isn't head on competing with the sheer power of the Rasenshuriken. It's destabilizing its structure by circumventing the sage shell and pushing the storm of chakra out of its carefully determined directions, to make it destroy its own shell and dissipate.
It's a matchup of fundamental structures on how the powers work, rather than power... or that's how I rationalize it.
