Hope this helps! Love the video, so many of my all-time favorites are on here.
How dare my sister not tel me that a song by The Who was used in the movie A Silent Voice. Now I really have to watch it.
Also, the opening RomeoXJuliet is a Japanese version of You Raise Me Up; they play an English version in the final episode. Most of the Soundtrack for Princess Tutu, is taken from famous ballets like the Nutcracker and Swan Lake.
Yokoelf I miss ur channel 😢😭
according to his myanimelist account he has quit due to copyright problems this sucks by the way check his other channel for more of the other videos he made before he quit
JoJo should've been using Village People songs.
Number One definitely is my favorite! 😍 I think it was also the first time I really noticed someone other than a japanese person doing a song for an anime...
"Arrietty's Song" by French artist Cécile Corbel, from The Borrowers of Arrietty. "Fine on the Outside" by American artist Priscilla Ahn, from When Marnie was There. Aimee Blackschleger and maybe Tielle are American and did songs with Hiroyuki Sawano.
Tegami Bachi, Senjou no Valkyria), Diana Garnet (americana?
Your list is very complete! :O at least you put all I can remember!
_to be continued_
update:
Kaiju No. 8 ED: Nobody - ONEREPUBLIC
Great Pretender ED: The Great Pretender - Freddie Mercury
Bleach had an OP that was sung by a foreign band if I remember right. Also, Boa sung Masayume Chasing for Fairy Tail (though to be fair, she sang it in Japanese). Recently in Tokyo Ghoul Amalee sang one of the insert songs. Great video though!
that's different boa, tho
Ah was it? My bad then.
the boa you mean is spelled BoA, with B and A on caps, and is South Korean, while the one in this video is english if i'm not mistaken
The Boa that did the Lain intro are a British band.
Glassy Sky by Amalee
Franz Ferdinand?
You missed a few german openings. Golden boy and Lupin the 3rd was both from a Berlin group called Computerjockeys (made for the both shows that are running at that time on mtv germany) . We had a Hellsing opening song by flint - aim4 (singer of that song is keith flint frontsinger from the prodigy). Vision of escaflowne was from the band dax raiders - People and for the Anime of X we got a song from Within Temptation- Mother Earth
Many animé use Christian chants, like the Kyrie Elesion (Elfen Lied) and the Dies Irae (Death Note), no idea about the nationalities in those two specific cases, but I am sure that at least more animé use the Dies Irae as well. Ode to Joy/Beethoven's 9th comes to mind as well, used in Evangelion, but also no clue to the nationality of the performers.
i really like your videos, keep doing it, i have no idea what you should do next but do it please :)
Ghost in the Shell: 2nd Gig’s ED is “Living Inside the Shell” by Steve Conte
Recently, Kaiju No. 8's intro and outro
Intro: Abyss by YUNGBLUD
Outro: Nobody by OneRepublic
Thanks to mention this.
Aimee B - Fallen Angel in Panty Stocking and Garterbelt and Interstella 5555 for a whole Daft Punk album!
- Outra obra de arte! Parabéns Yokoelf. Continua assim. Todo sucesso do mundo pra ti
You missed pandora heart - everytime you kissed me(emily bindiger) from USA
Where is Human Touch by Warren Wiebe (Gundam X first ED) ?
Where's your second video on this?
That Delta Goodrem one in Deltoras Quest blew my mind. I’ve seen Ads for That show a few times as a kid, but never showed interest in the books and the show. I could be wrong, but this is the first time for me seeing an Australian Artist have their song’s featured in an Anime.
Wow, for once I can actually understand these 100% totally-in-Japanese cartoon op songs.
except the one in portuguese
Portuguese? I think you mean "Brazilian-Japanese".
@@hoobidibahbidibah8119 Brazil if it was colonized by Japan
@@hoobidibahbidibah8119 Brazilian japanese?
I'm from argentina
Yokoelf you probably should have included ELO's Twilight since Daicon IV is basically a bootleg music video for it. Interstella 5555 should count too.
One of the songs you missed/Uma das músicas que você não colocou aí:
"Human Touch" by Warren Wiebe. Anime: After War Gundam X
Boa, valeu! :D
Boa lista rapaz, baita trabalho. Faltou Gospel of The Throttle, op de Drifters, a banda é australiana ou americana, não tenho certeza agora
I'm glad I saw this video! I didn't know there were English openings for a anime that weren't for kids! And that there were English openings going strong to this day!
I love Girls on Film. Its one of my favorite Duran Duran tracks.
Cool video.
The soundtrack of the movie Project A-ko was done by westerners with all the songs in the movie being in English, it is also one of the best music scores for an anime movie I have ever heard. Of course I love the movie so I may be bias.
Also some of the Urusei Yatsura movies had some songs sang by westerners.
Where's Origa? She is Russian.
I do remember mentioning both Origa and Himeka when I suggested this list months ago.
Maybe they both got cut off because their songs include japanese on the lyrics?
(Himeka sings almost full japanese but she's French Canadian)
She will be on the next video ^^
>"She is Russian."
>Western Songs
@Anonymous 42 tbf Russia is fucking huge. It's in Europe (which is considered Western) and Asia (which generally is not). It's arguable if Origa counts.
@@bentheechidna dude, I'm russian and this made me laugh. Try telling ANYONE here that we are European or western, they gonna punch you in the face for that..
I love looking at lists like these and learning of new interesting and hopefully good series!
I’ve been waiting for this for years
Wheres Magic (Gundam 0083) and Human Touch? (Gundam X)
Here’s some missing songs
“I Can’t Stop Loving You” by Ray Charles (Osamu Tezuka’s Metropolis)
“Born to Be Free”, “Every Day”, and “Remember My Love” by Steffanie (Urusei Yatsura) (i dont know if she counts since she’s Japanese-American but was born in America)
There’s also the entirety of Cipher the Video.
Great Job. We need more. Keep making wonderfull videos
Maison Ikkoku
hey, thanks for the hard work o7
My favorite was always Ken Masters listening to Alice in Chains while driving in the U.S. release of the Street Fighter movie. It just fits so well.
great list, you got me on BSB and Radiohead hahahaha
anw, no love for Macross Plus ? the insert song "Information High" is sung by Gabriella Robin and the lyric is in english
I forgot all about Avril Lavigne singing covers for One Piece. That was really weird.
Nice, loved it!
Please make more! :)
You guys went crazy for the Backstreet Boys, I'm losing it over Steve Conte, Mr. Big and Duran Duran.
"Modern Crusaders" by Enigma
Straight Jacket ending: "Le Chemin" by Kyo
I still remember jumping out of my chair as I watched the episode when I realized it was used for the ending xD
